[REQUEST] ACER Helios 300 PH317-53 Bios Advanced Menu Unlock

Hello I have the laptop mentioned in the title. I need the bios unlocked for modding and setting up XMP profile for memory. If someone can help me please do let me know i do have dump. I am attaching helpful files and links.

Thank you

@rtncyp - I assume you have flash programmer? If not, let me know and I will tell you how to disable locks so we can use FPT instead.
Here is your unlocked BIOS - http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fil…516314317127994

*** WARNING - To ANYONE with laptop and unlocked BIOS!!!
DO NOT try to enable this graphics card or disable that card, switch cards etc. Otherwise you will end up with no display output (ie black screen) and no way to recover except by blind flash or with flash programmer.
You can change graphics related settings, like changing memory sizes, or core speeds etc, just don’t try to disable one card or change which is main etc.

Additionally, be very careful when trying to undervolt CPU, you can leave BIOS unbootable due to CPU voltage too low (Sometimes even 0.05 is too much)

WARNING *** - This BIOS is user specific! If you are not user rtncyp at Win-RAID.com forum, DO NOT USE THIS BIOS!!
If you do, and you are not rtncyp, then you will loose your serial, UUID, OG NVRAM, and possibly LAN MAC ID as well.
You have been warned!!!

Wow you must be the King! What is this speed?
Thank you so much. Yes i do have ch341a programmer with clip i am at your service can you teach me this FPT and other things?

Thanks again and again

Sorry i got excited :rofl::rofl::rofl:

As i have the programmer dont need the FPT isnt it?
Also if i get tits up can i use my first dump to save the day?

Thanks master

@rtncyp - You’re welcome! Yes, your thread caught me right while I was looking at a similar BIOS for another user, so I knew I could do yours real quick while I was on the other

FPT method not needed since you have programmer. And if you wanted to try it for later, there is several guided steps I’d have to walk you through, a few methods/things you need to do, and then maybe it will work (not sure on this model yet, no one tried, but I do assume maybe possible)

Yes, you can always use your original dump to recover, provided you can write to chip properly (already know what software/version writes to your chip OK)

If you want to know FPT method, and try going that route without using programmer, we can, but you will use different file and I will have to do edit again (Not a big deal, just letting you know current file will not be used)
If you want to do that instead of using programmer, let me know. And then do below. We already know step #2 result = 167, so just do #1 AFTER you do the vars stuff and send it to me, then program back the unlocked vars, then you will do #1 and send to me

If you have already modified the BIOS in ANY way, you will need to re-flash it back to factory defaults using factory method (NOT FPT)!!!
Additionally, please remove all BIOS passwords, disable secure boot, and disable TPM or Encryption if you have enabled. Do this before moving on to below

If you do not have Intel ME drivers installed, install them now from your system driver download page, then start over here after reboot.

Once you have that, go to the thread linked below, and in the section “C.2” find and download the V12 ME System Tools Package for your system.
> DOWNLOAD " ME System Tools " packages HERE <

Once downloaded, inside you will find Flash Programming Tool folder, and then inside that a Windows or Win/Win32 folder (NOT x64).
Highlight that Win/Win32 folder, then hold shift and press right click. Choose “open command window here” (Not power shell! >> * See Registry file below ).

If you get an error, reply to this post with a screenshot of it, OR write down the EXACT command entered and the EXACT error given.

((If “open command window here” does not appear, look for the “Simple Registry Edit” below…))

Step #1

Now you should be at the command prompt.
You are going to BACKUP the factory un-modified firmware, so type the following command:
Command: " FPTw.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin "

>> Attach the saved "biosreg.bin ", placed into a compressed ZIP/RAR file, to your next post!!! <<

Step #2

Right after you do that, try to write back the BIOS Region dump and see if you get any error(s).
Command: " FPTw.exe -bios -f biosreg.bin "
^^ This step is important! Don’t forget! ^^

If you get an error, reply to this post with a screenshot of it, OR write down the EXACT command entered and the EXACT error given.

Here is a SIMPLE REGISTRY EDIT that adds “Open command window here as Administrator” to the right click menu, instead of Power Shell
Double-click downloaded file to install. Reboot after install may be required

If the windows method above does NOT work for you…
Then you may have to copy all contents from the Flash Programming Tool \ DOS folder to the root of a Bootable USB disk and do the dump from DOS
( DOS command: " FPT.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin " )

H20UVE package to get vars - Please download the following package, and run the command below from each versions folder that directly contains it’s exe.
Once done, copy the entire folder somewhere, delete everything but any created vars.txt and then repackage this and send to me, this way all created vars.txt remain in place in the folders of the version that created them.

^^ With that, we will try to bypass error 167 that you get at step #2 above, then once we do, you’ll be able to FPT program in mod BIOS

Edit @rtncyp >> Still waiting on your programmer dump We can just use that if you want, you do not need to do above stuff, it’s only there if you wanted to try that instead of using programmer

@rtncyp - Where did you go?

I have the same notebook, and want to mod too @Lost_N_BIOS Can you help me?

Hi friend , we can try it …
make a bios backup , so use this tool, execute it as Admin and upload the result file here for me :

Let me know

done! i can’t edit this bios in amibcp
do i need to do any other step in order to edit and flash this bios?
i cant send links lol, i will do 3 posts before

lul, still cant send link

my bios dump link here

Ok friend, your bios is locked (Eeprom) you got error 167 so Bios lock and FPRR …

We have two ways

1. H2OUVE tool
2. RU Shell

Download these tools (try one for one and look if there are errors) :

So use the H20UVE_100.00.16.08 version tool to make a vars.txt backup and upload it for me, from a Admin command window run this command :

H2OUVE.exe -gv vars.txt

Upload it for me as i have to edit it and ulpoad to you …

Then use RU Shell to modify that variable (from EFI IFR txt) :

0xBFC59 Suppress If: {0A 82}
0xBFC5B Variable 0x7E equals value in list (0x1) {14 08 7E 00 01 00 01 00}
0xBFC63 Setting: BIOS Lock, Variable: 0x17 {05 91 CD 06 CE 06 12 0A 05 00 17 00 10 10 00 01 00}
0xBFC74 Option: Disabled, Value: 0x0 {09 07 04 00 00 00 00}
0xBFC7B Option: Enabled, Value: 0x1 {09 07 03 00 30 00 01}
0xBFC82 End of Options {29 02}
0xBFC84 End If {29 02}

0xB372B Setting: Flash Protection Range Registers (FPRR), Variable: 0x6D1 {05 91 7A 0D 7B 0D 0F 05 05 00 D1 06 10 10 00 01 00}
0xB373C Option: Disabled, Value: 0x0 {09 07 04 00 00 00 00}
0xB3743 Option: Enabled, Value: 0x1 {09 07 03 00 30 00 01}
0xB374A End of Options {29 02}
BIOS Lock, Variable: 0x4AB 0x01 >> 0x00

This one locks the eeprom.

Here the RU Shell and a guide on how to :

You have to find the PCH-Setup GUID: 4570B7F1-ADE8-4943-8DC3-406472842384 , then modify the variable 0x17 from 0x1 >> 0x00 ans variable 0x6D1 form 0x01 >> 0x00
Then reboot to windows and use Fptw64.exe to make a bios backup , upload it for me and i will clean it to make a bios mod.

Please when you find it upload a photo so i can be sure and you too that you’re patching the right one …

hi, i will do this next tuesday, i send you photos, tank you!

link from mediafire not working!! i downloaded H2OUVE from another link

H2OUVE vars.txt here

Ok friend,
to use the tools you have to open a command window as Admin, go into the folder’s tool and use shift and right mouse click and choice
Open Powershell window as Administrator , to open command window, then run cmd + ENTER and go …

use H2OUVE like before to rewrite back the varsmod.txt (varibles modified), put the file into the folder containing H2OUVE.exe and execute this command :

H2OUVE.exe -sv varsmod.txt

Here is the file :

Then use this Fpt tool to flash the biios mod , from the FPT folder execute this command :

fptw.exe -f biosregmod.bin -bios

Here is the Fpt tool :

Let me know
