The ASRock Z270 Taichi is a known problem board for Coffee Lake, Svarmod ported Z370 Taichi BIOS to Z270 Taichi but it refused to boot if overclocked.
You might be ok with a non-k CPU.
I don’t have access to that BIOS - you might want to try contacting Svarmod.
@chinobino Thank you for reply!
I didn’t know it was a known problem motherboard.
I try to contact him, thanks.
Thank you!
I ran 9100F on B250 Gaming K4 BIOS 2.00 Smoothly
Just want to clarify so i could do it correctly.
1. So this tool will does the entire guide from [GUIDE] Coffee Lake CPUs on Skylake and Kaby Lake motherboards ?
2. Do i still need to do PCI-E Fixing on the CPU as guide from Fixing PCI-Express for Coffee Lake CPUs on Sky/Kaby Lake non-Asrock(and some new Asrock) motherboards said?
3. Do i still have to flash the modded bios manually right?
i’m running on i3 7100 with MSI B250i gaming pro ac right now and planning to upgrade to i3 9100f and using my B250i as the motherboard.
BTW, Thank you for the tool.
Yes, it has PCI-E, NVMe, HT, etc. patches.
BTW Nice guide, to let you all know, just made a i3 9100F (SRF7W B0 stepping (no wiring/isolation needed)) working in a MAXIMUS VIII GENE with the following steps:
-Download this automated tool (dont put it where are whitespaces in parent dir names)
-Download a BIOS.CAP from ASUS website for your motherboard
-Run the tool on the downloaded BIOS.CAP, when it finishes you will get a NEW_BIOS.BIN
-Close all programs and flash (first the orignial .CAP, than) the NEW_BIOS.BIN with AFUWIN64 tool v3.05.04:
Using the AMI tool AFUWIN
[Guide] How to flash a modded AMI UEFI BIOS
Good luck!
So, only need to connect the two pins?
Depends on your CPU stepping.
I had a B0 stepping CPU, so for me no physical modding needed on the CPU.

I need assistance pls.
i use asus H170 Plus D3 with i3 7100, ME version shown in bios 11.6.xxxx. i moded the latest stock bios as described in first page. Then flash it with moded bios using afuwin64 /gan successfully.
Placed new i5 9400f Srf6m (U0), But have no luck, the fan spin awhile then stop.
Tried to flash moded bios using ftpw, successfully (i did disable secure boot and unlock the varset also).
Still no luck.
i did 2 pins connect.
Could you pls share your bios mod?
i use asus H170 Plus D3 also with i3 7100, i moded the bios and flash it with i5 9400f successfully. But have no luck, the fan spin awhile then stop.
Please help me!
I have asrock h270 performance mobo which has moded and used stability with i3-9100f steeping B0.
Yesterday, i just upgraded i5 9400f srf6m but it not working at all, fan just spin and stop immediately. I have try to short 2 pins by soft pencil 3B, isolate another pins in many ways but still no hope.
What is my problem? The bios, or i have mod cpu pins wrong way?

@asakajordan23 You will likely need to add the microcode for the 9400F to your BIOS, start over with a stock BIOS and add the microcode for CPUID 906EA.
9400F U0 with S-Spec SRF6M = CPUID 906EA
9400F P0 with S-Spec SRFAH = CPUID 906EC
9400F R0 with S-Spec SRG0Z = CPUID 906ED
@chinobino
Thanks for supporting me!
After modifying the bios with the tool, Can i flash the bios with the Instant flash inside bios or must use the four recommended software to flash?
@asakajordan23 Instant flash won’t allow you to flash a modified BIOS so you will need to use Intel FPT or a SPI programmer.
I have downloaded the most recent tool. and during the process there are 2 problems:
1. ssf.exe error
2. cannot load ssf
I use Win 10 Pro
Check your antivirus software hasn’t removed/blocked ssf.exe
it’s already disable (manual), i’m use windows defender
So useful and awesome.
Thanks millions.
I cannot flash bios because of the error “Invalid BIOS image”. Please help me. Thank you!
