Hi, sorry for bothering you. Could you explain me why on my Maximus VI Extreme mobo, UBU won’t update haswell vbios, leaving it at 2179 version instead than the new one ?
(It’s the same for me, of course, but I’d like to know why ubu doesn’t update it).

For update in UBU Tool (only v1.20 and above), files saved as:
- Sandy/IvyBridge -> ‘Modules\VGA\vbiossib.dat’
- Hasweell/Broadwell -> ‘Modules\VGA\vbioshsw.dat’

Thank you Sonix for not only making this app but also for the continuing of updates for it.
I used it this evening (Version 1.27) and when it came to updating the CPU code, there were two listings
1 for Haswell and 1 for Broadwell. I just updated the Broadwell and there is now only 1 listed and that lists
as Haswell/Broadwell, have I done this right or, did I mix it up? I have just bought a new i7 4790K cpu and just
wanted to make sure that the BIOS was as up to date as it could be.

If you do not use the processor Broadwell, then do not update its microcode.
I tried to flash it in both DOS and BIOS Recovery, it gives a warning on integrity check and stopped. I don’t think I can flash the BIOS without signing it.

You have to use the "Bios Flashback" procedure putting this bios into a USB Stick (NTFS formatted).
That’s an Asus feature
For the ThinkServer, I already tried to use the BIOS Recovery USB and it won’t even flash. When I put the original BIOS, it will flash regardless.

SoniX, I have thanked you before for making this utility available but I must now thank you again for the well laid out instructions of how to use it.
I used it to modify my BIOS and today I plucked up the courage to install it, WOW, it sure did help.
One thing I would ask, is there a way to change the BIOS number? The version that was on my machine was F6 and I wanted to change that number
to reflect the modification but, even though I called it F6B, it still shows as F6. Other than that little thing, it is great.

I think that you can change the version of the BIOS, utilities use ~ DMIEdit or AMIBCP.
I am wondering if it is not posible to create a UBU Tool but only for the Aptio V BIOS where the the script uses UEFITool to replace the IRST EFI and OROM files.
This should be doable to create a script similar to that of UBU Tool where it scans the Aptio V BIOS and lists the IRST EFI and OROM versions inside the BIOS
just as it does now and also lets you update the BIOS with the collection of IRST EFI and OROM files included with it.
If I use a series 6-chipset motherboard, I wouldn’t need to use the Intel BMP to actually upgrade my iGPU vBIOS, right?
Also, would the v124_ILT be applicable in my environment or should I just use the latest v127?
