Wow, sorry, but comment at #80 (First one, since I’m merging this now). I don’t understand what you mean at all
For second question + image, you can edit any thing there you want, my edits will remain (all those modules extracted are already in BIOS) The one without M at end of name are the stock module extract, then I put M at end of file name for "Mod" If it’s less confusing for you, copy the mod BIOS I sent you to another folder, then extract your own modules and edit them how you want, the unlock I did will be in there already by default like a stock BIOS
Yes, I extract Setup PE32 As-Is almost always, you see in file name, it does not say “Body” (only for AMITSE or AMITSE/SetupData I use BODY) In your image about DOS Signature invalid (also wrong size), that is not BIOS I sent you, setup PE32 is not that size >> Correct size (As-Is) >> 1CB284h (1880708) >> Right click circled PE32, select extract/replace As-Is, this is “Setup PE32 As-is”
* Edit - This how you should extract and replace, Setup PE32 As-Is >>
With files I sent you, you have to do how I showed here for Setup PE32, since I sent you as-is extractions For AMITSE/SetupData BODY similar, expand to exact module inside, then select it, choose replace BODY
So, you inserted something wrong it looks like, or made some incorrect addition to increase the size etc?
Probably best for you to take my mod BIOS as a whole, put in new folder, then extract your own stuff for edit, that way it’s named how you want and how you are used to extract/replace, then no confusion
See my edit above, maybe I explained it better in edit with 2nd image too. Yes, however you normally are used to extract/replace for anything, you can do that way, just don’t use the extracted files I sent you *unless/until you understand how I extracted them Otherwise, just take mod BIOS I sent you to new folder, then extract however you want, edit, then replace how you are used to doing
I always do Setup PE32 As-Is except when it’s “Insyde BIOS” then I extract BODY of Setup PE32, because then it can be dropped directly into IDA for assembly/disassembly work
I always extract AMITSE PE32 or AMITSE/SetupData as BODY (after expand down to exact module, then select it), no reason for this, just what I am used to doing always, but in some cases it’s best to have file from here as BODY, so I got in habit of doing these BODY
Yes, I do use IDA assembly tool for some editing, but never for any AMI BIOS edits, mainly on Insyde BIOS I use IDA, or other EXE tools I use IDA on sometimes too
I tried to enable the advanced voice on the new version of the bios, I did not succeed with the instructions you sent me in the bios you modified, I am attaching amitsesetupdata and body setup
@Lost_N_BIOS In that menu that I managed to make visible, the memorypatch had changed FormID, I tried some settings but it seems that none of the ones I tried can result, in the sense that it does not apply any changes is this possible?
@pipes80 - Sounds like you did not do mod correctly. To move/swap a menu, you have to change MUCH more than just the formID in Setup PE32. There is setup PE32 edit + AMITSE/SetupData edit changing many things in the element area for the setting you want to swap in, from the element for the setting you are moving there. This is in-depth edit, takes a long time to do because all the data you need to collect and write down first. It is not simple or easy mod to do
*** I already made this mod BIOS for you at post #73 *** AND included my notes, and before/after files there Do you mean there is already new version of the BIOS? If yes, I will have to redo edit, if you can’t figure it all out from my notes and the guides/info below For the new BIOS version, you will have to collect all info again as I outlined in all my notes in each place you see them, because all that info/data may not be same in new BIOS version (often different offsets or variables etc, so you will need to start over, not use same info/data)
in fact I said that the formid has changed in the new bios compared to what you had modified me, I was able to view all the menus as you did, and as in your bios version some settings I tried do not change the settings, for example the vcore neither is the processor frequency changed
Well, if FormID changed, probably lots of other stuff change too. You would need to redo the entire edit for that swap again (not copy/use old info) Vcore not changing, in BIOS I made you? If yes, and you meant that BIOS it’s not, and it was setting in the new hidden advanced, then ignore or hide that setting Obviously you already have correct vcore setting in original BIOS anyway so there is no point to mess with changing it there (Same for CPU freq/multiplier)
I have already made the settings in the advanced menu all visible and editable, the problem is that some of them I tested seem not to make any changes, at the moment I went back and hidden that advanced menu again … to understand if the other settings they really work or not
pipes80… didnt you noticed that Lost is not active anymore since 2020, though you noticed that already buddy.
EDIT: No problem, as you seem a regular user forum, i was just surprised you didnt noticed before…
Tinyupload is down a long time ago… only a user with that made the original download can share it here again, those were personal links, not links from owned/posted by the forum
