Intel (Converged Security) Management Engine: Drivers, Firmware and Tools (2-15)

@ tecnics:

None. Update the driver to the latest which is 11.0.0.1157. You have a 1.5MB system so the INF by itself is enough if you know how to install it via Device Manager. Otherwise, the Installer.

Ok i Have install now 11.0.0.1157 MEI-Only Installer but again 1 question :slight_smile:

You see pictures UNS and LMS version What are these? because writing is not available…? Is it true that such…

Thanks…

Go back to 101 page and take a look at @plutomaniac and my screens - it’s normal and these two options are disabled…

Thx…

Hello guys, I wanted to update my Gigabyte GA-X79-UD3 with the latest ME firmware. How to use Windows 10 operating system 64-bit. What’s the last available and where powers find it? I’ve seen many versions but I would not do damage trying to use one wrong. Thank you, see you soon.

@ puket:
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

Regarding the update of the Intel ME Firmware there is no difference to other 64bit Windows Operating Systems.

Within the start post of this thread.

If you are unsure regarding the Intel ME Firmware branch (ME7 or ME8) of your system, I recommend to run the related Intel MEInfo tool first.

Regards
Dieter (alias Fernando)

Thank you.

@ tecnics:

MEBx, UNS & LMS are 5MB firmware features. You have the 1.5MB SKU so they are not available.

@ puket:

Make sure you have the latest BIOS from Gigabyte first (F20). Then update to the latest ME8 1.5MB firmware using the ME8 tools. Read the first post for more information.

@Fernando ,
Seems MEI driver v11.0.0.1160 "install only" is missing in post #1 (to replace v11.0.0.1157 version) because MEI Package v11.0.0.1162 offers driver v11.0.0.1160.
I use at the moment v11.0.0.1160 MEI driver 1.5 mb consumer on my ASUS x99 in pairing with MEI firmware v9.1.32.1002, and that combination works fine.

I have that latest ME 8 Consumer 1,5Mb Firmware v8.1.65.1586 combined with the Intel MEI Driver v11.0.0.1160 INF for manual installation.
All seems working fine on my Z77 Intel Chipset 7 series too.

No, it is not missing there. Please have a deeper look into the start post or read N607’s last post.

Thread note: Text formatting, coloring etc on update posts takes too much time. From now on the update posts will look simpler.

@Fernando
@plutomaniac

I see now MEI driver "install only" v11.0.0.1157 has been well updated to v11.0.0.1160 in post #1.
This is the last proper MEI version working fine on all my platforms (Series 7 and Series 9).

About FWUpdate Tool I used v 9.1.2.1000 for my Series 9 and Series 7 machines.
I read in post #1 I should use FWUpdate Tool v 8.1.40.1456 to update Series 7 machine.
But when flashing my Serie 7 machine with a Serie 9 tool I got no warning message stating I used a wrong version, and flashing was completed with success.
Can we conclude FWUpdate versions are down compatible ?

FWUpdate Tool for Series 9 and Series 7 are different…

@100PIER
What is the chipset of your 7-series mobo?
Which version of Me firmware does-it have before upgrade?

@plutomaniac
@Fernando
Do you think it’s possible to upgrade 8.1 firmware to 9.1?

Ghostearth.

Intel ME 11.0 Consumer PCH-H Firmware v11.0.0.1168 from EXTR → RGN (clean)
Intel MEI Driver MEI-Only Installer from v11.0.0.1160 → v11.0.0.1163

Note: Be on the look out for firmware 11.0.0.1171

@ 100PIER & Ghostearth:

Listen to ex58. It’s as he says. You cannot use tools for other platforms and you cannot use firmware for other platforms. You cannot use 9-series tools on 7-series systems and you cannot upgrade to 9-series firmware on 7-series systems. These facts are clearly stated at the first post, please read it carefully.

@Plutomaniac,
Sorry for the confusion, I had respected the proper FWUpdate version when updating my ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe MEI firmware.

Intel MEI Driver MEI-Only Installer v11.0.0.1163
In the archive the driver of the same version 11.0.0.1160

Intel ME 11.0 Consumer PCH-H Firmware v11.0.0.1168
It works, thank you!

@ jjxaker:

Yes, the package is 1163 but the driver is still 1160. If it included newer drivers I would have updated the INF as well.

What do you mean 1168 works? Do you have a Skylake system?
