Thank you for all this Satori!
I’d rather mod the cooling to include MOSFET and inductor, I don’t like the idea of trimming the card down and losing FPS.
The new mod you are about to create should perform better or worse than stock vBIOS? I mean the one to use without MOSFET and inductor cooling.
I found a board picture online, could you please mark for me the inductor and MOSFET?
[EDIT] I rarely have crashes with this card. I happens once every a couple months
The highlighted yellow boxes for SoC VDDC and VRAM MVDD and VDDCI power suppliers,
The area between the red boxes either to add thermal pad or thin layer of thermal paste connected to core thermal paste or to add electrical insulation tape of 105°C or more on the heatsink or kapton tape,
Today I have sent a file thay should work well even with the current setup of the thermal solution, to postpone increasing the power limit above the default 135W until the suggested cooling improvements are applied,
Please remember to verify the MD5 hash for the file that was send before using it.
Tried the latest driver available for Radeon 5600 XT and auto installer, both fail with that error.
I also tried Radeon driver v21.9.1 (first one to support ReBAR) and fails with same error.
Screenshot of flash success:
The new product name caught my attention: R57XT instead of R56XT… looks like you modded a 5700 XT’s vBIOS.
NOTE: batch file threw error about not finding x29.exe, I manually executed the commands one by one and x29 executed OK that way.
@ElTeclas
I have changed the product ID to match RX 5700 to enable other features not available to RX 5600 XT, it seems the graphics driver have a way to detect this and probably through the VRAM bus width,
No problem, we can change the ID back to RX 5600 XT.
Oh I see. I have the suspicion it’s not because of the RX57XT part of the new model name but because of the CUSTOM-BUILT part. The error mentions OEM built cards as one of the causes, maybe AMD forces the users to use OEM’s manufacturer driver for those cards instead of their own.
I’m just guessing, as soon as I can I’ll try your new ROM
Just tried the last vBIOS: now the driver installs, but the computer hangs as soon as it finishes installation.
It also hangs on reboot, on windows loading screen.
Had to revert to original vBIOS
