ME FW abnormal problem

Hi, when i boot-up i get this annoying message:

The ME FW of system was found abnormal.
It is recommended to re-flash system BIOS by M-Flash to ensure normal system operation.

When i checked in bios->settings->system i saw that the ME version is 0.0.0.0
Image

Spec is: H270 motherboard, I7 7700 CPU, 2x8 DDR4 2400MHz

Any ideea how i could fix this issue?
Thx.

Do as the error says. Download the latest BIOS from MSI website and use M-Flash (in-BIOS flasher) to update it.

I had the same version installed when i bought it as the last one on their site, but i still re-flashed. Unfortunately nothing changed.

From the ME thread, download ME System Tools v11.6 and run Flash Programming Tool with command “-greset” (example: fptw -greset). Check if the problem is fixed. If not, run MEInfo -verbose and MEManuf -verbose and post the results here.

After I run fptw64.exe with “-greset” the system rebooted, but still same error (and also version ME 0.0.0.0 in BIOS).

From the BIOS version seen at the 1st post picture, I assume you have H270 TOMAHAWK ARCTIC, correct? Use M-Flash and update to this BIOS. The only thing different is a cleaned ME region. I doubt this will help as the ME looks good, this is most probably a BIOS issue. If the problem persists, it’s BIOS related and you should contact MSI support.

Yes, H270 TOMAHAWK ARCTIC. Thanks, I will try the update with the cleaned version.

That’s something else, neither related to your original issue nor the cleaned ME. Maybe some pc case usb port is broken or similar. Search this issue on google.

That’s the first time i saw this message until now…

Make sure you have no usb devices plugged in. Also try clearing CMOS and restore BIOS defaults. Other than that, does it indeed shut down after said seconds? Can you stay at the BIOS or similar? I’m asking just in case you want to flash the stock BIOS back. However, the ME settings were transferred properly/completely during the cleaning guide and I verified them. The way I see it, this is not ME related. It’s BIOS. Both these errors (ME not proper, usb overcurrent) are MSI specific checks. It seems like something is not right at the BIOS and their “health” checks fail. That board is brand new, still at first BIOS release (not unlikely to be buggy) and of course under warranty and proper support from MSI. So I suggest you contact them now telling them that you reflashed the A00 BIOS, the ME error remained and at a next reflash the usb error appeared.

Nope, it does shut down and i can’t get to BIOS.

Clear CMOS as instructed at the manual. If that does not help, your last option is to contact MSI support.

Ok… thx.
