I need a little support. I just run the live update from app center on my Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 5. I noticed a new chipset driver so I went to here:
http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/305…lity-tools.html
to check for even more current drivers. I updated lan, chipset and Irst drivers. I could not update to intel management engine 11 (probably because its for skylake). I noticed this firmware update for the ME. So being cautious I looked for some instructions on how to go about it which lead me ultimately here. I have tried the MEinfoWin64 from both 9.1 & 9.0 versions (me_9.1.2.1000_flash_info & ME9.0 MEInfo v9.0.22.1467). Both come up with an error:

I have installed Intel MEI Driver v11.0.0.1163 MEI-Only Installer and I have Firmware 9.1.32.1002 but I get the same error as in quote of my last post. Should I attempt to flash in DOS or try to get MEinfo working?
Edit:
I used ME Analyzer v1.3.4, it tells me I have driver 11.0.0.1160 & firmware 9.1.21.1000 and I have F6 bios for my motherboard. If I update my motherboard bios is Intel ME firmware overwritten?
Still getting the error with Intel MEInfo Tool for ME 9.1 Firmware v9.1.20.1020 (For 9-series systems which come with ME firmware v9.1.x *)
"Error 9459: Internal error (Could not determine FW features information)"
I ran MEmanuf64.exe (ME9.1 MEManuf v9.1.10.1000)
I ran MEmanuf.exe without HWiNFO.exe, MSI afterburner and speedfan running in background:
Success FW updated, verified with MEmanuf64.exe
Thanks to one guy on guru3d forum he linked special performance MEI driver for z97 so far i test it its still best then all others what intel released intel removed these performance settings on latest drivers its up on biostar download page its not even in staition-drivers

Margus,

Why this release is so special ?

So try out if any better but i think its bring happy face. All rest mei drives its like downgrade.

@ megatron:
I don’t understand. That post is full of quotes, text and contradicting pictures. Can you explain simply what’s the problem and what are the questions?
@ Margus:
There is no “special performance” MEI driver. Use the latest provided at the first post after reading the instructions.
I just have downloaded and extracted this package.
It contains the Intel MEI driver v11.0.0.1160 and the Intel MEI Software v11.0.0.1163.
Yes, my mistake. The parenthesis at my previous post should say (driver 1160) and not 1166. Fixed.
If you mean that the package is called 1171, that’s normal. It means that this driver & software package came from 1171 Intel Kit. For INF I show the .inf file version. For MEI-Only Installer I show the mup.xml file version. For Driver & Software I show the Intel Package Kit version.
Also, we should soon find 11.0.0.1173 firmware. The 1166 INF comes from such a package.
I also think (as Fernando) that Intel MEI Drivers & Software v11.0.0.1171 for Consumer systems complete package should be
Intel MEI Drivers & Software v11.0.0.1163 for Consumer systems complete package.
@ Fernando & ex58:
I agree, it’s confusing for no reason. Renamed to 1163 at the thread & mediafire. Keep in mind that the folder once extracted still says 1171 as I don’t want to re-upload it such for a name change.
So for INF I use the version from .inf file (duh…) and for MEI-Only & Package I use the mup.xml version.

I tried updating from .1163 Package to .1167 Package and got an ‘irrecuperable error’ when installing it on my P8Z77 machine.
Installing Driver Only (.1166) is OK.
I no longer user Package Set.
This is a good decision.
Nevertheless here is my advice for everyone, who wants to update any "Drivers & Software" Set:
It is better to uninstall the old software and to reboot, before you run the installer of the new package.
Only this way you can avoid any software version mismatch.
I have updated yesterday the driver v1160 INF Only to the v1166 using again the INF Only with the latest official Intel package MEI_allOS_1.5M_8.1.40.1416 already installed, so far no probs on my Z77 machine.
Have you seen the date of the latest Intel ME package? It had been published at 10/14/2013.
Furthermore are the Intel ME driver and the Intel ME Firmware different things.
The error message is coming when you try to update a ‘driver only’ installed driver with the ‘full package software’.
Keeping the ‘driver only’ strategy is the more efficient and easy way.
Switching from ‘driver only’ to ‘full package software’ way and to avoid any error installation needs first a clean uninstall of the current driver, reboot, then replace the native MS MEI driver with the new MEI piece of software.
The Intel ME driver and the Intel ME Firmware are completely different things.
I know…
official Intel package MEI_allOS_1.5M_8.1.40.1416 is the "Driver & Software" package (driver v9.0.0.1287).
Nothing to do with the firmware one.
That said, it works fine along INF Only to have a newer driver with this old package.
