Wrong BIOS settings or hardware issues.
i reinstalled os, all was working just fine before i did that. but when i installed it, i found that "my system doesnāt meet the minimum requirements" on my win 10 for last intel drivers usb 3.0 of twenty fourteen year.
Which chipset has your system?
Which chipset has your system?
z77
@rdnt :
With your Z77 chipset system you should have no problem with your on-board Intel USB 3.0 Devices after a fresh OS installation.
Additional questions:
1. Which OS did you freshly installed (after having deleted all existing partitions of the previously used system drive)?
2. Which driver are your Intel USB 3.0 devices using?
nah, i managed the problem. it was fucking broken latest asmedia usb 3.0 extensible controller drivers (1.16.44.1), they was causing the problem with the upper usb 3.0 ports on p8z77-v. i reinstalled them by working version which is 1.16.41.3. now all is working good. chipset 10.1.1.14 (decided to reinstall OC again for cleaning the trash of various versions of chipset "drivers") and ur intel drivers.
Hi Fernando,
I have a Asus P9X79 board with a ASMedia 104x USB 3.0 controller. I have installed driver v1.16.44.1 (from Station-Drivers).
When I connect some devices like external harddrives, none of them are recognized anymore. I can feel the harddrives spin up, but they donāt show up in Device Manager, Devices and Printers or in File Explorer. I tried uninstalling the driver, reboot and install the previous version, but no joy. Any idea whatās going on?

[UPDATE] So, appearently the fault lies in the ASMedia v1.16.44.1 driver. I uninstalled the driver and rebooted. I let Windows install the OOTB driver and now everything works again. Not sure though if the performance is up to par. Iām currently copying a bunch of files to a external USB 3.0 drive and the transfer speeds donāt go above 20 MB/s, which basically is USB 2.0 speedā¦ If anyone has an idea about this, I would be very appreciative.

@lobbie1978 :
Thanks for your interesting report about the latest ASMedia USB 3.x drivers.
To make it clear, that your problem was driver related, I have moved your last posts into this big thread.
Since you are not the first user, who had recognized issues of the āpureā ASMedia USB 3.x v1.16.44.1 WHQL, I have just (re-)added the ASMedia USB 3.x drivers v1.16.41.3 WHQL to the start post of this thread.
@ all:
Update of the Start Post
Changelog:
- re-added (due to lobbie1978ās report): āpureā ASMedia USB 3.0+3.1 Drivers v1.16.41.3 WHQL dated 10/07/2016 (with 32/64bit DPInst files for an easy installation)
- re-added (due to lobbie1978ās report): ASMedia USB 3.0+3.1 Drivers & Software Set v1.16.41.3 WHQL dated 10/25/2016
Enjoy it!

After a set of in depth tests, I confirm that ASMEDIA USB 3.x v1.16.44.1 WHQL 64-bit does not work on ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe.
Installation does get no errors, however the four ASMEDIA USB 3.0 ports does remain ādummyā, none of my USB 3.x devices are detected.
I confirm that v1.16.41.3 does work perfectly on the same hardware.
Definitively I forget v1.16.44.1 and does stay with v1.16.41.3 on all my ASUS PCs.
Hi all! Iām new in the forum and maybe i need some help.
I have a Asrock B75M-DGS and i have problem with Usb 3.0 that works very bad.As i know Intel doesnāt want to make new driver for Windows 10 then Iāve tried to install the modded driver for Intel Chipset by Fernando but all my Usb 3.0 port doesnāt work.
Iāve tried to find some info about the controller on the Asrock site but thereās not infos about that.
What can i proceed?
Thanks a lot.
@Markcop :
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
Did you already contact the ASRock Support? If not, you should do it.
If the hardware (here: USB 3.0 Controller) doesnāt work correctly, the best driver will not be able to solve this hardware problem.
When I modify a driver package, I do not modify the driver itself (= *.SYS file), but just the related simple text file (= *.INF) to make the driver usable with other device models or/and Operating Systems.
Which additional informations do you need? You can see a lot of them by running the Device Manager, doing a right click onto the USB 3.0 Controller and choosing the options "Properties" > "Details" > "Property". If you want to know more, I recommend to ask the ASRock Support.

Thanks for the reply Fernando.
As i know thereās a lot of people with problems at Usb 3.0 ports with Chipset Intel Series 7 C216 (that seems to be chipset i have) and Windows 10. There no official Intel release for this Chipset for Windows 10 as i can saw on Windows and Intel forum.
In the Device info iāve seen (with the ID driver) that this MoBo have the Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver thatās why iāve tried your modified driver but with no luck (the drivers works but when i try to insert any pen drive on the usb 3 front/rear nothing happen).
Iāve contacted the Asrock support and i hope they give me some good news, but iām in doubt because the MoBo is very old!
On the basis of my own experiences with the ASRock Technical Support I bet, that you will get a reply.
Good luck!
New AsMedia _usb3_1.16.45.1 today !
Look here ; " Station-Drivers - News " I will install and report ( Win10x64 )
@Pete12 :
Thanks for the info.
By the way - I have merged your freshly created thread with the already existing one with the exact same title.
@ all:
Update of the Start Post
Changelog:
- new: āpureā ASMedia USB 3.0+3.1 Drivers v1.16.45.1 WHQL dated 03/01/2017 (with 32/64bit DPInst files for an easy installation)

Thanks to Station-Drivers for the source package and to Pete12 for the info.
Meanwhile I have installed the āpureā ASMedia USB 3.0/3.1 drivers onto my Z170 chipset system running Win10 x64 v1703 by using the DPInst method. Everything seems to be working fine here.
Test and hopefully enjoy it!

Just made some severely testing of this new USB 3.1-driver , transmitted an OS-backup of 11,4GB from internal HDD to external HDD , with USB3.1, it took me 74sec. with average speed of 116MB/sec.
I did not encounter improvements , but its certainly ok-driver !
I wonder if I can make transfer-speed faster then 116MB/secā¦
If you have ideas for improvements , let me know please, Fernando.
ASMedia USB 3.0/3.1 Drivers v1.16.45.1 WHQL will not work on ASUS P9X79 series board.
Do not install this driver - it will not recognize your USB devices!
The last working version for my ASUS motherbard is 1.16.41.3.
My device ID: PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_1040&CC_0C03
I donāt know why the new drivers doesnāt work, because this is the same hardware (maybe different firmware).
