Hi all,
I’m trying to update with UBU 1.8.0 my ASUS P8P67 Motherboard BIOS Version 3602:

So the UBU can’t update the OROM Marvell 88SE9120 from 1.0.0.1029 to 1.0.0.1038 because of insufficient space remains to add the file 2f4ddd35-f8c0-46d2-b0e3-a701360d7499 (PcieLaneDXE)!
What I need to do to update Marvell 88SE9120 OROM to the latest version?
Thank you all in advance!

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
I can confirm, what you have written. This is what I got:
So it is not a bug of the UBU tool, but just a space problem of the AMI Aptio MMTool to replace the module.
Maybe SoniX knows a solution.

Fernando
Hi.
try modding this bios with UBU it can Update marvell sata modules: http://och.boxup.ir/fileup/uploads/14071391711.rar
EDIT by Fernando: Unneeded parts of the fully quoted text removed (to save space)
@ErfanDL
Yeah, thank you. I see than on your computer MMTool is working OK.
But on my computer and as we can see on Fernando’s computer MMTool is not working well.
I’ve tested this on 3 more machines and the result is always the same - Not working!
So I don’t know the reason.
Regards,
mswg
Do you like I mod your BIOS with latest update ?
@ mswg:
Very likely same problem like here with the very similar BIOS of the ASUS P8P67 (REV 3.1) BIOS 3602.
[Tool] “UEFI BIOS Updater” (UBU) (21)
Here is the reason:
[Tool] “UEFI BIOS Updater” (UBU) (21)
an the solution:
[Tool] “UEFI BIOS Updater” (UBU) (21)
I think the principle should work for your BIOS too because the main difference of the ASUS P8P67 and the ASUS P8P67 (REV 3.1) is only the different USB3-chip (NEC and ASMEDIA).
@mswg :
You can remove the following (unused) to gain some space:
Marvl ST (1b4b,917a): Removed, unused
Marvl ST (1b4b,91a0): Removed, unused
Marvl ST (1b4b,9120): Removed, unused
For the Marvel controller only (1b4b,9172) is used (tested, I own this board).
Nice TOOL… Thumbs up
Would wondering UBU 1.81 I saw cpu microcode there 1155over.ffs 6a7-28. while non overclock 6a7-29. rev 29 is better than 28? the overclock version is good because It wont cause to clear cmos if overlock fail. just wondering the microcode rev 29 any good for processor? thanks
@ 9tailsfox
As far as I remember, 28 microcode for stable overclocking requires less voltage than 29.
Hi all.
I’ve been reading a lot of extremely instructive and well written stuff around here and I’m almost ready to start using UBU. However I still have some questions. First one is for Sonix
I’ve noticed that Intel RST OROM 12.9.0.2006 with “TRIM6” support in UBU is different in 1 byte at offset 0x17 from the same modified OROM that can be downloaded from here. According to CPL0 method, modifyng that offset is not required for adding the TRIM support.
Hello SoniX! I can confirm that Rev 28 CPU micro-code for Sandy Bridge is better than Rev 29, and recently I’ve tested Rev 1B for Ivy Bridge and it’s seems that Rev 19 is better…
Would be nice to have in UBU an option for CPU micro-code update dedicated to Overclockers (SB 28/IB 19) and another option for people who want the latest CPU micro-code (SB 29/IB 1B)…
Thanks in advance for your patience and kindness.
Cheers,
KK
@ Reducer:
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
The checksum-8 of all original Option ROM files is 0 and the byte at offset 0x17 is the one, which can be altered to correct the checksum of the Intel RAID ROM modules. The TRIM modded Intel RAID ROM modules, which are within the UBU tool, are already checksum corrected, whereas the modules I am offering within the start post of >this< thread, are not yet checksum corrected. The manual checksum correction of modded Option ROM modules is not really required, because the BIOS tools like the AMI Aptio MMTool does the checksum correction automaticly while inserting the module.
So the difference between both modules is nothing to worry about.
Regards
Fernando
Ok. Will be done.
Hello SoniX and thanks a lot! Fast and kind as usual…
Cheers,
KK
hey, thanks. So meaning ver 28 is better than ver 29 for overclocking. because just wondering 29 microcode from date 2013 while 28 microcode is date 2012. So just wondering any improvement for the latest version. Seems like ver 28 is better I might flash to back to ver 28
EDIT: Great!
Hope to see the latest version with overclock feature. thanks
Edit by Fernando: I have merged the 3 posts to save space within this already very voluminous thread.
First, a big thanks to Sonix and Fernando for this handy utility. Since I got the following message (using v1.8.1):
3 LAN OROM PXE and EFI UNDI - Intel, Realtek, BCM, QCA
OROM Realtek PXE - 2.56
Found EFI Realtek UNDI - GUID Unknown. Please contact me.
I post here to let you know that I uploaded the BIOS file to http://1drv.ms/1ovPJKj
[Edit: I attached the extracted module here (GUID: 82CBD50E-D18A-46A8-B14B-4D206B33183F)]
I believe the PC has Realtek LAN integrated on MB, but can’t check right now because I changed disks to MBR to boot CSM for flashing under DOS, while OS is installed in GPT-mode. LAN did show up in EFI-mode under win8, but not in SCM-mode under win7.
Neither can I locate the chip on MB. Hth. If you need more information, I’m always willing to help.
Anyways, happy coding!
Rick.
