@Lost_N_BIOS
I only have this file, which was taken from the tempo folder, flashed
On another computer, I tried it too, but in this case, it is not sewn through the crisis mod
So, it’s FH50Q.bin, yes? What is the file size in KB?
If 9.83KB, is MD5 checksum >> F2E1B6C453B659E8ED7EF6D4E11391AD
And, if yes, did you edit this before and still Crisis flash OK?
@Lost_N_BIOS
File size and hash amount are the same
Can you then make a mod so that the file size is the same?
Edit : No, I myself have not tried to edit the BIOS and protect it through the crisis mod
I tried to change the allocated memory for video memory, unfortunately everything is the same
Yes, thanks. This is what I asked you at post #18, but you never answered, or didn’t get what I meant
Ahh, so if you have not flashed in mod BIOS by Crisis method, then this is still untested and likely to fail as well!
Previously you said you flashed in mod BIOS with crisis method, but now you said you have not. I bet it will fail
Here is mod not cut from 9.83MB image, signature is broken thus you probably will not be able to flash I assume

Allocated video memory is decided by chipset and OS, not the BIOS
@Lost_N_BIOS
This BIOS was flashed, the indicator was blinking. The laptop turned on. But there are no additional settings.
Then BIOS was not flashed, or you would see two new menu sections across the top (additional Advanced + Power sections)
Blinking indicator was probably while it checked the file, and then decided no etc. This edit already confirmed working, if it does not show in your BIOS now then mod BIOS was not flashed in (
See images in post #1 here, this is how it should look after it does get flashed or programmed in - [Help]Full Unlocked Acer Nitro 5 AN515-43
You need flash programmer
@Lost_N_BIOS
Okay
But still, it is possible to change the amount of video memory
Okay
But still, it is possible to change the amount of video memory
Here is a video, only this is MSI with AMI , but the settings in AMD CBS are almost identical, there the author changes the frequency of the RAM and the amount of video memory https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkJ85lX_Udo
See my edit above! Wow, you reply too fast
Allocated Video memory amount is controlled by windows (and how much memory you have installed) and your chipset
Dedicated video memory (DVMT) can be changed by BIOS usually, but I don’t find it in your BIOS, however half of the advanced area is obfuscated by them on purpose and I cannot see all the settings inside easily so you’d need to unlock BIOS and send me images, so I could unlock rest if any missing, then you could change maybe.
This really only applies to onboard graphics from CPU not PCIE graphics which your system is probably using
MSI BIOS is unrelated to Acer BIOS, one is good and proper (MSI - AMI) and other is limited OEM BIOS (Acer Purposefully limited Insyde)
CBS is not where any of this would be changed usually either
@Lost_N_BIOS
In the first post I attached the module AMD CBS and IFR from it
Can I do something with it and change the allocated video memory?
I myself have tried to change other settings in this module(AmdSetup), like Core Performance Boost (Turbo Boost) and the changes were immediately visible.
I found a video of how the AMD CBS tab on Acer should look like
https://youtu.be/HceE1Gk9Z8g?t=49
I don’t need to download any CBS or IFR from it, I have the BIOS so can create my own, which I already did as we worked on this, for setup and PBS as well
Allocated video memory is not correct way to describe what you wanted, so my comment above was a little confusing I guess
UMA Buffer = Shared memory, not allocated, more like dedicated - But this maybe means same to you, depending on what you’re looking at on windows side
No need to see video, I can see the CBS contents directly
We already changed what you wanted there, or at least I showed you how in post #13, but you never commented on testing the change
Since you used this method to change Turbo, do same for UMA as you originally wanted.
If you tried and it didn’t work, try just change 0xD4 + 0xD5 >> FF FF >> Change to 00 02 = 512MB, and leave 0xD6 + 0xD7 FF FF << This is improper, only mention in case you wanted to try and below/proper failed or something
If that does not work, then do as I originally mentioned >> 0xD4 - 0xD7 >> 00 02 00 00 << BUT this “Should” be correct, and I would test first!
Get a flash programmer, then we can unlock your BIOS = Complete full Advanced, Power, reveal all hidden settings in CBS etc
Or, if you have not already, please see post #2, and see if you can dump/flash the BIOS via linked method at “Annex” section in post #1 << With this, we can flash in unlocked BIOS without programmer, if that will work on your system
@Lost_N_BIOS
Hello
I tried to change to 00 02 00 00 and 00 02 FF FF, unfortunately, everything is the same
Here is a photo of my changes, as you said before, resized in width to 800-1000 px
http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fil…783281137843456
Then windows is controlling whatever you are looking at this value in on windows side. What are you using, GPU-z, some windows system info, or what?
If you’re looking at anything “Windows” such as system info, or task manager anywhere, it’s always going to show a lot more than actual reserved, due to how win10 shares memory
Those values are not in actual use, or reserved, but it’s based on a % of total installed memory and may appear to you as if it’s being used.
For example, my graphics card is 4GB, but windows shows shared GPU memory 16GB and total GPU memory 20GB (DXDiag also shows similar)
I have 32GB memory installed, those numbers would all be different if I remove 16GB of memory
00 02 00 00 is the correct thing to set for 512MB.
Check what I mentioned on post #2, lets see if we can get you unlocked BIOS flashed in that way, if not you will need to order flash programmer setup.
@Lost_N_BIOS
I am using GPU Z
Here is a screenshot of what it shows with the value 00 02 00 00 set
http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fil…404250222873264
Now I’ll look at post # 2.
Edit: Unfortunately, the method from post # 2 didn’t work.
What is your CPU model? It may always show that, no matter what you set.
Look at task manager >> Performance >> GPU (and look at bottom, area, you will see 3 values).
Check this with stock BIOS and then with changed values via RU - Does it look same there, both ways?
As for mod BIOS, then you will need to get flash programmer to flash in mod BIOS here
How exactly did method from post #2 not work for you?
@Lost_N_BIOS
Processor Model - AMD Ryzen 5 3550h
I checked, in the task manager, too, it is always 2GB in the standard value and changed to 512MB
The method with a BIOS backup with Flashrom did not work
So you can dump BIOS with flashrom, but cannot flash it back?
You make the backup with flashrom, then try to flash it back. ONLY files made with flashrom right then you flash with flashrom. If success, then I can edit that, then you flash it back.
I mention this due to how you said "backup" made me think you were trying to flash some other previous backup/file/BIOS etc.
@Lost_N_BIOS No, I cannot dump and I cannot flash it.
What error do you get when trying to make the backup? Show me image
Obviously, if you cannot backup anything, then there is nothing to flash, so you should not have been trying to flash anything (AT ALL!)
@Lost_N_BIOS
Now I can not enter everything in FreeDOS, the BIOS does not see the flash drive
I ordered a programmer, it will be easier for us to do this when the programmer comes to me (1-4 months)
