[Outdated] USB 3.0/3.1 Drivers (original and modded)

download

@rezigooloobin :
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

What does this mean? Which driver do you want to get downloaded or did you try to post a download link?

Regards
Dieter (alias Fernando)

Thank you so much for your effort!! Me and many of those, who have been disadvantaged are grateful for your support :-)!
Sadly, the Intel-Driver for windows 10 x64 doesnā€™t work with me. I got the ASUS Strix Z270F Gaming Motherboard with an Intel Z270 Chipset.
Generic USB xHCI Host Controller is the installed driver at the moment with following Error Code:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)

{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful.

(Somehow, i once restarted my computer and it worked until i had do make another restartā€¦ ā€œIntel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driverā€ was the name in the device manager when it worked)

Hardware_IDs would be following ones:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A2AF&SUBSYS_872F1043&REV_00
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A2AF&SUBSYS_872F1043
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A2AF&CC_0C0330
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A2AF&CC_0C03

With your Intel-Driver, i get following error code:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)

{Device Timeout}
The specified I/O operation on %hs was not completed before the time-out period expired.

Would be happy if you could help me out :slight_smile:

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum and thanks for your report!
Questions:
Which Intel USB 3.0 driver version did you install and how did you do it (manually or by using the DPInst method)?
Regards
Dieter (alias Fernando)

Hi Fernando

I used this one first:
>64bit Intel USB 3.0/3.1 Drivers v5.0.1.38 mod+signed by Fernando<

and after i tried out the DPInst, both with the same error message :frowning:

Im having a problem installing the asmedia drivers.
They simply dont show any sign of life on my Asus sabertooth z77 the intel driver worked flawlessly tho.

Device:
VEN_1B21&DEV_1042

Edit the last working driver seems to be asmedia_1.16.41.3.
I updated my firmware to the latest available version for 1042: 130125

@WaveDave :
Did you install all 3 Intel USB 3.0 drivers in the correct order?
Please check it from within the Device Manager.

@MartPwnS :

Then you should stick to the older ASMedia USB 3.1 drivers.
There are some users, who reported about problems with the newest ones.

the second one is not visible for me - thereā€™s no unknown device :-/

Does that mean, that there is no Intel USB 3.0 Hub Device listed within the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" section of the Device Manager?
If yes, how was the situation before you installed the Intel USB 3.0 drivers?

send driver file to my emaill please

We do not send any files to any eMail address.
Why donā€™t you download the desired driver package yourself?

yes exactlyā€¦ thereā€™s no Intel USB 3.0 Hub Device listet. however, under hidden devices, i found a xhci usb root hub - but canā€™t do anything with it.
it was the same as now - there was the xhci compliant host controller and under system devices PCI Express Root Complex - now thereā€™s the pci bus and the intel usb 3.0 extensible host controller.
btw: the situation does not change, even when i turn on or off the xhci hand off support within the bios.

Check the HardwareIDs of it. This way you can find out, whether it is the Intel USB 3.0 Hub Device or not.

sadly, i cannot check it out anymore, since i thought, iā€™d clean up a bit and uninstalled all hidden devices under universal serial bus controllersā€¦ :-/
itā€™s quiet frustrating - since it worked once, and i donā€™t even know howā€¦ just after a restart without doing something specificallyā€¦

what also seems quite strange, is, that these usb 3.0 ports also donā€™t work before windows loads. so they donā€™t recognize any device i plug in (canā€™t see them in bios), even though i can see, that my devices get power through those usb 3.0 ports. itā€™s like the ports are broken but somehow not brokenā€¦ i donā€™t know^^ will buy an usb 3.0 hub for that one usb 3.1 port which is from asmedia and is working :slight_smile:

They are all back after the next reboot (unless you have disabled the USB support within the BIOS).

Please check your BIOS settings regarding the "LEGACY mode" USB support.

my usb 3.0 (back panel, on top, the lower ones are working fine) on p8z77-v doesnā€™t work. i tried everything. ur drivers is installed perfectly, w/o any error. i have installed 10.1.1.14 chipset drivers, but i think they r doesnā€™t work properly as well because intel driver autoupdate utility shows me that my current version of drivers is 10.0.14393.594 while device manager shows 10.1.1.14 on intel devices in system category. and i have some strange latency in using of my ssd (gray port sata connected), and no latency with blue port 6gb (asmedia1061). any thoughts?

wellā€¦ no matter if i choose disable, auto or enable legacy mode, there is still no change at all. USB devices are not recognized even in bios.
iā€™m somehow sensing a hardware defect, although it worked onceā€¦ what do you think?

@rdnt :
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

The Intel Chipset "drivers" are no real drivers, but just text files - forget them!

You should not mix MS in-box INF files, which are showing the currently running OS version and buid (v10.0.14393.594) and the Intel Chipset device INF files, which donā€™t have any real function besides to tell the OS, that no driver is required for the related device.

Since I do not sit behind you and donā€™t know what you have done, I only can speculate regarding the origin of your problems.

ok, for what reason ports can be unworking?
