And if the threadowner deletes a thread all other posts will be deleted, too?
So if I use maybe an hour for finding out about the request, as in this case, the work and time invested just disappears without the forum software even being able to give at least an explanation?
As already written it takes some time to answer such requests properly and I’m not interested in guarding my future posts from being deleted without any given reason (and having to ask to get them undeleted).
@lfb6
Although I share your point of view, I cannot help.
The only persons, who may be able to explain what happened with the related thread, are the still unknown opener and the system Admin wendell.
Unfortunately wendell hasn’t yet answered my recent question. I will send him a reminder PM today.
I have updated the forum settings. If you have a very new user account or a limited post history you can self-service delete your account (taking the replies with posts that person made). ofc this can be undone but I can see how it might be alarming hah.
What are the criteria (time / number of answers) for the user being able to delete the account (thereby deleting own threads and the corresponding answers)?
And I agree, new users are here often for one problem, they sometimes disappear without even commenting the answers. But the answers might still contain some knowledge that could help other users.
In addition getting ones own posts deleted without reason by a non- moderator seems rather weird.
