@Lost_N_BIOS
Thanks so much, I will be waiting for you.
@saltinbank - Thank you, I appreciate the praise very much!
Yes, it would be awesome to be able to teach people how to do mods, but each system is different and to make out a guide for every model would take forever, and then once done… next/new model is out already
For this mod, a few guides would be required >> How to edit vars (w/ involves how to extract setup, make IFR, find setting + varstore ID/info, then do actual edit)
+ the actual BIOS edit and any guide for that would be “per BIOS version only” or would have to make it two guides about how to find in assembly + do the setup edit (assembly edit + unsupress “stuff” seen in IFR etc)
I do try to make little how-to’s here and there, but it’s very hard to try and find time to consider making some general BIOS editing how to, there’s just so much to try and explain how to do
On top of that, especially relevant to this model for Bunny98 and or Insyde in general, I’m not always able to 100% see the exact correct edits myself
So sometimes may need 2-3 edits to get correct or remove necessary edits (so not really ideal to guide anyone through )
I “think” I have this model (PH315-53) edit all correct, 8 bytes to change here, 4 assembly bytes edit to reveal the menus and 4 more to unsupress OC menu + a few settings I noticed would be hidden from the get-go
And actually! I did show little How-To’ For PH315-52, for Hyppo & SODA - whatever version it was back then? But yeah, I do know what you mean It would be nice to have time to do!
It’s not very in-depth, but shows the actual edit and then we discuss @ Post #78
Next laptop you have, please do feel free to ask for help to mod if you need it! I don’t mind, and always enjoy the challenge
@Bunny98 - Here is your unlocked BIOS, flash it back via >> FPTw.exe -bios -f biosregm1.bin
http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fil…995958674711821
*** WARNING - To ANYONE with laptop and unlocked BIOS!!!
DO NOT try to enable this graphics card or disable that card, switch cards etc. Otherwise you will end up with no display output (ie black screen) and no way to recover except by blind flash or with flash programmer.
You can change graphics related settings, like changing memory sizes, or core speeds etc, just don’t try to disable one card or change which is main etc.
Additionally, be very careful when trying to undervolt CPU, you can leave BIOS unbootable due to CPU voltage too low (Sometimes even 0.05 is too much)
WARNING *** - This BIOS is user specific! If you are not user Bunny98 at Win-RAID.com forum, DO NOT USE THIS BIOS!!
If you do, and you are not Bunny98, then you will loose your serial, UUID, OG NVRAM, and possibly LAN MAC ID as well.
You have been warned!!!
@bunny98 - I see Advanced there, did you have it before? Let me check and see if other module needs edit too
OK, thanks. Please wait - Wow, there is a lot hidden in the original ADV too
@Lost_N_BIOS
No i dont have one
------------------
@Lost_N_BIOS
I just want to change my GPU TDP. mine now 80-90 I want to change it to 115.
@Bunny98 - Ohh OK, well I have one more edit you can try, it shouldn’t brick, but I am not 100% sure.
If you want 100% sure, you will have to ask for unlocked menu at BIOS-mods.com forum.
GPU TDP is not in a BIOS menu. That would be controlled by EC FW, or the BIOS itself. If it’s in EC FW you can’t change, but if it’s in vBIOS, you “Might” be able to
What is your graphics card model, so I can see if any tools are compatible with the vBIOS.
You can’t edit 2060 vBIOS thanks to Nvidia, so you are out of luck on that one, sorry
@Lost_N_BIOS
omg :c they said rtx 2060 with i7-10th comes with 115w but mine came with 90w :c I got scammed got it for 1500$
Demand a refund or replacement then, I would over $1500
it has been 2 months since i got it.
-----------------
@Lost_N_BIOS
then can i change my gpu clocks? and make it better? )
@Bunny98 - These are the only two vBIOS in your BIOS, so if you do have 2060 card and can see it with GPU-z, then your card’s vBIOS is on card and you can dump vBIOS w/ GPU-z, thus you can flash another brand/variant into there
GP108 E2902 SKU 100 - Version 86.08.2D.00.B7 - DevID 1D11 = GP108M [GeForce MX230]
GP108 E2902 SKU 100 - Version 86.08.2D.00.B8 - DevID 1D13 = GP108M [GeForce MX250]
But doing that is kinda risky, and best to only do if you have programmer and backup made FIRST, so you can recover if needed
Then, you would be able to use some other vBIOS with higher TDP already set. @Saltinbank may know a good vBIOS for you to use, I think maybe he has similar card and used other vBIOS too, but I’m not sure.
But, I do know you usually cannot edit vBIOS for modern Nvidia cards. Some you may get lucky and can mess with if you have programmer, but that is rare
* Edit - If you want me to post that other unlock BIOS menu attempt let me know, it may be OK and unlock, but also may fail and brick the BIOS entry (I suspect if this, you could reflash from DOS/Windows)
@saltinbank Hello sir can you help me please?
@Lost_N_BIOS these are pics from GPU Z

@Bunny98 - see my edit above
Not sure what you want me to do? You should have programmer in hand, and backup off the vBIOS chip directly, made, checked and confirmed OK first, and then you can try and see if you can edit TDP without bricking vBIOS.
But, I assume it’s a no can do type of thing, since this is new/modern Nvidia, they sign the vBIOS and you can’t edit.
@ket that applies to all 2060 laptop vBIOS too, correct?
@Lost_N_BIOS no thanks then I don’t want to break anything but can u unlock hidden options for me without breaking the bios? if you don’t mind
If you want for sure OK, best to ask for this model to get unlock over at BIOS-mods.com forum.
I’ve never unlocked this one, and since what I sent did not work, the only other module edit I see (SetupUtilityApp edit on top of SetupUtility edit I already sent you) may or may not be what’s needed.
