These packages contains the drivers plus the Intel ProSET Software, this is an app for easy changing the settings available on your adapters. Users can download the "pure" drivers and still change these settings using the device manager.
These packages contains only the .INF drivers for manual installation. All the "pure" drivers available here are NDIS68 (6.8), this version supports Windows 10 Version 1709+ There's a nice post explaining all the NDIS from Microsoft, posted >here< by user e.v.o
Drivers for i217, i218, i219 Adapters:(Updated 03/30/22)
Edit by Fernando: Since the start post of this thread hasn’t been updated since a very long time, I have removed the word “latest” from the thread title.
@Nyamp : Thank you very much for having started this new thread, which has already been “stickied” by me. Well done! As a consequence I have marked the former thread about the same topic as being “OUTDATED” and closed it.
Here are some tips from my side:
It would be a good idea to add download links to the latest “pure” drivers for other Intel Ethernet Adapters like the i210/211 and i225 ones (your linked drivers do only support the i217/218/219 ones).
Download links are better visible for the users, if they are marked with another color and put into angled brackets.
Please add a link to >this< post written by e.v.o or enter the related NDIS list into the start post.
MSI made public their 25.2 release, which weirdly enough have a different, newer driver, 12.19.0.10. Here’s the full link to MSI’s driver package: https://download.msi.com/dvr_exe/mb/Intel_Network_WT.zip It installed just fine for my Z370 motherboard. I could’ve extracted the drivers alone from it, but I thought it’s better to just post the link to the mainstream, legitimate website. A bit weird that the same 25.2 driver comes with different actual versions, I have no idea what MSI got them from, it just is what it is. Drivers are signed 22 Jul 2020.
A new Intel Network Connections Software Version 25.3 WHQL is available at Station-Drivers. Attached is the new "pure" 64bit Intel i217-i219 Ethernet driver v12.19.0.13 WHQL for Win10 x64 dated 08/26/2020 (with DPInst tool).
Pure Drivers for i217, i218, i219: 12.19.0.10 → 12.19.0.13
Edit: Change Notice, September 24, 2020: The 25.3 complete driver pack has been removed from Download Center for updates and will be replaced with the upcoming 25.4 release.
Edit 2: (10/16/2020) Complete Pack v25.4 is now available.
@Nyamp : Via Windows Update there is a new Win10 x64 Intel Ethernet driver v12.19.0.16 WHQL dated 09/29/2020 available for I217-I219 Controllers. I have attached it.
@Nyamp : The new Intel Network Connections Software 25.6 is now available (look >here<). Attached is the new 64bit Intel i217-i219 Ethernet driver v12.19.1.32 WHQL for Win10 x64, which I have extracted from the 659 MB sized Software Set 25.6.
@tormento : It is possible to modify the latest Intel Ethernet drivers, but it is very unlikely, that they will properly work with old hardware. All chipset manufacturers concentrate their efforts in the development of the best possible support of modern and not of old/outdated devices. If a specific new Ethernet driver is not compatible with old Network Controller models, it wouldn’t help to add missing HardwareIDs into the related *.INF files and to give the modded driver a digital signature. What is the reason for your request? Do you have any problem with your specific on-board Intel Network Controller or do you just want an Intel Ethernet driver, which has recently been compiled by Intel?
The latter. I wanted to squish every bit of performance from my gigabit ethernet since I got real fiber connection. I hoped it was as "simple" as with AHCI and RAID drivers.
@toouur : Drivers and Firmware are different things (drivers have to be installed, Firmwares have to be flashed). This is a thread about Intel Ethernet/LAN drivers.
