[Request] Gigabyte Aorus 15 X9 CPU Upgrade

@Upgrader001 - You’re welcome! So, all OK, and BIOS is unlocked etc? If yes, then you are ready for the CPU replacement

Hi people
Recently lost n bios modified my bios successful.
But stupid things I have made. I modified some parameters in the bios like uncore voltage and other one that I don’t remember and my bios don’t boot. I have the computer turn it on and off alone since I did this.

Please help me

  • What did you change, try to remember If it was all voltage related, then you set something too low
    Did you try to wait, after boot, and see if it finally loads windows in 1 minute or two?

    You can try, remove main battery, remove PSU cable, press and hold case power on switch for one minute, then see if it starts after that (trying to clear CMOS)
    If that fails, do the same, but open bottom and remove CMOS battery first. Then if that also fails, remove all memory and boot the board with zero memory installed, then put back only one stick and see if you can then boot into BIOS.

    If you cannot get it, you will need CH341A + SOIC8 / SOP8 test clip with cable, to dump the BIOS, send to me, then I will make you new BIOS to program back in

    * Edit - @Upgrader001 - Moved these posts back into the main thread for this board, no need for separate topic without any system info etc

I’m making some memory, I have been playing with the bios since you did the custom one. I touched max oc value or something like that and nothing happened. I touched core voltage to -5 mv and the disk didn’t booted. But now I touched uncore voltage and the machine is on/off all the time.

@Upgrader001 - Probably due to CPU voltage too low, it’s in my warning I gave you above
Try to fix/reset how I mentioned above, maybe you will get lucky and get it to reset to fail safe without having to order a flash programmer.

Ok

@Lost_N_BIOS
I have bought a bios programmer it will be here between 24 of Sept and 2 of October. do I need to teardown the laptop? To use the bios programmer?

@Upgrader001 - Sorry you could not get it reset without programmer Did you try leaving out all power, main battery, PSU cable, and remove CMOS Cable, for long time (24+ hours)?
Yes, you will need to at least take off the bottom of the casing, usually from there you can see the BIOS chip. If you cannot find, take image for me of what you see with the bottom removed and I will see if I can point out BIOS chip for you
Here is guide on how to use programmer -[GUIDE] Flash BIOS with CH341A programmer
And here is software package - http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fil…213094641136166
Be sure you DO NOT erase or write to chip, until you’ve made a backup dump and someone checked it to be sure it’s OK/Valid, that way you know your system specific info is preserved and can be put back into BIOS later as needed
Once you find chip, give me the chip ID and I will tell you what software/version may be best to use to read/write to the chip, if I know what works best.

Okay I’ll try the 24 hours reset but I haven’t removed cmos battery because it is in the reverse of the motherboard…I thought that bios programmer could solve the problem without disassembly the computer. Anyways, the computer doesn’t read usb, with that in the way, is it going to work the bios programmer if the computer doesn’t read usb pendrives and don’t image(turned off screen black screen no lights)? @Lost_N_BIOS

@Upgrader001 - You HAVE to remove CMOS battery, or short it out, if you are trying to clear CMOS
Yes, programmer can fix all this without clearing CMOS, because we’d do that in BIOS rebuild. Clear CMOS and all stuff I mentioned was to try and help you get it to reset without having to use programmer
To use programmer, yes, you will need to take system apart, at very least remove bottom of case. And program is not ran on the problem system, it’s only connected to the problem system via SOIC8 test clip cable connected to the BIOS chip.
You connect the USB programmer to another running computer, and all programming is done from there.

On CMOS battery, if you can’t remove easily, you can try to short it all out, by remove PSU, and power cable, then sit something heavy on Power on button, and leave it there, so power on button is held down for 24+ hours
Sometimes that can clear the CMOS and drain the battery, sometimes. Sometimes the only way to clear CMOS or re-load defaults is by shorting a clear CMOS dot on the board, it will look like tiny gold circle but will have thin line through it.
Trying to start without memory, and then with only one memory module, can sometimes get fail safe defaults to load too. So try that as well.

Okay I bought this, is this fine for our rescue? https://articulo.mercadolibre.cl/MLC-529…p-adaptador-_JM

Do I need a chip?

If you don’t understand something just tell me.

@Lost_N_BIOS

@Upgrader001 - Yes, that kit contains everything you need No, you do not need chip, you will connect to the one on the board, dump it, send to me, then I will fix, then you program it back
What is the BIOS chip ID? Look with your eyes, do not rely on any old software image that may have mentioned a BIOS chip ID.

@Lost_N_BIOS

pictures about my motherboard
i cant find a battery, now the computer is totally dissamsembled.
i bought aonther bios programmer that comes the 15 of september.
NOW the question is… where is the bios? i have found 4 suspects

Your WTF is this circled in the image is the SouthBrige/PCH chip SR40B = HM370

The BIOS is the GD25B127D chip (Gigadevice 25B127DSIG). For this chip, use 1.18 software with chip ID GD25Q128 - http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fil…213094641136166
Or use Flashrom - Here is GUI version - (post 510) - [Guide] Using CH341A-based programmer to flash SPI EEPROM (34)
And here is Linux/Ubuntu Method - [GUIDE] The Beginners Guide to Using a CH341A SPI Programmer/Flasher (With Pictures!)

Here is guide to use with programmer once it arrives - [GUIDE] Flash BIOS with CH341A programmer
DO NOT erase or write to chip, until you’ve dumped BIOS and I’ve checked it and replied back. Do read, verify and saves only. Also don’t use “Auto” in the CH341A software

@Lost_N_BIOS
OK i installled the driver and i putted the test clip, readed, verified and saved the bios http://www.mediafire.com/file/xpplkrqks6…x9+BIOS.7z/file
i’m waiting your orders

@Lost_N_BIOS
are you checking the bios or i have to go walk alone from this stage?

@Upgrader001 - Here, program back by this method >> Open app, click detect and choose ID GD25Q128, erase, then blank check, then open BIOS file, then write, then verify.
Once done, remove main battery, CMOS battery if there is one, remove main power cable. Then connect the power on button cable, and press and hold the power on button for 10-15 seconds. Then let sit for one minute without power
Then put all back together and boot to BIOS, load optimized defaults, save and reboot back to BIOS, then make all other changes you want.
