[Request] MSI B250I GAMING PRO AC - Modded bios to run i5 9400F

Hi Guys,

I’m new to this forum. Ive been reading some of the guides, but it’s just so much information around this, and some of it seems outdated. But I’m amazed at the work that has been done here.

First of all. Is what i want to do even possible with this motherboard?
Second - Whats the easiest way to go about it now? Maybe somebody already have a modded bios that I can just flash?

Thankful for your support, or just pointing me in the right direction

@brottochstraff - Moved thread for you, I assume you meant to requests What BIOS version are you using now?? Do not update.

What is your current ME FW version? Check on BIOS main page, or with DOWNLOAD HWINFO64 HERE as shown below

Do you have flash programmer? And, what is your i5-9400F SSPEC (written on top of CPU) - (U0) SRF6M, (P0) SRFAH, (R0) SRG0Z

Normally, you will need flash programmer to do this mod, unless you can do pinmod to unlock FD, otherwise you can’t write in the mod FD/ME regions of the BIOS

There is two “AIO” tools to do all the mods for you now -
svarmod’s tool (CoffeeTime) - [GUIDE] Coffee Lake CPUs on Skylake and Kaby Lake motherboards (66)
Revlaay’s AIO Tool - [TOOL] Easy automated Mod tool for Coffee Lake bios

Please download V11 ME System tools package from this thread below
Intel Management Engine: Drivers, Firmware & System Tools<br />
Once downloaded, inside you will find Flash Programming Tool folder, and then inside that a Windows or Win/Win32 folder (NOT x64).
Highlight that Win/Win32 folder, then hold shift and press right click. Choose “open command window here” (Not power shell! >> * See Registry file below *).

Here is a SIMPLE REGISTRY EDIT that adds “Open command window here as Administrator” to the right click menu, instead of Power Shell
Double-click downloaded file to install. Reboot after install may be required
> CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD CMD PROMPT REGISTRY ENTRY <

Once you have Admin CMD Prompt registry file installed, reboot and then from the folder mentioned above that directly contains FPTw.exe run this command and send me the file >> FPTw.exe -desc -d fd.bin
This way I can see if your FD is unlocked to write to FD/ME region or not.
