[Guide] Transfer of specific Intel OROM VBIOS and GOP VBT settings by using Intel BMP tool

@SoniX Sure no problem!

GOP in BIOS

GOP in Graphics Command Center

Attached you can find the settings from my original GOP_VBT_199.bin file which I transferred to your clean VBT_221.bin

Note: I manually had to edit TP1 WakeUp Time and TP2/TP3 WakeUp Time under “Integrated Display Config” -> “LFP Configuration” -> “PSR feature”

vbt199_settings.zip (4.59 KB)

@snixel

Thanks for the good news and testing.

What were your actions?
If I understand you correctly, then first you saved the settings from 199 to an SSF file.
Then, I loaded the settings from the SSF file to 221.
- (That is, as usual for OROM VBIS)
And then he corrected the settings you need.

Is it true or were there other actions?

Yes you are correct. No other action

@snixel Did you try GOP 1086 with the old VBT of 199 by any chance? If yes, I’m guessing it didn’t work, right?

@plutomaniac yes it did not work. GOP 1080 already gave problems with VBT 199, transferring the settings to a newer VBT solved all my issues with both 1080 and 1086

@snixel

Try the latest version of GOP 1092.

CloneVBT v0.1.0 is a new utility for quickly transferring settings to OROM VBIOS.
See at the end of the first post.

Add:
v0.1.1 - Fixed Correct CS8

@SoniX is GOP 1092 supposed to be supported by skylake?

Any release notes by any chance?

@snixel

Yes. This is one line of 9.0.xxxx.

There is no information yet.

@SoniX with GOP 1092 my image is flipped up side down. Needs newer VBT (>221)

I will try 1090 next.

@snixel

Look in the settings of the VBT. There was something about this 180-degree rotation effectIn

1090 and 1091 it will be the same. :))

Add:
@snixel

PAGE LFP Configuration
$180_Deg_Rotation_Enable 00

@SoniX the 180° option has no effect. Image stays upside down :frowning:

Same for GOP 1090

@snixel

Good. Thank.
As soon as GOP VBT 228 or higher is available, I will immediately inform you.

I think it is already available. You may need to monitor Intel FSP for these things.

@plutomaniac

Thank you. :))
I subscribed to this repository, but for some reason I did not receive update messages.

@snixel

Link to 228 is. Try it 109x + 228. :))

That’s great news :slight_smile:
I’m currently abroad for work. I will test on Sunday

@SoniX

I tried transferring settings to vbt228 but got the following message:

When checking these out there are a lot of power conservation settings missing in vbt228. As for the eDP Link Training, the value is now expressed in Khz, while in older vbt this is expressed in Gbps.

@snixel

Yes, the settings you specified in 228 are marked as "Skip".
They are usually ignored or immediately deleted from the (SSF) settings file.
It’s bad when the old parameters are larger than what is provided in the new files.
Example, fby old parameter - 2 byte, and new parameter - 1 byte.

There were bytes became kilohertz … That I can not say anything except as "The manufacturer reserves the right to make changes" …

I think we should look for the settings in 221. This image flip, as I understand it, is observed only on notebooks. On desktops there are no such problems, it is checked.

@SoniX Yeah, apart from the image flip all seems normal with vbt221 and gop1092
I’ll see if I can find some setting to correct the image.
