I found it hard to find a bios update for my pcie card and I contacted the manufacturer iocrest and they provided me with a firmware update as attached it may be useful here as there is very little info around on this piticular chipset.
of note I flashed it to my card and all worked as expected

1 week I fight to restore my card after really bad flashing 
Was so bad, that mvf_mag freeze PC, when try to read SPI info. Anyway want to confirm that for 9170 your file is 100% working, also http://netkas.org/?p=1182 shorting pins 4 and 5
also to note, that RevisionID on bad flash was 12 and go back to 13 as it should.
