Try this bios and boot to full Uefi: Z97G43Mod.rar (6.0 MB)
For Above 4G Decoding, your varoffset is at 0x1, follow this guide from step 5 to enable, and dont forget to Disable CSM or set boot mode to UEFI only (no legacy stuffs except legacy usb), then go to modded efi grub and follow the guide to enable Above 4g Decoding. First you gotta disable it and enable it (which means setup_var 0x1 0x0, press enter, type reboot and press enter, repeat again but this time setup_var 0x1 0x1).
After you finish, go to Device Manager > View > Resource By Type, and see if there is Large Memory Tab. If its available, open this app as admin and set it to 13 first, enter, and reboot.
If everything successful, go to Device Manager > View > Resource By Type again and see if your gpu is listed in large memory, and then gpuz > advanced > vulkan and see if memory heap is all 8gb, no 256mb heap.
@Kuri0
Yeah that’s something that i really cant recall seeing… but i think it’s better wait for the user that provided the mod file to this user…
I have my doubts that this is direct related to your ReBAR DXE driver… i can be wrong.
I think you can add and modify stuff the blue region without any issues, I checked MSI Z270 GAMING M5 which was reported successful with patch to PCI modules and added ReBarDxe in blue region.
But changing red region which has microcode, PEI modules and some other stuff will cause boot guard error.
Or maybe, just maybe, OP could try to update the H.B0 pure file, and when it worked, OP could dump the bios fully with FPT, mod it, and flash it through FPT?
I remember the “Update Bios+ME” options does change the bios structure like it destroying itself somehow, on my Z68-GD65 G3 board, even tho i use MMTOOL to insert the modules.
Simple tell the thread what have you modified on the bios to the user, we know that you like to “customize” a bit too much for my taste…
This issue has never been seen using Kuri0 Rebar DXE… and we all know that modern ME FW wont be overwritten by normal methods, especially when its higher version, long is the way of Z68 and initial UEFI bioses…
Also… this has never been seen on hundreds of mcodes/nvme mods on MSI Z97 family, on this forum, i think the whole thread deserves a more decent explanation, especially Kuri0 and the user em question.
Do please provide the user, info for recover his motherboard, that’s the least we can do for helping him.
