Dieter: Do you know how many people think that they are installing drivers, or they think that the INF files are the drivers. Even after Intel had to change the name because of this problem, they still think that updating to a new version of the INF installer, that these embedded drivers will be better.
Good old Intel, started this whole mess with Chipset Driver installer. LOL
Hope all is well, I see your site is just amazing, I really hope you’re doing well.
well… i also "recommend" to install those "drivers" but it’s funny to see that still everyone thinks these packages are drivers
Yes, depending on OS. But if windows see the Bus, roots and loads the lab build version as driver, then there is absolutely no reason to install the INF as it has zero effect. Even if you do run the software, you’ll notice for the Bus, there is no driver and it didn’t load the INF, but it changes from Micro to Intel.
Yes, and there are a lot of "experts" in other Forums, who write, that the Intel Chipset "Drivers" are the most important drivers at all and have to be installed at first - otherwise everything else will not work properly.
It was not only Intel, who named these text files "drivers", Microsoft shows the INF files still as "drivers" within the Device Manager.
Until now everything is fine with the Forum and with me.
Hello people! At the first post noticed that version 10.0.27 is for newer Intel Chipsets from 8-Series up. But at official Release Notes (https://downloadmirror.intel.com/20775/e…s%2010.0.27.htm) I couldn’t find “Chipset 8-Series” from listed supported devices. Could you tell me please how v.10.0.27 is compatible with Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H (i think it is 8-Series) ? My OS Win.8.1-x64., i7-4770. Thanks in advance
It is just the included file named Chipset_SMBus.inf, which will support the SMBus of Intel 8-Series Chipset mainboards like yours. It will name it "Intel Device".
Hi! I observed the same as you did: I have an ASUS P6T board (released in the beginning of 2009). When I use the Intel chipset package provided by ASUS after having installed Win 7 SP1, the installer forces the installation of everything one can imagine - although Windows 7 has already installed every chipset device. Moreover two of the installed ASUS "drivers" were published back in 2008 . Therefore I am quite sure that ASUS uses the -overall command in its custom installer…
Another thing: I often asked myself why Intel lists CPUs in its release notes as supported devices. As far as I know the Intel chipset device software is released for the mainboard/chipset (as the name states) and not for the processor. Apart from that: in the screenshot there is only Intels 9 series chipset listed as compatible chipset - but 9 series chipset does not support CPUs like 2n/3rd generation Core processors. Why are they listed in Intel’s release notes then?? Does anybody understand this?
You obviously misunderstood the way Intel is sorting their Chipset Device INF files. Not the CPUs themselves are supported by the INF files, but the INF files are sorted according the CPU generation, to which the related Intel chipset belongs.
Sorry, I don’t understand it completely Can you explain it based on my screenshot above?
Ok: 9 series is capable of 4th & 5th generation Core processors. But 2nd & 3rd generation isn’t supported by 9 series. So why are the listed?? And why does Intel list chipset terms and simultaneously cpu terms?
No, but I cannot see anything within your screenshot, which says that. Intel had listed the Intel systems, which are supported by the related Intel Chipset Device Software. According that list Intel systems with an Atom/Celeron/Pentium Processor, with a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Gereneration Intel Core Processor and Intel 9-Series Chipsets are supported by the related Intel Chipset Device Software package.
They are listed, because the systems with such CPU are supported by the related INF file package.
I have bought a new computer: CPU: Intel Core i5 4460 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H81M-S1 (Intel H81 Express) Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 Ti
Can i install Windows XP SP3 to this new computer? Is it possible to install needed Intel Chipset Drivers (INF files) on this OS? I have found your extracted drivers (INF files): Intel Chipset Device “Drivers” (= INF files) "These INF files do support all Windows Operating Systems from XP (32/64bit) up." Or i do really need to install Windows 7 on this new PC? I don’t want to do it for many reasons. Therefore i need your help. Please don’t leave my message without your answer. I have tried to install (for test purposes) INF_allOS_9.4.0.1027.exe on my current old computer (XP SP3, AMD Phenom 9550) and i got the message that it’s impossible for some reason (in the Russian).
Yes, you can install the related already extracted INF files for your Intel Chipset after having completed the XP installation from within the Device Manager (look for devices with a yellow flag).
I installed this version 10.1.1.13 of 10/28/15 for a z170 chipset on windows 10. In device manager I was able to update each element one by one using "search for an update" : windows update downloaded drivers of the same number version but the date was 29/11/15. Just the date is different or the driver content too ?
