@Gutigno
I bought the cpu on local second hand digital market here, just by chance. for far less then what they sell at Ebay.
2 cpu well if you have a board which can take two (i dont) i believe in the thread another user already had this but you would need to mod the bios themself.
From ebahy it seems some boards recognize the CPU directly others such as the Sage you need to mod the bios.
Hope this answers your question, i needed an upgrade and am quite happy with my buy:-)
Hi @ChrisNg
I bought 2 xeon gold from ebay. The supplyer give me also the modded bios for my mobo. So i hope this time all work properly. I have to wait 10 15 days. When the cpu arrive I’ll let you know. Thanks Gutigno
@Lost_N_BIOS
Hi there … I’ve been fiddling with the 6605 BIOS and came up with a versions that has more overclocking features, hidden menus unlocked, adjustable memory timings, MSR 0xE2 and MSR 0x1AA unlocked.
With this it should be possible to install MAC OS … If anyone likes to give it a go please share your “EFI” Folder if you succeed.

thx a lot!
Airo,
Thank You!
Does this revision still support P-8136 CPU string support?
I do not want to sound offensive or insulative, quite the opposite, inquisitively, I want to ask a basic question is there any reason why it would not succeed?
I am looking for stability, and not a bricked board.
Also, what is "MSR 0xE2 and MSR 0x1AA unlocked"
Thanks👍
@ThatGuy2020
I have added the following CPUIDs
[img]
[/img]
Your CPU seems to have CPUID 50653 what I found in the cpu database so I don’t see any problem there.
Why you think that it will brick your board? If you are using a modded BIOS now than probably I made that one.
The revision model of my own board:
Model - WS-C621E-SAGE Series Rev 1.xx
BIOS version - 6605 05/26/2021
BIOS platform - AMI Aptio 5
And to answer your question: "what is “MSR 0xE2 and MSR 0x1AA unlocked” : These patches are needed for MAC OS.

@Airo
I bought 2 CPU Intel Xeon ORO 6148 ES qlns 20C 2.4GHz LGA3647 (Presa p) 205W come oro 6148, I don’t know the CPUID, but I would ask you if are supported in Your modded BIOS, thanks
Gutigno
My MoBo is WS C621E SAGE ASUS
@Gutigno
That would be CPUID 50652 , the same CPUID as the CPUs that I am using and YES with the modded BIOS you will be able to use them on the WS C621e SAGE board.
BIOS 6605 working with my 2x8160ES.
Turbo is working now thats great.
1000mhz
I do think its bios settings.
Did som bios settings last night, and it did not reboot
Well i have other pc’s
I probably reset bios tomorrow and start over.
Have 9 gpus in a atx case so its hard to reset

Its win 11.
Installed win 10 and 1000mhz arrived.
So win 11 is using turbo not win10.

Strange forum engine, I’ve posted this twice and it keeps disappearing.
Hi, Please help
I need help trying to get my video card to boot into hdmi 2.1. Monitor and card are capable (nvidia 3090 Fe and Asus PA32UCG)
I need to do this without CSM enabled. I can boot to the hdmi 2.1 if I have CSM enabled with video /legacy - If CSM is disabled, the monitor only comes on after windows fully loads.
So how do I boot to the video card and hdmi 2.1 without CSM enabled? If I switch to DisplayPort it all works with CSM disabled, but when I switch to hdmi 2.1 I never see the boot scree (just the error beep beep beep)
I need the hdmi to get the 144hz/ 10 bit / vrr etc that the monitor and card can do, BUT I also want to get my normal bios post screen.
Is there a trick or settings combo in PCI set up in bios? Anywhere in this bios?
I’ve asked asus for help on this for 13 moths and I have yet to get a usable solution
I figured, here more than anywhere is where an expert on the board can be found.
Thank you in advance
Jay
For clarification on above post. I have bios 6605, and have the old beta 9904, in both situations, I have no luck
Further clarification, I use macrium to back up and restore as well as resizable bar for my medical imaging software, CSM enabled seems to break one of the partions in macrium and prevents resizable bar in software from working correctly. So I’m trying to have both worlds: booting into bios and not use CSM.
Thank you again
@venturi
Hi,
I don’t have a direct fix for this issue, I’ll let you know if something comes to mind.
But A quick fix so you’ll be able to enter the bios would be is enabling the Aspeed AST2500 onboard vga and connect an old screen if you have one lying around.

Thank you, yes sir, that does work - it was just not as convenient / elegant as I had hoped. I’ve resorted to that before and have that as an “emergency measure”. Thank you for the reply. if I come across a solution I will provide it back here in this post as well.
Here is a link to my build, I’ve been at it since the board first came out and have updated the board to the latest hardware revision as well.
Her is are some to the build over time, to see what I did with these boards:
