[Offer] Intel Sandy/Ivy Bridge and Haswell VBIOS modules

Ok. I’m laid UBU 1.7.0 with your GOP version 5.5.1021. If users complain, I will do the replacement for version 5.5.1018.

Yes, checksums the same, i also re-extracted it to make sure, but same checksum. (extracted with UEFITool 0.18.1)

So, possibly a bug in this GOP version, we won’t really know until new version is found, maybe better to put 1018 in UBU in that case.

I have the exact same thought that the problem in the code. Until dismissed in 1021, it is interesting to hear more opinions.
Released UEFITool version 0.18.2.

I think the drivers are limiting the memory, possibly with “MaximumDeviceMemoryConfiguration = 512” in inf file. But I don’t know if the same applies for Haswell.

This problem, if you have selected more than 512 MB, fixed in Version 5.5.1028.
When waiting to appear in different BIOSes.

Here is a more complete pack of old VBIOSes. I’m missing an IronLake 2050 from the pack winxp64_14427.zip, which is only to be found here. Maybe if you know someone who has access to that site.

The archive it is heavily compressed, so maybe it would be a good idea to be offered as a separate file.

I’ve got an ASUS H81M-C motherboard and im trying to mod the latest BIOS with UBU, i can update the GOP Driver either to v5.0.1037 EFI Haswell or v5.5.1023 EFI Broadwell, i guess the Broadwell version won’t work on this motherboard right?.

I am not sure, if it would work, but as long as your system doesn’t have a Broadwell CPU, I would stick with the Haswell GopDriver.

More likely that the work will be. Since Gigabyte already set version OROM and GOP Broadwell on 8-series motherboards.

Anyone managed to get a Haswell 2179 bsf file?, a link would be appreciated.

Use hsw_2180.bsf, VBT 2179 and 2180 compatible version and size.

The future of sandy bridge VBIOS and update?

I think that the new versions for Sandy/Ivy Bridge will be no more, in 2170 the latest version.

Oh, is this why?

Older hardware, makes sense. No need to release updates for something that won’t benefit from them anymore.

Hi and sorry to just barge in here, I was wondering if somebody could answer me this question. I have an Asus Maximus IV Extreme board and I was wondering if it would be possible to uefi fast boot this board? It’s an AMI Aptio 4, Sandy Bridge Mobo. I have an OROM option for UEFI or Legacy, what does this do exactly (uefi option speed things up)? UBU says there’s no EFI GOP driver.

@ kees1869:
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

Your mainboard has an Intel P67 chipset and belongs to the first generation of UEFI supporting mainboards.
That is why the UEFI options are rather limited. You are able to boot a drive in UEFI mode, but only by using the "Compatibility Support Module" (CSM). An extra fast "clean" UEFI boot requires a disabled CSM, but only Intel chipset mainboards from 7-Series up are offering this option and the required EFI BIOS modules.
