Allow B0 stepping on Asus W621E Sage

Thank you Airo for helping me with the Bios / UEFI CSM issue. I went back to see if I could mitigate the CSM issue but it messes up the recovery software and a DB software. So CSM on isn’t my friend

any have moded bios for asus ws c621e sage to boot macos???

My WS C621E SAGE board doesn’t start. All I can get is “abnormal memory B0”. I guess the problem is in BIOS. The memory is Kinston KSM26ED8/32ME. Can anybody help me?

I tried used this 6605 ES modded bios via Flashback to run my Xeon P-8136, but unfortunately after the blue light stopped flashing…
The mobo did not turn on again, i tried to flash the original 6605 Bios via flashback, tried 3 different USB 2.0 USB Sticks, tried to reformat them in Gparted, gave them shorter names (C) …

I tried to flash it again without CPU, nothing worked.
Only the fans spin for a second , then it goes off.

What could i possibly do now?

[UPDATE]

After removing all components (no ram, no cpu, no anything) i flashed it again with Flashback. .

Now

1) it gives oui POSTCodes untill 00

2) Beeps one time to confim all fine + Keyboard numlock shines up

but…

no POST visual (change also VGA card 3 times to make sure it’s not this…)

I will now use FlashBack to flash it again with no components attached and then try again tomorrow…

KSM26ED8/32ME is UDIMM ECC.
this board supports RDIMM & LRDIMM

Hi there ,good folks.
May I ask ,if you have a bios mod for the ASUS WS Sage c621e, allowing
Xeon 8160 [ES version] CPUs to run on the board ?

Any help or guidance would be very appreciated.

Looking forward,

planlos78.

Could someone tell me how to replace the SECCORE volume? I have two A2 Stepping cpuid 50651 and those doesnt work with the new bioses - POST works fine however if you load any OS postcode b1 or 61 cant tell and the system hangs.
So I’d like to mod Verion 0801 with has the issue that es cpus stop at postcode BB abnormal Memory.

I’ve tried just replacing the seccore volume with one from the working bioses with uefitool - I’d just like to know if I’m doing something wrong

The manual says that the WS621E Sage supports an Intel Xeon Gold 6126, so I purchased a 6126F with Omni Path Fabric support hoping it would work. I carefully removed the nut on the motherboard that blocks the processor from being fully seated, but it just won’t boot (I tested that an official processor works with the missing nut).

Can someone help me mod the BIOS to accept a 6126F seeing as how the motherboard accepts a 6126 it would make sense this could be possible.

I have been in a kind of pit this last week trying to figure out why this board will only want to boot into windows for either 20 minutes or 20 hours before it crashes via a MACHINE_CHECK_VIOLATION and WHEA Uncorrected Error citing the CPU. I did get other errors throughout the week but at this point, I have no idea what could possibly be wrong as all the parts have been trouble shooted.

I have reseated RAM
Bent back one of the pins (damaged from previous owner)
Checked jumpers
Tried various BIOS settings cited from this thread
Tried multiple BIOS
Tried to install on NVME and SSD

Even after all of this, the issue seems almost worse as I would go into a boot loop randomly getting a Q-code 00 and then after about 4-5 reboots it would finally POST and get into windows. I feel like at this point I’m going to just get new CPU’s as these have just been a hassle. I’m more curious of how this is even happening at this point.

Setup:

Current BIOS: modded 6605
Dual 6148 ES
12 x 2133 mhz Samsung ECC RDIMM
Quadro RTX 4000

Even after reflashing a BIOS, it is stuck at code 00 for about 10-15 minutes or until I restart and then it POSTs. I just dont know if its the board or the CPU’s. I just need someone smarter than me to chime in.

hello friend, you can throw off the version with the added 50655. And then, apparently, it is not determined correctly, the temperature is -1000000 Celsius

Can someone modify the bios version 6801?

Try to set loadline calibration in the digi+ bios menu to the first level. Some problems with unstable post and loading can be solved with this.

@Airo it seems the download no longer works. Does anyone happen to have a copy of that modded 6605 BIOS?

Any chance of that 6605 being re uploaded?

Hello.
I have been using your bios mod almost since the beginning of development. Interested to try the new version. But the link is not active.

Hi, I having a problem with c621e, I’m running the latest bios 6801 and my Lan ports, usb and m.2 slot doesn’t work?
I checked that Intel me is stuck in recovery mode. Cant seem to get it to operational mode. I’ve tried the jumper recovery and that doesn’t seem to work, try flashing different version of bios and happened to get it to operational status once, but upon a couple of reboots, it’s back to recovery state. Any help

I’m running (2) Xeon plat 8173m with 384gig of ram

Hello,

@Airo is it possible to get the 6801 bios modified to support the P-8136 Xeon platinum CPU please?
here:

Thank you
