Not really.
If the problem should persist even after several reboots, you may try to return to the Win8.1 in-box USB 3.0 driver.
Hum, I need to say I actually had to install the switch component. I just didnât see it was named "PCI Bus".
Now it works just fine. Thanks !
Am I the only one, who does not have "PCI Bus" in device manager on Z77 board?
I donât find it too ⌠maybe that was my fault to hang up at windows start?!
Maybe this HCSwitch device is listed with another name, because it actually doesnât use the Intel driver.
Tip: Search for an USB Device with the HardwareID *PNP0A08.
I found PNP0A08 before and its PCI Express Root Complex, Driver Name: machine.inf. But it doesnt not install driver and i dont want to force it until iâm 100% sure it will work.
Yes, that it a generic MS INF file. You can find it within the Windows\Inf folder and open it with Notepad.
You should only install the Intel Switch driver, if you have already installed the other 2 Intel USB 3.0 drivers (for the Controller and the Hub devices).

Thanks a lot for the new Intel drivers! For some reason I couldnât install the v3 modded and signed drivers in W10 (using have disk, got error adding the driver to store), so I ended installing the v4 with disabled Driver Signature Enforcement.

@Fernando
I have lot of poor performance (42 Mo/s and erratic) with USB 3.0 keys plugged in Intel port X99 (SabertoothX99) under a fresh installed W10 x64.
I see this:
Do i have to replace this driver with a v4 to try to fix the problem ?
Same USB 3.0 keys on ASMEDIA v 1.16.26.1 WHQL port gives expected performance (220 Mo/s).
You can try to replace the Win10 in-box MS USB 3.0 driver by the modded Intel USB 3.0 driver v4.0.0.36, but you have to disable the Driver Signature Enforcement before.
I have tried to âdisable driver signatureâ for my W10 PC using the method you describe, but did not succeed.
When hit âF7â during the reboot i get sub menus such as âdiagnosticâ, âsystem start toolâ, âdiagnosticâ again and a final message such as âdoes not succeed to repair systemâ.
When trying to âhave diskâ i got an âunknown errorâ and of course the driver update is not done.
Finally how can we know clearly if the âdriver signature enforcementâ is âenableâ or âdisableâ ?
Try this:
"Settings" > "Updates/Security" > "Recovery" > "Advanced startup" > "Restart now" > At reboot choose the option "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" > Once the OS is up, install the modded driver from within the Device Manager by choosing the "Have Disk" method.
The "Driver Signature Enforcement" is permanently enabled while running Win10 (except you have used the related "Advanced startup" option immediately before).
Fernando.
Iâm trying to install USB 3.0 XP drivers, modded by you.
But Iâm not sure where to install those INF files, required by the Advanced Option âHave diskâ.
So, about this, I have some questions.
Below is my Device Manager:
If I choose âGeneric USB Hubâ:
I receive this window, saying that device is already workig well:
If I choose âAdd new hardware deviceâ, below is the way to install USB 3.0 driver, âwith diskâ:
"Location has no information about your hardware"
So, how to install USB 3.0 driver?
(If you have problems to see pictures above, Iâll reply this post attaching those pictures. I inform that, from here, with Firefox 40, I can see them.)
I cannot see them (neither with Microsoftâs Edge nor with Google Chrome.
It is much better to attach the pictures by using the Forum software.
At first step you will have to find the USB 3.0 Controller and to update its driver.
It should be the first one (DeviceID DEV_8C31) of the red marked devices shown here:
Since I cannot see the pictures either, I have catched the picture of your Device Manager by editing your post, opening the source link from your hoster, worked on it by using MS Paint and attaching it to this post.
