@kyriacos : If you want to get more garbage within the PC’s drive C, run the installer of an outdated package.
What lets you think, that the currently used Intel chipset INF files need to be updated? Intel doesn’t care about old chipsets.
@Fernando
The latest "official" INF (with installer) is 10.0.26. How can a newer package be outdated?
@kyriacos : Don’t mix the Installer version with the version of the INF files. An Intel chipset INF file version 10.0.26 doesn’t exist.
Attached is a list with the latest versions of all available Intel chipset INF files for all Intel CPU series from SandyBridge up to the latest.
Readme.txt (59.4 KB)
@Fernando
I don’t mix anything. Intel INF 10.0.26 does exist and is compatible with Windows 7. You are listing versions that are compatible with Windows 10.
@kyriacos :
Please attach the Intel INF files v10.0.26. Then I can check, whether you really have installed “the latest” ones for your mainboard’s chipset.
By the way - Intel’s chipset INF files are simple text files and do support all 32/64bit Windows Operating Systems from Win7 up.
I am talking about the Intel INF with installer and not the text files.
What do you mean with "Intel INF"?
All Intel "Chipset Drivers" are simple text files with the extension ".inf" (instead of ".txt").
You can open them and read their content with the Window Editor named notepad.exe.
@Fernando
The 10.0.26 and 10.1.1.38 that I tried are installers (executable files) and not simple text files.
@kyriacos : An executable file with the extension *.exe is the Installer and not the "driver" (= *.inf file).
The version of the *.exe file (= Installer) has nothing to do with the version and the age of the driver(s), which may be installed by executing it.
@Fernando
The driver version for chipset that is installed now is 10.1.1.38. Trying to manually update with latest "pure" Intel Chipset Device INF Files v10.1 Series WHQL finds no newer driver.
@kyriacos :
According to my knowledge these 2 INF files v10.1.3.1 dated 10/04/2018 are the latest for your Intel 9-Series Chipset system and within the package I am offering within the start post:
(Note: The correct date will not be shown by the Device Manager, for details please read the start post.)
@Fernando
Is 10.1.3.1 included in the latest "pure" Intel Chipset Device INF Files v10.1 Series WHQL? Because 10.1.1.38 is unchanged even if I try to manually update. Maybe the Hardware Ids are missing from the INF files?
Yes.
Your currently installed and probably older INF files will not be updated automaticly, because the Company Intel has dated all recently released Intel chipset INF files 07/18/1968.
If you want to get the newer, but wrongly dated INF files installed, you have to force the installation by using the "Have Disk" button.
@Fernando
I tried to use the “Have Disk” button, but I couldn’t find the device (chipset) I was looking to install. I also tried to open the INF files and I couldn’t find the Hardware Ids that I have.
Which are the HardwareIDs of your Intel Chipset devices (I need them only for 1 device, no matter which one).
@Fernando
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8CC4&SUBSYS_50011458&REV_00
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8CC4&SUBSYS_50011458

@kyriacos : The HardwareIDs verify, that your on-board CPU belongs to the Lynxpoint-HRefresh Series.
You will find the newest INF files within the folder "Lynxpoint-HRefresh" of the package named "Latest "pure" Intel Chipset Device INF Files v10.1 Series WHQL comp. at 04/01/2021".
@kyriacos :
As you can see here, the related INF file named Lynxpoint-HRefreshSystem.inf has been correctly digitally signed by Microsoft on 10/04/2018:
