Hi guys,

Was wondering if there is an old fashioned EFI Shell Intel Raid driver out there? Trying to get my raid array recognized inside an EFI Shell running out of Tianocore’s Duet Coreboot. What I would like to do is if its possible is to disable the old fashioned raid controller and within the Tianocore Shell load the UEFI raidDriver and then continue to load windows from there. Anyone know if this can be modded to work?

Thanks

Notes:
  • This Intel RaidDriver has not only an extraordinary version numeration (the last number group has 5 numbers instead of 4), but gave my Intel Z170 system in combination with the brandnew Intel RST(e) RAID driver v15.5.0.1051 absolutely outstanding RAID0 benchmark results. For details look >here< (the results will be online within a few minutes).
  • The Intel RAID ROM/EFI RaidDriver platform v15 has been designed by Intel for the latest Intel Chipsets from 100-Series up and may not correctly work with older Intel chipset systems. So I do not recommend to insert this Intel RAID module into the BIOS of any older Intel chipset.
  • Thanks to SoniX for the source file. I found it by chance within his UBU tool v1.66.1.

Enjoy the new/updated Intel EFI RAID module!

I posted it here a few months ago, but as it contains the text “INTERNAL USE ONLY” and the unusual version
it should probably be considered a dev test version.

Would be very interesting what was changed. Has anyone a version that was released directly after this one?

Yes, according to my recent RAID0 benchmark results I got with this extraordinary EFI RAID module, Intel must have changed a lot.

It is not easy to find out, at which date a special RaidDriver has been compiled. According to the file date the RaidDriver v15.5.0.32794 has been compiled not later than 12/21/2016.

It is impossible for anyone outside Intel to know what build came after the 15.5.0.32794, but at least most of the 15.5.0.28xx builds are newer.

I don’t think they changed a lot. Since this version is for internal use only i suspecpt they turned some switches regarding "flow control", data integrity or something like that. I suspect the "correct" version number is 15.5.0.2794. So a version .279x of the ROM would be interesting.

Since I am curious to know, if it was just the Intel RST(e) RAID driver v15.5.0.1051 or the EFI RaidDriver v15.5.0.32794, which gave my RAID0 this nearly increadable WRITE performance boost, I am going to flash a BIOS, which contains the EFI RaidDriver v15.5.0.2875 and do an additional benchmark test with my RAID0 system.
Maybe we will know more, when I have the results.

Is there any 279x EFI available?

Maybe in the laboratories of Intel, but not here.
