Hello
I have a strange issue with this laptop:
Procesador: Intel Core i5 3210M (2500 MHz - 3100 MHz)
RAM: 8GB DDR3 (1600 MHz)
Video Cards: Intel HD Graphics 4000 (Integrada) NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M (DDR3) (1GB)
BIOS version : P04RAB
MICOM Version: P04RAB
It stopped working for no reason, it turned on, I could hear the cpu fan but It got no image , so i took it to a tech store and the guy manage to “fix it”. It now turns on but it shuts down after 45 minutes with no warning and not by overheating (I have checked the cpu temp), the tech guy has no idea why. I checked the charger with a multimeter and the voltage output is correct.
Someone in other forum sugested that BIOS ME region issue, needs to be cleaned. I Analyzed the BIOS using ME Analyzer and it is the result I get:
Any help would be apreciated.
@MCardona81 :
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
You should better check the Intel ME Region details of your currently in use BIOS, which is inside the laptop’s BIOS chip, by running the Intel MEInfo resp. MEManuf tool according chapter C of the start post of >this< thread.
By the way: A much better location for all questions regarding the Intel Management Engine is >this< Sub-Forum. Plutomaniac is our expert regarding Intel ME problems and can help you much better than me.

The ME region needs to be cleaned from initialization data and reflashed. You need to dump with “fpt -d spi.bin” and follow the cleanup guide. If you receive error 26 then check this post and ignore the first and last sentence.
Acodrding to the guide provided by @plutomaniac , I need an image dump of a model which comes with ME firmware version, the problem is that I cant find it anywhere. Samsung does not provide this files individually, the only thing we get is BIOSUpdate.exe that updates the bios automatically.
Your system has a ME firmware inside, it’s just the BIOS provided by Samsung is just the BIOS region and not the full SPI which has FD+BIOS+ME etc. That’s why your BIOS file does not show any ME at MEA. You need to dump your own SPI image using fpt -d spi.bin command as mentioned above and then work on that. It’s usually locked though (error 26) and thus the post I linked above.
@plutomaniac , I have a question about the the “pinmod” to bypass the error 26 :
this is my chip :

and the pin numbers I found about it is this:
http://circuits.datasheetdir.com/212/ALC269-pinout.jpg
Are these the right pin numbes?
I just want to confirm before doing it, I assume that if I do it wrong I could short out the motherboard
You need to short pins 1 (DVDD) and 5 (SDATA-OUT) at that audio chip.
Omg it worked!!!
It was very hard to pin them. I will contnue following the cleanup guide.
I was about to give up !! , thank you so much
I just finished doing the steps on the cleanup guide but now im getting error 28 : Protected range registered are currently set by bios, preventing flash access please contact target system bios vendor for an option to disable protected range registers
Any advice ?
Thnx
EDIT : Nvm , it worked, no shutdows after 30 min!!!
Thank you !
