Hello. I’m looking for optiona ROMs to update old ASUS P5LD2 mobo. That is:
8086:27C3 [82801GR/GH (ICH7 Family) SATA RAID Controller]
1283:8211 [Integrated Technology Express, Inc. ITE 8211F Single Channel UDMA 133 (ASUS 8211 (ITE IT8212 ATA RAID Controller)) (rev 11) ]
11AB:4362 [Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller]
Didn’t found any of them on a forum. The main my need is that IDE controller during boot waits too much time, 10 or even 15 sec, after it continues to boot. But also if there is other option ROMs updates I’ll update them.
Thanks.
What is your exact motherboard model? Asus P5LD2 is a series and thus not specific enough.
Asus P5LD2 - is exact model. Here is support page: http://www.asus.com/ua/supportonly/P5LD2/HelpDesk_download/
Which mode (IDE/AHCI/RAID) is your Intel SATA Controller running?
An update of the Intel RAID ROM has no effect unless the Intel SATA ports are running in RAID mode.
By the way: Which are the versions of the Option ROM modules you want to update?
Hello, Fernando. Usually I’m set up AHCI mode. With SATA all is ok. The only problem is long IDE scanning during boot from devices connected as I understood to IDE controller (not SATA). There is only DVD-RW drive on it.
If you explain how to identify it from BIOS file / Option ROM modules, I’ll tell you which version is in original 2002 latest BIOS.
I doubt, that will solve your problem by updating the Option ROMs, which are within the BIOS.
You should better check your SATA/IDE drives.
Since you haven’t given us a link to the BIOS of your mainboard (ASUS web sites don’t even know a P5LD2), I have not idea regarding the BIOS type (AMI, Phoenix/Award) of your maonboard.
Earlier I’ve already gave a link in #3 massage of his post to P5LD2 homepage of the Asus website. Here is the link again: http://www.asus.com/supportonly/P5LD2/HelpDesk_download/. Also here is original latest BIOS version: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/sock…/P5LD2-2002.zip. The BIOS type is AMI. Also this issue, if to search on Google, experiencing many people. And the only recommended solution is to update BIOS.
P.S. I can’t check what versions of options ROMs turning on the exact machine because it is in other part of the city now. And I’ll get to it only at Thursday.
Here you go Fernando. It’s a 0.5MB AMI Aptio 8 (MMTool v3.26) image and it contains:
RAID oROM: v5.0.0.1032
DEV_ID: 27C3
Uncompressed size: 60.5KB
Whether this is the latest BIOS, I don’t know. At Asus site I have found around 10 P5LD2 boards but none of them is bare. There are P5LD2-SE, P5LD2-VM etc…
Raid_ROM.rar (35.6 KB)
Hello. Could you explain me how you recognized a version of OROM?
Thanks.
You extract the oROM from BIOS in uncompressed form and then open the file with a HEX Editor for best viewing results. Fernando has detailed guides on how to do such things:
[Guide] AMI (non-UEFI) BIOS Modding
Yes, now I remember, I’ve read it long time ago but forgot. Thanks again.
Well, as I understood there is no option ROM updates for that mobos.
