@Sylar76 Hi Sylar it appears that you are in the know when it comes to BIOS modding so I am going to ask if it is even possible for you to do one of the following on an ASUS Rampage V edition 10 bios.
Enable Bifurcation support OR
Change my PCIex16 Bus slot settings so they can run X16,X8,X8,X8 with the M.2 drive enabled even if it kills a non X16 slot in the process.
The reason why it I am running an Aorus GTX1080 Ti Extreme on my 1st slot which blocks my 2nd slot, on slot 3 I have and Avago 9361-8i Raid Controller and on the 4th a Mellenox Connect X2 SFP ( All slots referred to are mechanically the x16 slots ).
The problem being my Aorus only wants to run at 8x, Tweaking it requires 16x. If I enable 4 Way config in the ASUS bios which sets things to X16,X8,X8,X8 which is what it is anyway but the 2nd x8 is not being used it kills my M.2.
Basically ASUS have failed to take into account that these days most vid cards will block the 2nd X16 slot. I also tried using the switch to literally turn off the 2nd slot and it made no difference so Bifurcation or a modded BIOS is my only choice because I don’t think ASUS is going to do squat.
If you can’t do it or don’t know what the hell I’m talking about that’s all good but I thought I’d at least ask.
As I don’t get a Rampage V Edition 10 and I’m not skilled regarding Bifurcation support I can’t help you. Maybe @Lost_N_BIOS can.
@Falloutboy - I got your PM, and see your post here, I can help, please make a new thread for your board model and I will get started there helping you with this.
In your thread, please include a zip or 7zip of all your main BIOS pages that are currently visible (main, advanced, boot, save and exit etc), and also include on inside advanced so I can see all the visible submenus (Scroll up/down if needed)
If you can see Intel or IntelRC menu, please also include images inside that as well, all of the IIO contents, mainly root of IIO-IIO3 You can F12 screenshot to USB I believe, then zip those up for me, if you know how please redo the image from BMP to JPG or PNG whichever is smaller, thanks.
Thanks @Sylar76
No problems just to let you know for GMT purposes I live in New Zealand.
I will get together all the information you asked for ASAP and I can do PNG’s which are nice and small.
Communication may be a little patchy though as I am a care provider for people with disabilities and can be needed at the drop of a hat. but when I am home I will keep my browser logged in here so you can see I am about.
Thank you so much as this was becoming a major headache for me.
Make a thread and we’ll get it done We don’t need to be online at same times, it will get done eventually
@Lost_N_BIOS :

Guys i tested all cpu microcodesd best is one click behind the patch spectre!!!the last not good for perfomance
Yes, the fastest Microcode should be 22.
Is that the Extreme or the Extreme Edition 10?
How much of a performance hit is it, surely it can’t be as bad as a 500mhz loss on o/c?
Rampage V Extreme 4101 - Rampage V Extreme 4101
rst - 14.8.2.2397
lan - 0.0.23; 0.1.14
