Airo,
I tried to download the file, but zippyshare keeps redirecting to adware/malware, and other garbage files. I tried to right click and save as and it tried to download a pacmanPC installer.
can you use another hosting service, or I can PM you my email?
Hi, i have a this board and two 8160 QL1K cpus, however i cant get past code 00. i am not able to turn the board on with the button, and pressing down on the primary socket makes the board turn on but displays code 00. I have not recieved the coolers yet, so i cant test it with the proper pressure, right now i have to manually press down on the cpus. I have tried both the modded bios that the seller provided and the one you posted here and it makes no diference, i dont think the board is even trying to post. is my motherboard dead?
I very much doubt that you can properly settle cpu just with manual force. So no need to worry yet, wait for the coolers and then test. I even had post code 00 when bolts on water-block was not tighten enough.
I just recieved the coolers, and that did not fix it. Whenever i turn on the psu, the board automatically turns on with a code 00. There is no way to restart it or to manually turn it on. The most i can do is force it to turn off by forcing it with a few seconds on the power button, but it just remains off and there is no way to turn it back on exept for the psu.
First and foremost, did you flashed the modded bios? (with bios flashback) Next thing to check with one cpu and 1 stick of ram. If nothing else, the board /cpu is faulty
code 00 also be thrown bec. of unsupported CPU - but ql1k is supported form the very first release of the patch i believe
Yes, i have tried both the modded bios that the seller sent me and the one i downloaded from here.
It would be great if this could be solved
This link has gone bad, could someone reupload the modded 6605 bios?
The link is ok. It must be regional restrictions.
Where do you want me to reupload this file?
well i’m in germany and its 403 forbidden, anyway mediafire, google drive or mega if possible

@Airo ,
Thank You, I normally use Chrome, but setup FireFox portable with the addons you mentioned, and the D/L worked with no issue.
Sorry for late party. Is this modded bios can work with Xeon platinum qjvv (es2) cpu. I found reasonable price for this cpu on eBay but cannot find is it compatible with this modded bios.
Thanks
So, the 6605 BIOS is working fine however i was messing around with amibcp, but the changes I made dont seem to work. I flash with amiwin 5.06.01 /GAN - I got an UNLOCK Xeon but the Bios doesnt have a multiplier changing field exposed. Also XTU doesnt let me change the ratio in OS, I guess because Overclocking is disabled in the bios in atleast two settings.
When it comes to bios modding i’m a bit out of the loop since 2017. So I probably do it wrong. I just change the BIOS fields I want to be unhidden in AMIBCP to USER saved and flash. With no success.

Also ASUS USB Flashback doesnt like my modded BIOS’s - some signature check is upset - I found this from Lost_N_BIOS in the AMIBCP 5.02.0023 wont save signed bios for ASUS Z10PE-D16 WS Thread
"To get around this issue next time you want to mod, extract body from capsule using UEFITool, then mod that, once done, open stock cap BIOS in hex editor, go to 800h, open mod BIOS body in another tab of hex editor, copy all, then paste on stock BIOS at 800h, then save as new file with USB Flashback name."
But this doesnt seem to work for me…
@Airo ,
I was thinking the same thing these days and I had some interesting updates.
I found someone in China providing power modifications for this board, and he claimed that after the modification this board will be compatible with 240w TDP cpus, with a picture of this board boot up with p-8124 (240w TDP)
And I had a small chat with him. According to what he told me, this modification does not contain soldering work and will not void any warranty, the whole modding process takes about 2~3 hours and I have to ship the board to him or visit his place with the board (he specifically pointed out that if I decided to show up with the board, I will not be able to see the modding process. I have to wait outside.)
So, I guess this mod is about programming something.
After some research I found two threads may support my guess,
ES Xeon Discussion | ServeTheHome Forums
He pointed out that the VR will respond with a "not supported" acknowledgment if the CPU is not supported, by VID or something. And VR chip can be programmed.
chiphell.com/thread-2327410-1-1.html
In this thread, poster is playing AWS mb and there is a picture showing the package current limitation section.
in the description below "Current limitation in 1/8A increments. This field is locked by VR_CURRENT_CONFIG[LOCK] Value <= CURRENT_LIMIT"
I think this mod must have someting to do with VR, however I have no idea weather it is program the VR chip or BIOS or both.
if it is to program the VR directly, how to connect the programmer? The seller said won’t void warrany so there must be some pins for this job or it is done through BIOS.
BTW the seller asked about 155 usd for this mod, shocking
Hi All,
I have flashed the modded bios and i can boot the system and enter in the BIOS, bat nothing O.S. boot
I have tried gparted i686 and this works. I used this to clear NVME partitions.
can you help me? maybe i have to change something in the BIOS?
seams 32 bit os works and 64 bit not.
thanks
Gutigno
I enabled APIC in the BIOS and now Ubunto 21.10 installer boot.
now I’m trying to restore my previous windows 10 installation from veeam backup.
I hope to go well.
thanks
Gutigno
I installed debian 11 64 bit and works correctly
now I would try to install windows 10 but the screen stay with windows logo and doesn’t start.
any idea?
thanks
I recently got this board and upon installing a single QL1M ES it shows the same behaviour reported by others:
Boots directly on power on, Q code 00.
This is with the bios flashback done and I even did the flashing again with the SPI programmer no difference.
I also played with the rtclr, ME recovery and PCH manufacturing jumpers but it has made no difference.
I found on a different single socket Asus 3647 board that Q code 00 code was being caused by the board being cold, this was described in the negative reviews on amazon.
The bios seem to work fine for some and not at all for others. The people that do have a working system with ES procs could you tell me what revision is on the silkscreen of your motherboards. I personally have Rev 2.00.
