[Guide] How to make Z370 chipset MBs compatible with 128GB RAM

Hello @dsanke, I know this is an old topic, but I hope to get a reply. My current situation: I’m using a GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 (rev. 1.1) ITX motherboard. The official specifications state “2 x DDR4 DIMM sockets supporting up to 32 GB of system memory.” According to Intel’s official data and previous discussions about Skylake motherboards, each DIMM should theoretically support 32GB modules. However, when I tried using 32GBx2 memory, the system failed to boot and emitted 5 long beeps. What should I do? Should I attempt to use Coffee Time tools to unlock 128GB memory support and flash a modified BIOS? I would greatly appreciate any response and assistance.

@Comedian 32g single dimm dont need bios mod. just insert one 32gb, and set memory to 1866 or lower, then insert the second 32gb.

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.
