Hi everyone and marry Christmas to all I Need Moded bios for Asus Rog Strix H270F gaming mobo to OC i7 7700k and ram XMP, is it any chance please? Thank you so much
EDIT by Fernando: Thread title shortened thank you
@marhor1 - PLEASE shorten your title, thanks
Merry Christmas to you as well!
For your question, you need to be a log more specific before anyone can help… ie what do you want done to the BIOS
Thank you for shortening title I was in NICU see my babygirl ok I am not familiar with modifying any codes or programs, but I read about possibilities to change eufi bios to unlock some options restricted in eufi by asus manufacturer. My friend gives me i7 7700k cpu with mobo asus Rog strix H270F gaming , which is not letting user raise clock speed on i7 K models and not letting user set higher XMP on ram than 2200Mhz i think . I Know asus Rog strix Z270 mobo don’t have this restriction. Is there any way how to modified bios to remove this to higher the clock and timing little bit higher? Thank you and sorry for my English it’s not technically accurate and clear.
@marhor1 - Hope your babaygirl heals up quick and gets to go home with you soon!
“H” Chipset is what is the limiting factor here, not really the BIOS per-say. However, I don’t personally know how much of that is restricted by chipset or by BIOS, probably mainly by chipset per Intel’s own design
I can edit BIOS to give you higher than 2200Mhz Memory and then we can use that as a quick test, to see if BIOS is limiting you on memory or chipset. I always thought"H" and “B” chipsets were limited to 2666, not 2200-2400
I see at these threads at Asus forum, you should be able to do 2400, so I guess the 2666 may only apply to some of the newer “B & H” chipset models I was looking at

CPU/Bclk OC may be possible, with older ME FW and older CPU microcodes, but then you are at some security risks too.
Can you adjust CPU multiplier at all? If not, when I do the memory test edit, if it’s there I’ll also enable CPU multi. Please show me full image of your current Ai Tweaker page, scroll up/down and take screenshot to USB with F12 hotey, then zip and send me the images.
Let’s start here, since your board does not have USB Flashback, best to flash BIOS this way and you;ll need to unlock some things first anyway
Check BIOS main page and see if ME FW version is shown, if not then download HWINFO64
Then on the large window on left side, expand motherboard and find ME area, inside that get the ME Firmware version.
Once you have that, go to this thread and in the section “C.2” download the matching ME System Tools Package
(ie if ME FW version = 10.x get V10 package, if 9.0-9.1 get V9.1 package, if 9.5 or above get V9.5 package etc)
Intel Management Engine: Drivers, Firmware & System Tools
Once downloaded, inside you will find Flash Programming Tool folder, and inside that a Windows or Win/Win32 folder.
Select that Win folder, hold shift and press right click, choose open command window here (Not power shell).
At the command prompt type the following command and send me the created file to modify >> FPTw.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin
Right after you do that, try to write back the BIOS Region dump and see if you get any error >> FPTw.exe -bios -f biosreg.bin
If you do get error, show me image of the command entered and the error given
^^ This is important step, don’t forget ^^
If you are stuck on Win10 and cannot easily get command prompt, and method I mentioned above does not work for you, here is some links that should help
Or, copy all contents from the Flash Programming Tool \ DOS folder to the root of a USB Bootable disk and do the dump from DOS (FPT.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin)

Or here is simply registry edit that adds “Open command window here as Administrator” to the right click menu
Double-click to install, reboot after install may be required

Thank you so much, i am still in NICU over holidays 2hrs from my place, my babygirl is preme-born 35 weeks old, and I will get back home for sure after new year. So it all needs to wait little bit. Thank you for interest and I will contact you when o got chance to work on it. Happy holidays and New Year to all Also my other option I can go with, is swap that mobo for Asus Maximus VIII Z170 Ranger which have bios flashback but its previous older chipset. I am not sure if that i7 7700K will run OC any better in Z170 that in this H270.
You’re welcome! Hope your baby girl gets to come home with you very soon!
There is no rush here, whenever you are home we can move forward
There is no need to swap for Z170 board just for USB Flashback, but you can, all up to you. Yes, Z170 board would be better for your K CPU though, much more OC options that way, but you’ll have to weigh all the other differences between the boards and decide yourself.
We can mod BIOS of either one just the same
Hi there, I am still away from home at NICU so I didn’t make any progress on that bios screenshots sorry. Good news is my babygirl is doing good, today was her original due day so another birthday . So far my friend offered me 2 cpu and 2 boards to pick from as I write above. Both MOBOs memory topology is T topology. Now I am waiting to get set of 4 ram stiks by mail in 5-7 days. Let you know how it’s running.
Thank you LnB
I have the same motherboard. I followed all the steps you wrote. I am sending you a bios file and it contains an error message. Please can you help me too? I have an i7 7700K processor.
