[Guide] Transfer of specific Intel OROM VBIOS and GOP VBT settings by using Intel BMP tool

@SoniX

From what I understand the 180 Degree rotation setting only enables the functionality to rotate;

$180_Deg_Rotation_Enable, "Enable 180 Degree Rotation:", &No_Yes_List,
"This feature when set to yes, will enable 180 Degree rotation "
"otherwise, the rotation functionality will be disabled."

It looks like after enabling this functionality we should still actually rotate it in the GOP driver?

$180_Deg_Rotation_Enable 1 bit ; 180 degree rotation enable for LFP in GOP driver.

Can we do this?

This setting is clearly different from the VGA driver rotation:

$Rot_Enable, " Enable Rotation:", &No_Yes_List,
"This feature when set to yes, will allow for rotation. "
"Otherwise, when the feature is set to no, "
"the rotation functionality will be disabled within the driver."

@snixel

Thinking what needs to be done easier.
Since this problem is only on the notebooks, need to find such a notebook in the BIOS of which there is a GOP 109x and see the settings.

Updated the collection of GOP VBT and OROM VBIOS.

Added by OROM VBIOS CFL 1019 and CFL/CML 1023.
These files are not cleared from the settings. But you can use them to transfer your settings using CloneVBT.
For 1019 all 1000-1018
For 1023 all 1020-1022

where can I find the 1000-1018 vBIOS for CFL as mentioned in the word file included in the All Collections compressed file?

@lanzaozijun

Unfortunately, the VBIOS and BSF source files for CFL are not available.

Hello. I have OROM VBIOS 2179. Can I update this to Haswell/Broadwell 1044? Or OROM VBIOS 2180 is latest for me? Haswell i7 4700MQ, mobile chipset HM86.

Yes.

There is no particular difference between 2179 and 2180

Tested SKL VBT 211 + GOP 1092 , everything works well.
ECS Z170 BLADE + I9 9900 ES QQBZ

@SoniX

Intel CFL/CML VBIOS 9.0.1025

VBIOS 9.0.1025.zip (38.9 KB)

Thanks @Pacman.

Added to collection.
Use CloneVBT to upgrade. Only for previous versions 1020-1024.

@SoniX - do you have the Intel PDFā€™s for SNB, that I need to update from 2104 to latest, this post describes some information on items need removed at a few interim update positions
ASUS K93SM BIOS MOD

@Lost_N_BIOS

I do not have PDF files for the SNB/IVB.

For such a radical transfer of settings 2104 -> 2170/2171 only manual intervention is needed.
Open both versions in BMP and comparing each item to make the necessary changes.
You will also need to check new options that were not in 2104, and configure them if necessary.

Thanks @SoniX , I assumed Iā€™d maybe have to do manually. The user at link above ended up answering right away and had PDF from 2170, so Iā€™ll have itā€™s change log / notes to use to guide me.

Is this PDF something you could possibly provide Lost_N_BIOS?

Quick question:

Should I update manually using MMTool + IBMP or CloneVBT if I want to upgrade from SNB/IVB 2137 to 2171?

Is there any difference or benefit using one over the other?

Cheers.

EDIT: Nevermind, got it working. Both motherboards with a Celeron G1610 and another one with a Core i7-3770. Once again, thank you for the resources.

Sorry to disturb, Iā€™m triyng for the first time to update VBT using Intel BMP, I get a lot of ā€œUnable to find symbolā€, do I have to ignore them? I canā€™t proceed, it says ā€œapply correct settingsā€ Z170 platform from 207 to 228ā€¦
Thanks!

@gpvecchi

Better to start, upgrade to 221 and check the result.

@SoniX Iā€™m getting error 404 on the cloud.mail.ru links on the first page - any chance to mirror on mega?

@chinobino
Oops! Sorry. Fixed. .Now everything is on MEGA.

Many thanks, 221 ended without errors. Tried from 221 to 228 and I get same errors, so Iā€™d say not compatible with my motherboard.
