[Outdated] USB 3.0/3.1 Drivers (original and modded)

Thank you for your help, at least you tried.
To better understand and troubleshoot this myself, may I ask how the modded drivers were compiled and what about the drivers were modified in order to enable them to work at USB 3.0 speeds, is it iusb3.inf that enables the speeds or is there a particular driver file that enables the speeds?

@MKalman95 :
All my mod+signed driverpacks contain the untouched original drivers. The only files, which are customized by me, are simple text files with the extension *.INF (or *.OEM), which contain the informations about how to install and use the real drivers (= *.SYS files).
It is the Intel USB 3.0 Controller driver itself (here: iusb3xhc.sys), which is mainly responsable for the performance of the related USB 3.0 devices.

Okay, thank you Fernando, I will look further into this and post back if I have a solution

There are two versions of ASMedia USB 3.x drivers:
- latest one - v1.16.49.1
- older one - v1.16.41.3 with a note "may work better than the latest"

What caused this added note? Are there any "examples" when latest version caused any troubles?
Is there any simple way to find out "the better driver" for my X99/Win7 platform?

Newer does not automaticly mean better.

Yes, the simpliest and safest way is to find it out yourself with your specific system.

Yes, I do know about this. :slight_smile: But for other USB drivers (AMD, Etron, Fresco, Intel and so on) there is only one (the lastest) version presented in your post.

Why is ASMedia so special to have here two (the lastest and some older) drivers?
Were there any important problems with ASMedia USB drivers in the past so now you decided to include also some older version "just in case"?

@Lex :
As long as I get no information about problems with them, I only offer the latest available drivers.

Because I got the feedback from some users, that the latest ASMedia USB 3.0/3.1 drivers were not the best for their system.

Dear Fernando thanks for your time in post the useful drivers for Ryzen machine, my question is, you know i tried the 64bit folder which contains the DP-FILE but to be honest, when i run as administrator it says your system is not compatible, because probably windows 10. So there are anothers 3 folders, and my question: Which one of the last 3 folders should i use? to update my usb 3.1 and 3.0 drivers?

PS: Happy new year 2018
Thanks alot.

@x58haze :
Since I am offering a lot of different original and modded USB drivers from different manufacturers, I need to know about which drivers are you talking and which DeviceID has the related USB 3.0/3.1 Controller.

Thanks for your comment, i think these one:

Others pictures of the driver-tab

if you need more info about Generic USB HUB too i can post here, thanks alot.

@x58haze :
Thanks for the requested infos.
You should be able to get both latest AMD USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 drivers, which I am offering within the start post, installed while running Win10.
If the DPInstaller should not work, I recommend to install the Controller and Hub drivers one after the other manually from within the Device Manager.
Donā€™t update both AMD USB Controllers and Hub Devices at once. Maybe you will have to change the used USB ports for your input devices.

Well I did these steps in order to install:

step 1:

step 2: I ensure about the readme 145ID to match with the device

step 3: error:

If i remember i tried before in my last W10 in the picture 1, if i remember i tried the last folder the 4th one and that results in driver install, i will see if that work.

@x58haze :
This should be the order, if you want to update the USB drivers:
1. Controller
2. Hub

Have good News the 4th folder which are 3.1 drivers when installed the controllers it automatically installed the hub for the 3.1

Now i will see which folder of 3.0 are the best for the next AMD USB 3.0 eXtensible Host controller 1.0 (microsoft)

Well i tried now again the First Folder 64 bit AMD 3.0 on the Microsoft host controller 1.0 and finally!

Thanks alot Fernando

I followed your advice and tracked back this thread. At this moment all I can say is: there is, indeed, quite a lot of problems with "newer drivers" from ASMedia. I will need more free time to read them all but Iā€™ll do it, for sure.

For anyone interested: here is the first post with ASMedia USB driver problems after change from v1.16.41.3 to a "newer one": USB 3.0/3.1 Drivers (original and modded) (49)

Hello Lex, i was wondering how important is the Asmedia? nowadays, does boost performance on USB devices or is only for storage? sorry for my ignorance
I have a motherboard ab350 fatality k4 gaming, and a Ryzen cpu 5 1600

Iā€™m start to do this questions, because iā€™m starting to worried about my new evga gtx 1060 doing spikes over-timeā€¦ also my gtx 580 which is EVGA have the same problems, except my XFX 9600. i dont know if because i need different drivers for newer system such GTX 1060? etc,etC? thanks.

EDIT by Fernando: Unneeded parts of the fully quoted post and unneeded blank lines removed (to save space)

It depends on what ASMedia chipsets are on your mainboard and what devices are connected to them.
My mainboardā€™s ASMedia chipsets are responsible for some of USB 3.0 and 3.1 ports.

Oh, i see. My motherboard says that support Asmedia, but I really donā€™t know which port are the Asmedia one.
The specification Ab350 fatality k4 gaming

The motherboard PCB:

By reading the manual, I still donā€™t know where is the Asmedia ports.

I think they are SATA3_A1 and SATA3_A2.
