[Outdated] USB 3.0/3.1 Drivers (original and modded)

Although the Intel USB 3.0 Controllers are downward compatible and do support USB 2.0 Hub devices as well, they need the USB 3.0 drivers to do that. They do not accept the USB 2.0 drivers.
I don’t know a way how to use Intel USB 3.0 ports while runnig Windows XP.

Thanks you for help. The chipset Intel H110 is not possible to do support for USB 2.0 or 3.0.
I will install Windows 7…

P.S. - Interesting … For Windows XP x64 driver is not well?

Good day!
I found a solution. Read please - How To Enable USB 3.0/3.1 on ASUS and ASRock Z170 Motherboards - http://forum.hwbot.org/showthread.php?t=149951
Please, adapt this driver for Intel H110.

I will try it as soon as I have the required time.

I will wait!
I hope for you. It is very necessary.

You have got to modify driver for Intel H110M chipset?

Actually I have neither the required time nor the needed equipment, but I haven’t forgotten my promise.

Thank you!
I wait good news from you…

@Fernando ,
Is the new Intel USB 3.0/3.1 driver v5.0.1.38 WHQL no need to be modded ? (more ‘universal’ ?)

Good morning Fernando,
Have you seen the freshly updated Intel driver :slight_smile: ?

Maybe a base for your modified drivers in this thread.
Best

Not for Win10…!? Wonder whats latest Win10-driver ( Intel USB3.0/3.1) ??

@100PIER :
All recently released Intel USB 3.0/3.1 drivers incl. the v5.0.1.38 ones are only designed by Intel for being used with Windows 7.

@oduis :
Yes, I have seen the announcement of the new Intel USB 3.0/3.1 drivers at Station-Drivers already yesterday, but I couldn’t download them at that time.
Meanwhile I got them and will present them (original and modded) within the start post of this thread as soon as possible.

@Pete12 :
If you want to use Intel’s USB 3.0/3.1 drivers while running Win10, you have to install the mod+signed variant of them. The latest version is 5.0.1.38 and will be available within the start post of this thread very soon.

I want to keep my drivers original, when possible, we have now installed; Intel(R) USB3.0 Extensible Host Controller-1.0 ( Microsoft) its in System32\Drivers\USBXHCI.SYS
Besides this Intel-driver we have latest Asmedia USB 3.0/3.1-drivers.
I wonder if a newer Intel-driver is available for my Win10-OS ?

This USB 3.0 driver has been compiled by Microsoft and not by Intel.

Has my recent statement been so unclear?
Since Intel has never released any USB 3.0 driver, which natively supports Windows 10, there are no newer drivers delivered by Intel.

@ all:
Update of the Start Post

Changelog:

  • new: 32/64bit Intel USB 3.0/3.1 Drivers v5.0.1.38 WHQL for Win7 dated 11/16/2016
  • new: Intel USB 3.0/3.1 Drivers & Software Set v5.0.1.38 for Win7 dated 12/21/2016 (thanks to Pacman resp. Station-Drivers for the source package)
  • new: 32/64bit Intel USB 3.0/3.1 Drivers v5.0.1.38 mod+signed by me at 01/11/2017

Good luck with these new Intel USB 3.0/3.1 drivers!
Dieter (alias Fernando)

Does Windows XP this new driver support???
Also need support Windows 2003 Server.

@YuriyCN :
The original Intel USB 3.0/3.1 do only support Win7.
Due to my modifications of the related INF files the mod+signed drivers may be usable with all Windows Operating Systems from XP up, but according to my knowledge it is (currently) impossible to get them running with Windows XP. Regarding the W2k3 support you may test it yourself.

Thanks for the great update of the modded Intel USB drivers Fernando. Working great on my Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD4H. Updated all 3 components and USB 3.0 speeds are still going strong

Fernando, do we really need the Inteldriver(Extensible Host Controller USBXHCI.SYS) , while Asmedia USB 3.0/3.1-drivers are installed also ??
If not , maybe better to uninstall the Intel-driver when its not needed ?

It depends on the USB 3.0 ports you are using. The on-board ASMedia and Intel USB 3.0 Controllers are managing different USB 3.0 ports.
By the way: The driver named USBXHCI.SYS is from Microsoft and not from Intel (the Intel USB driver is named IUSB3XHC.SYS).

If you don’t use/need the Intel USB 3.0 ports, you should better disable the Intel USB 3.0 Controller within trhe BIOS.

I have several USB 3.0 ports on this ASUS Z97-K and also 2 USB3.1 ports , these 3.1-ports are connected on a USB 3.1-card , attached on the motherboard.
So the USB 3.0-ports are standard and these 2 USB 3.1-ports are extra ( bought this card later, for connecting on the motherboard to get some more transfer-speed ) I do use USB 3.0/3.1, the 3.1-ports are connected on two external HDDs.
Now is my question , which USB-port is from Asmedia and which ones are from Intel ??
