OverPowered TONGFANG CyberPower Machrevo MACHENIKE - Unlocked BIOS Guide W/ Files

Hello and thanks for your reply.
I bought this one from Aliexpress while it was on sale, I believe that they still have stock left.

Is it the same exact model with a GTX 1060 and I7 8750H?. I think that there is also a RTX 2060 model flying around and I don’t want to kill this one with the wrong Bios.

You could refer to the thread?
[SOLVED] How to unlock BIOS options of rebranded TONGFANG chassis systems?

Yes mine come with an RTX 2060 GPU . So might not be the same bios then unfortunately. How much did you buy yours ? And how much did you pay taxes for the custom if you paid any ?

@Tuscani - This is where everyone has been requesting lately, is it Ok with you if I move these posts all to that thread?
OverPowered TONGFANG CyberPower Machrevo MACHENIKE - Unlocked BIOS Guide W/ Files

I’ll post this here for you now, before I give you unlocked BIOS, since you specifically mentioned the main thing the warning is about

WARNING - To ANYONE with laptop and unlocked BIOS!!!
DO NOT try to enable this graphics card or disable that card, switch cards etc. Otherwise you will end up with no display output (ie black screen) and no way to recover except by blind flash or with flash programmer.
You can change graphics related settings, like changing memory sizes, or core speeds etc, just don’t try to disable one card or change which is main etc.

For me to unlock your BIOS, please do the following

Check BIOS main page and see if ME FW version is shown, if not then download HWINFO64
Then on the large window on left side, expand motherboard and find ME area, inside that get the ME Firmware version.
Once you have that, go to this thread and in the section “C.2” download the matching ME System Tools Package
(ie if ME FW version = 10.x get V10 package, if 9.0-9.1 get V9.1 package, if 9.5 or above get V9.5 package etc)
Intel Management Engine: Drivers, Firmware & System Tools

Once downloaded, inside you will find Flash Programming Tool folder, and inside that a Windows or Win/Win32 folder.
Select that Win folder, hold shift and press right click, choose open command window here (Not power shell).
At the command prompt type the following command and send me the created file to modify >> FPTw.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin

Right after you do that, try to write back the BIOS Region dump and see if you get any error >> FPTw.exe -bios -f biosreg.bin
If you do get error, show me image of the command entered and the error given
^^ This is important step, don’t forget ^^

If you are stuck on Win10 and cannot easily get command prompt, and method I mentioned above does not work for you, here is some links that should help
Or, copy all contents from the Flash Programming Tool \ DOS folder to the root of a USB Bootable disk and do the dump from DOS (FPT.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin)

Or here is simply registry edit that adds “Open command window here as Administrator” to the right click menu
Double-click to install, reboot after install may be required

@Lost_N_BIOS Yes, move it to wherever it belongs please. Sorry for not noticing that thread.

I know about how optimus works and how unwise it is to disable GPU’s in BIOS. I just want to mess arround with voltage offsets and TDPs rather safe stuff like that, but I would take advantage of all the unlockable options for this BIOS.
Lowering voltages I would be able to squeeze some extra performance / battery life while on running on battery since the TDP drops gradually from 35W to as low as 10W when battery is below 20% wich renders the laptop in a laughable performance state being unable to clock higher than 800Mhz.

I already have the ME reg dump. Ill send it to you via PM.

Edit: Just saw your sign, I guess Ill try to upload here as an attachment.

Double edit: Removed attachment.

758$ shipped with no custom taxes. It was one hell of a deal even if it’s the GTX 1060 variant. There is no stock left though since it’s not even listed for sale on the whole website.

@Tuscani - OK, moving thread/posts over to the main similar laptop thread. I really need to update that mod BIOS list at post one, I think I have about 5-10 of the newer models that came out recently to add to the list now
Yes, again, just be aware, if you try to disable or switch any of the graphics controllers you usually (99% of the time) will end up with no display output until you can redo the BIOS. Changing all stuff you mentioned immediately above would be fine

I have to leave right now, but I’ll try to get this done for you tonight. I assume no error at step #2 above, correct?
Also, please show me image, or just tell me >> On Advanced BIOS page >> Light Effects >> What is first and last in your list of light effect options?

FYI - This is Tonfang GK7CN6S Model/BIOS, same as OP-LP3 if that one comes with 1060 too (and that variant has newer BIOS if you wanted to use it)
Stock BIOS update package on first post if you want to update to that, if you do update both BIOS and EC, then send me new dump or follow the guide (which now I see needs updated again for the secondary Light Effect option to be added to the mod files)

* Edit - @Tuscani - Thread is here in case you couldn’t find it after I moved stuff

I searched and could not find the Intel MEI Drivers & Software 1 version 2.0.40.1433 for the new Eluktronics MAX-17 RTX 2060 my Bios are N.1.03 ec version 1.02.00.00. is there any other way to make a bios dump?

@Crunch - MEI Drivers are not needed, you can dump from DOS. However, I generally assume you will probably need V11 or V12 drivers, not 2.x anything
If you find you have ME FW version 11 or 12, you can get ME drivers to install from here (use consumer V11.7 or V19xx.14), then reboot, and you can dump from windows (otherwise make a DOS Bootable USB, then copy all contents of the DOS folder to root of the USB)

Thanks for all your effort and time, but I ended up doing the bios mod myself.

I updated to the latest 1.08 Bios and then modded that one. This laptop can take a -125mv undervolt wich is fantastic. My Cinebench R15 score went from 636 to 720 on battery, that’s a massive performance boost for the same 20W TDP.

There is something that I would like to know if its possible since Im not familiar with doing it. Is it possible to modify the UEFI boot picture?. The 1.08 Bios update seems to come from a OverPowered laptop wich changed the image to their horrible logo and I personally like my old MechRevo boot image way better since it matches the laptop aesthetics.

Can you point me in the right direction to make this change if possible at all?.

I am from China, and I failed to modify my BIOS file after reading your tutorial. Since there is no adaptor file, this is my backup BIOS, and the mold is gj5cn6a_vulcan_bios_n.1.07. Please help me modify it, thank you

This is my BIOS download link https://www.lanzous.com/i91v2le

Hello, my newly purchased notebook memory module has x.m.p configuration, I want to open 3200Mhz, but this x.m.p option is hidden in bios (can be seen in AMIBCP). My notebook model is XMG CORE17 (XCO17M19). The query shows that the notebook mold model is tongfang GK7CP6R. The notebooks using this mold also have Mechrevo X3 and Mechrevo X8Ti-G. My bios version is N1.04 and the EC version is 1.12.60. The file you provided does not have my notebook model. Can you help me unlock all hidden BIOS options? thank you very much!

I try to mod my own BIOS by following your steps, but I stuck on the 5th step. I find hundreds of menus with form ID in IFR txt, are all of them required? And I can’t find the hiden menus. I have a GIGABYTE AREO15 (7th) and here is my origin BIOS file. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Alzbrjfy_Vd_vGtD4cjAmJRoQ5ul?e=BGq2Yr

Dear,
Thanks for you guide, I have unlocked my BIOS sucessful. But, when I want to unlock the power limit, I set the PL1 and PL2 with a high num (60W/80W), and finally I find it not work when I run stress test in AIDA64 to test it. Could you please give me more information.
Thank you.

I was able to unlock my new laptop’s bios with this mod (Eluktronics MAX-15.) Im a mechanical engineer with no prior hex edit or bios experience, but I followed your “pro” guide step by step and it worked perfectly.
There are an insane # of options in the bios now. I was not able to increase performance or overclock (yet? not sure what so change?) but its nice to set my memory speed (DDR4-3066) and timings, as well as -.120 and -.100 undervolts in the BIOS.
I was even able to do everything from windows, no DOS boot needed.
It worked on the first try. Lots of anxiety when flashing the BIOS with the intel flash tool  I don’t have a SPI programmer nor have I used one.
Ive attached my final modded BIOS (biosreg-modded2.bin) that I successfully flashed. Use at your own risk.
Also included in the RAR file is the rest of the WIN32 folder with the intermediate files and txt files I made to edit the bios.

TO ALL OF YOU >> please either show me image of what Light Effect options you have at Advanced, or tell me which is first and last option

@Tuscani - Yes, I will help you shortly. Please provide the BIOS you are using, and the image you want used instead. Or better yet, just include some copy of the BIOS that contains the logo you like, and let me know which is which in text file in the package

@emketubuxin - Please wait, sorry for delays, I will edit BIOS for you

@Crunch - No, AMIBCP cannot unlock BIOS. AFU can be used to make backup, but not the one I prefer you to make or use for this kind of edit. Please use FPT and make a BIOS region only backup, then send to me and I will edit for you

@szl0834 - there is NOT hundreds… ohh, I see, you are in wrong file. Please look through guide again closely, IFR is not where you search for the form ID, only where you first grab it. You should be searching in extracted AMITSE PE32 Body
Additionally, your BIOS is not the same as these, so this guide may not directly apply. I’ve unlocked your BIOS though, and I believe it uses this same method but I didn’t check when typing this out, so if you need further help once you get going the correct way, let me know.
Please tell me your exact model name in full (XA, NA etc)

@zhang - sorry, I do not know about power level settings, only making BIOS options visible or not. I do know for power stuff, there is MANY settings, across 2-3 sections, so you may not be changing the correct item, or in the correct location etc.

@okashira - Great job!! Happy to see someone able to benefit from the guide and accomplish unlock themselves, nice!

@I_Alex_1 - Please wait, sorry for delay, I will try to get all these done tonight or next few days

* Edit -
@breeze - Sorry, looks like I merged your posts, and then missed replying to you I’m checking stuff now, if you get here and read this and no further edit by me
XMP not always in all memory module, are you 100% certain your memory has XMP (not SPD)? You can check in CPU-z SPD tab, or with HWINFO64 main left window, memory, select a stick, then scroll down to see XMP profiles)
They also show up as XMP in the little CPU-z like window that appears when you first run HWINFO64. Show me Generally that is only time XMP would be hidden in BIOS, if no XMP detected.
But, that may not show up at all in unlocked BIOS, depending on what is there by default, I doubt they’d hide XMP option though. I will unlock BIOS for you, and still not touch XMP hidden/visible flag, then you tell me if XMP shows up or not, if not your memory does not have XMP

Edited the BIOS according to the instructions. It is not possible to log in to the BIOS. The system starts. Windows is loading.
I did "replace body" and everything worked out.

@I_Alex_1 - sounds like you messed something up, or missed a step etc. Or did you get in BIOS? Your post isn’t very clear
If you got the mod done already let me know, if not, wait and I will do for you!

Thanks for adding lighting image, the reason I ask this is because most BIOS there is several of these and I always unhide the second one for users so they have more choices.
