Vielen Dank fuer ihren ausgezeichneten Intel 3.0/3.1 Drivers! I just installed them on an Asrock Z170 Extreme 6+. A few small changes to your process. No āUnknown Deviceā showed up in the DevMgr after the initial controller install, so I just replaced the driver for the xHCI root hub with your step 2 replacement element. After a reboot, everything came up as it should. I now see a variety of specific hubs and devices in my USB listings, instead of a collection of āgeneric USBā drivers. Thanks very, very much!
One more thing: I couldnāt access my machine when I rebooted the first time without also installing the root hub driver. I was able to use RDP to remote into the machine and roll back the driver to regain control. After that I followed the slightly amended process I documented above, and everything went swimmingly.
Thanks again! Best Weinachtswuenschen an Allen!

HA!
I take it all back.
The drivers DO work butā¦ I had a weird feeling something was not right on several occasions since my last post. In the past few days it struck me: my super fast flash drive was extremely slow, copying large files at only about 20-30MB/s. I fully reformatted it without any luck.
This morning I remembered the modded drivers. I thought, what the hell, and installed the old 1.0.10.255 driver back. Boom, 200MB/s.
So obviously, the driver code is very different and there is something about "if it works, donāt fix it" approach after all.
EDIT by Fernando: Unneeded parts of the fully quoted posts removed (to save space)
Good day to all guests and especially to Fernando! -)
My rig with ASUS P9X79 motherboard has no Intel USB3 controller (but has ASMedia one disabled in BIOS from the start).
I was curious about that āSwitch Driver - only if applicableā folder content - what Win10 AU will say about it (without installing first two drivers obviously). So I went and imported your certificate. Then I selected PCI Express Root Complex device and started update through browsing to that āSwitch Driver - only if applicableā folder - and Windows stated that driver is found and then asked whether I trust to install software from that vendor (you). On that step I played coward and cancelled.
May be I would get BSODs if I would finish the update. Or may be driver would just sit without job (wasting resources). But may be this switch device has some functions to do even without USB 3 controller on board. Today my curiosity didnt overcome caution. -)<br /><br />PS At work rig (notebook) with Win8.1 I went full length with modded drivers and now music played from external USB drive (connected to external USB3 powered HUB (connected to notebook
s USB3 port)) without hiccups. Thank you Fernando.

Changelog:
Fernando, this "pure" ASMedia USB 3.0+3.1 Drivers (now v1.16.42.1 WHQL dated 11/30/2016 doesn`t work on my rig. Installation goes well, but devices attached to ASMedia USB3 controller do not work. I tried with reboot - without luck. Then I tried complete Drivers and Software Set ASMedia USB 3.0+3.1 Drivers & Software Set v1.16.41.3 and devices do work with them. I noticed that complete bundle contains two subfolders with drivers - "Driver" and "Driver_Win10". May be you uploaded pure drivers bundle without Win10 ones?
Yesterday I have installed the "pure" ASMedia USB 3.1 Drivers v1.16.42.1 onto my Z170 system running Win10 x64. The installation by using the DPInst64.exe file went flawlessly and the attached USB devices work as they should. So I believe, that these drivers have been designed for being used with Win10.
May be you should uninstall Asmedia Drivers and software first and then do what Fernando did. I did that and everything went fine
There were no ASMedia drivers/software prior my attempt with pure drivers bundle. Yesterday I decided to try ASMedia USB3 controller for the first time.
No big deal. I doubt ASMedia team improved much for old controller on my motherboard.
As for "designed for use with Win10", most drivers for Win7 would work with Win10 but it doesn`t count as they were designed for. May be this latest pure bundle has compatibility issues with the model of controller at my motherboard. But fact is - folders with drivers in pure bundle and in complete set do differ.
Sorry for my bad English.
I need the USB driver for Windows XP (motherboard Gigabyte GA-H110M-DS2, IntelĀ® H110 Express Chipset)
Device - VEN_8086&DEV_A12F
"32bit Intel USB 3.0 + 3.1 Drivers v5.0.0.32 mod + signed by Fernando.rar" - this driver does not work (Error: Code 39)
@YuriyCN :
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
According to the related INF files the Intel USB 3.0/3.1 drivers v5.0.0.32, which have been modified and digitally signed by me, should support Windows XP and the HardwareIDs of your on-board Intel USB 3.0/3.1 Controller, but nevertheless your report indicates, that this absolute outdated OS cannot manage these modern USB devices.
I am sorry, but there is nothing I can do to solve this problem.
Happy New Year!
Dieter (alias Fernando)
Driver is installed, but regrettably USB does not work.
Get the error in Device Manager - "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"
Exist other driver for Win XP and HardwareID= VEN_8086&DEV_A12F?
AFAIK there is no such driver available. Only Operating Systems from Win7 up do support Intel USB 3.0 Controllers.

Although the Intel USB 3.0 Controllers are downward compatible and do support USB 2.0 Hub devices as well, they need the USB 3.0 drivers to do that. They do not accept the USB 2.0 drivers.
I donāt know a way how to use Intel USB 3.0 ports while runnig Windows XP.
