[Solution] Win7/8.1 Drivers for USB 3.0/3.1 Controllers of new AMD Chipset Systems

I tried to use the mobo’s USB2 ports, not the ones from the back panel. Nothing works. I’ll take a look at your ISO files, thank you. Do you have Win7 Ultimate 64-bits ISO in there ?

@CiroConsentino Yes, there are Ultimate-Editions, in german and english. Like I already mentioned, the USB2.0-Ports don’t work like traditional USB2.0-ports on that chipset, that means that the native USB2.0 support that Windows has since XP x86 SP1 (2002) and Windows 2000 SP4 (2003) is not helpful in that regard.

Hi, I hope you guys can help me. I have been trying in vain to get these drivers to work on a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master.

I have (tried?) to slipstream the drivers (and the chipset drivers) into an updated Win 7 iso and none of the USB ports work during setup. Are any of the USB drivers incompatible with each other (I have slipstreamed all of the into the image)? Are there any other mandytory drivers that are reuired to get this to work, apart from the AMD chipset drivers (using the X470 for Win 7?

Edit: I forgot to apply the drivers to both indexes, but now that I have the initial install screen fails to load.

For clarification: I have extracted the drivers from the chipset installer to be able to slipstream them, but I have no idea which of those are actually needed and which might cause probelms if included. Same goes for canonkongs drivers - which of those do I slipstream for X570 + 3600X? Di I simply include all of them?

I’m trying to get this to work without having to use a PS/2 or USB PCIe card.

@viper63 Afaik there are no official drivers for Windows 7 for X570, and because of that I would suggest that you use the drivers from the start post or use one of my ISOs, the have USB- and other LAN-, WLAN-drivers slipstreamed into them. And some useful updates, not just all, to not bloat my ISOs and the Windows 7 installation for nothing. No manual updates required after a finished installation, that’s my general recommendation.
Or you can use one of my mobile slipstreaming scripts, but you would have to copy the needed drivers into the correct directory first, I did not create a script with files to this day, but I will, but don’t know how soon.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.

I was under the impression that the chipset drivers had to be installed/slipstreamed alongside the USB-drivers from the first post to avoid crashes. Is this not the case anymore?

I am asking because slipstreaming the complete chipset driver package (which includes stuff like uart and CIR drivers) along with the USB-drivers leads to hang-ups/freezes and prevents the install screen from loading.

Which of the drivers in the USB folder are actually needed for X570/Ryzen 3XXX? Which drivers from the official AMD chipset driver package (X470) are needed, which can (or should) be discarded?

EDIT:
I tried your ISO (deWin7x64_Pro_SP2.10.iso), but it hangs/freezes on the initial setup screen :frowning:

@Viper63 You are welcome.
I don’t slipstream any driver if it is not required for an installation or makes our lives easier, to avoid problems as much as possible. Therefore I don’t recommend to just slipstream any driver that you can find, especially if the chipset is not the correct one. (And I try to create ISOs for various different kinds of hardware used in PCs, if have enough to do with tests for that).
The driver that I include in my SP2.10 ISOs claimes to work with X570, therefore I ask you if your PC works with other installation mediums.
I recommend to disable fast boot, disable secure boot and don’t confuse UEFI boot with a GPT formatted USB stick and legacy boot with a MBR formatted USB stick.

I don’t think UEFI/legacy is the culprit - the installer loads fine without any additional drivers. Of course USB doesn’t work in that case either.

I am not slipstreaming drivers for the fun of it, but because canonkong recommends to install chipset drivers before installing the modded usb drivers and to slipstream them if needed:

Is this outdated information and slipstreaming/installing the chipset drivers first isn’t needed anymore? Or are the chipset drivers already included in Ryzen 3000_4000_Serise_149C_Drivers_B4_Win7_8.1_SHA256 ?

Addendum:

I finally managed to get it to load,but now setup is asking for a missing CD/DVD driver. I’m using a usb stick. As far as I can tell this might be related to missing USB drivers -the ones I slipstreamed beforehand. Notice also that my keyboard - connected to the same ports as my usb stick - works flawlessly.

Can anybody please help me out with this?

Again, any advice from somebody with a X570 mainboard and a Ryzen 2 processor would be welcome, as would be information whether or not chipset drivers still need to be slipstreamed - and if that’s the case which drivers from the installer.

@viper63 There is a specific way that the two official NVMe hotfixes need to be integrated, otherways they can cause an issue like that seems to be. How do you integrate your drivers exactly ?

I am using DISM++, but I used this script for the updates+hotfixes.

I have no idea why, but integrating Intel AHCI+Storage drivers “fixed” the problem. Is there any reason these should be needed at all for installing Windows on an AMD Board? Or might I be missing chipset drivers that are not included in AMDs chipset drivers (amd_chipset_software_2.04.28.626)?

Addendum:

I am trying to install Windows on a SATA drive.

Turns out I need to integrate the Intel storage driver as well as both Intel and Samsung NVMe drivers to the "CD/DVD device driver is missing" error from happening. This is strange.

As far as I can tell the script I have bee using should have slipstreamed all the necessary hotfixes, including teh NVMe ones. Notice that I am not even using a NVMe drive to begin with. Just to be sure, which Hotfixes would b the ones for NVMe, and in what special oder do they have to be applied?

Are they already integrated in your ISOs (e.g. deWin7x64_Pro_SP2.10)?

@canonkong
Can you tell me if it is still neceassry to slipstream the chipset drivers together with the drivers? If so, which drivers have to be included which should not be slipstreamed?

(also just in case, please let me know if double posting is allowed around here or if I ashould edit my prior post instead)

@Viper63 Integrating the two NVMe hotfixes without the correct way will cause the ‘CD/DVD driver is missing’ error, that’s why I asked how you do it. This script is not mine, so don’t ask me, what I know is that there is a copy command required beforce unmounting index two in the boot.wim, otherwise it will cause the mentioned error, even Windows supports native AHCI since Vista from 2007.
Yes, my SP2.10-ISOs do have the two hotfixes integrated.
You can find all the updated and drivers that I include in my ISOs in the so called directories.

Hy guys, so soon coming my new ASUS ROG STRIX B550-I motherboard, because i am upgrading from Asrock X470. And i am preparing my Windows 7 ISO file with Ntlite integrating drivers from here, also the APU driver. But it is unclear me, if my new Asus mobo has USB 3.2 ports, those will work with these usb 3.1 drivers?

@Atom_Ant Don’t confuse the meaning’s it’s just a inaccurate usage of the designations, everything since USB3.x is USB3.2xxx now.
Here is what I mean:

I225-V will not work on windows7. You should choose a motherboard with Realtek 2.5GbE NIC.

I assume than will work with b550 :). I am testing now my boot iso and boots fine with my x470, i have working USB ports. Expect the Samsung NVME driver not working, i dont understand why not, it used to. I only see my sata drives. And i am using the pure win7 x64 driver from here

What is that I225-V ?

@Atom_Ant Unfortunately I don’t know, but I am really curious if this works, please let me know.

Well thanks anyway. I am also very curios. Few days and new motherboard is here. If motherboard works well with Win 7, i will also buy a Renior APU to check if these drivers are working :D.

@Atom_Ant
I225-V is Intel 2.5GbE LAN Controller’s name. Some B550 motherboards have I225-V. No drivers for windows7.(can’t connect to the internet)

@isopc1999a Just because there are no official drivers doesn’t mean that these chips will never work with Windows 7, you can’t look into the future.
