OK…this entire time fast boot has been enabled (face palm) so, the NVME was being corrupted every time I “shutdown” which was technically hibernate. Live, learn, remember lol
I still don’t have any audio from the jacks though. Having to use a bluetooth adapter for the time being.
Wow, you know what, as of today, 18-Jun-2022, your BIOS firmware still works. However, I did encounter the issue that the F10b firmware corrupted my main BIOS. Initially, it worked, successfully entered into Windows 10. However, after restarting, the PC cannot even go through the POST stage, it kept resetting itself.
After reading the manual, found out that there is a switch that I can use the backup BIOS to boot. However, the backup BIOS has firmware version of F7, which does not support PCIe NVME boot . So here comes next, try to find a way to reflash the main BIOS using Q-Flash. After googling, found this video on YouTube: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H boot loop / BIOS corruption fix (read instructions). It actually worked! But I have to reflash the main BIOS to F11c which is also provided in this post! Awesome work! Just in case someone corrupted the BIOS like me, follow the instruction in the video description to re-flash your main BIOS as follows:
- Download flash BIOS from gigabyte.
- Uncompress BIOS to USB drive. FAT32 format.
- Flip switch to boot into secondary BIOS
3b) If you have trouble doing this you may need to clear that CMOS SW using push button I show. - Go into Q-Flash
- Change switch to primary BIOS
- Flash primary BIOS with new copy.
6b) If you’re unable to boot after a bit, you may also need to clear CMOS SW on primary BIOS.
Because this awesome mod, I can use my new Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD on PCIe x4 slot. I registered an account just to show my appreciation to @hancor and provide the instructions on re-flash main BIOS for someone like me. Don’t panic, google knows everything
Thank you so much @hancor
Delighted you are up and running with your new “speedy” computer.
A much better result than having to buy a new computer!
Cheers

Hi @hancor, just my curiosity, which tool did you use to modify the Gigabyte BIOS firmware, the MMTool only takes the file with .CAP extension. The gigabyte BIOS firmware does not have any extension but the version number. Thanks.
I used the UEFI BIOS Updater (UBU) mod tools which still work fine with this older UEFI/BIOS.
Cheers

@Teeed Delighted this is still working for those still using older rigs
Enjoy your “new” speedy computer.
