@Bread :
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
Since there is already a thread with the topic "CPU Microcode BIOS modding questions/problems", I have merged both threads resp. moved the posts of your freshly created thread into the already existing one. This way all CPU Microcode related questions and answers can be found within 1 thread.
I hope, that this is ok for you.

tell me its alright to flash
I am just worried about it having three modules
then after flash theres only one.
All is normal.
k how do I flash this? none of the tools are working
K Thank you Everyone for the help.
I am now running at my maximum single core turbo on all 4 of my cpu cores.
400 MHz over max 4 core turbo.
this is the guide I used to Flash modified Bios
[Guide] How to Flash a Modded BIOS on a ASUS Z97 Motherboard
it worked perfectly.
Motherboard: Z87-A
Is a certain microcode needed to use haswell refresh cpus or will they work fine with version 7?
It depends on what you run. You may need up-to-date Haswell-E microcode for stable operation if you run any of:
1. virtualization (such as Virtualbox or VMware)
2. Any software that does hardware lock elision or transactional memory (good luck find this beforehand)
3. You are not extremely lucky
Also, if you get MCEs (machine check errors) or misterious hangs/crashes. Also, if you cannot install (from scratch) Windows 10 or Linux, because it crashes/hangs during installation.
i.e. yes, you do need the latest Haswell-E microcode if you want your rig to run anywhere close to stable.

I already posted this in another thread, but maybe this thread was more appropriate and I hope posting again won’t hurt anything:
Intel just released news that it is going to ban Skylake Non-K CPU OC feature and Acer has already updated their latest BIOS with a new MicroCode that disabled Non-K CPU OC feature Acer released previously in their BIOS update.
Questions:
1. Can UBU integrate Acer’s Non-K OC CPU MicroCode into newer Acer BIOS releases and will UBU allow it, considering Intel’s ban on that feature? I know that UBU allowed (and still goes) use of different CPU MicroCodes on Sandy and Ivy Bridge CPU’s. I hope the same goes for this Skylake Non-K OC MicroCode…
2. Can UBU integrate Acer’s Non-K OC CPU MicroCode into other manufacturer’s BIOS updates? I was hoping at least ASUS, Acer, GigaByte, MSI could utilize Acer’s Non-K CPU OC MicroCode…
I don’t think acer is in the motherboard market.
Of course UBU will allow you. Whats the whole point of this website if we were to follow intel rules?
it will probably work. though you might be one of the first testers of it.
first of all thanks to all the great and dedicated guys helping out in this community. Been lurking around on this site for a while and finally had the time to actually work on my BIOS file.
I run a Xeon 1231 on a MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition. Wishing it to run @maxTurboClock on all Cores using MCE(MultiCoreEnhancement) i was looking for help here and there.
Eventually used the superb easy guide to try and mod the BIOS. For now i got a modded file but before i go to the flashing part i would like to know if this is normal:
the modded BIOS-file looks like this (CPU Microcode), contains only one Microcode
AFTER MOD
BEFORE MOD
a) is it ok so i shall flash it now?
b) isnt there a way to mod the latest microcodes to handle all CPUs like K-CPUs and unlock MultiCoreEnhancement?
how can i make a bin microcode patch from an intel microcode.dat

Hello my Media Server Shut down. asrock Board h87 i.S. Broken now. CPU was 3,7 ghz all core Turbo.
Non k overclock
I do Not wish to Buy same old chipset again.
I see h97 mods with microcode for equal CPU Speed?
What mostly new and microcode unlock I can find as good replacement for my Xeon?
Bclk OC not really needed for max 3%. (Z chipset) I think.
I only see x97 chipset got m2 slots. But all I see in spec reading if you use it. Some SATA ports get disabled. As I need all SATA. I can not use this. This is no benefit. I see no new else? Does it make sense to get new version chipset it is no difference?
What can you suggest me or point me to right direction to catch mod bios with mc downgrade for newest chipset? Thanks
May still go buying good old long proven hardware? H87’’

One more Thing. Before i used Asus Workstation Server Board with ecc. Good. But cheaper desktop chipset multi core Enhancement perform faster. But ecc ram buying was a big waste.not supported.
I need big DDR3 ecc ram I have here. Virtual boxed. IS. There any chipset ecc ram Mainboard which can have patch 07? C222/224/226
Or just my wet dreams about max speed bundled together with max stability hehe
Sorry PC offline. Because motherboard . Mobile texting at the moment
Why you use z chipset Mainboard with non k Xeon? It is locked. Only turbo possible I know. Can you OC by bclk Xeon and turbo core?
Downgrade microcode for patch 7
Hello i have a AsRock N68C-GS FX motherboard it can handle amd fx cpus even the FX 6200 Zambezi (almost) so i wonder if it’s possible to patch the bios with FX 6200 Zambezi microcodes i have tried to find patch files for ami with no luck
@alandicade :
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
Since I don’t have any experience regarding the modification of the AMD CPU Microcode, I cannot answer your question.
To improve your chances to get help from anyone of our CPU Microcode experts, I have moved your post into this already available CPU Microcode discussion thread.
Maybe it will be a good idea to split this thread later on into an “Intel CPU Microcode” and an “AMD CPU Microcode” one.

@x7lspu4a :
Since the CPU Microcode experts of our Forum may not find it, I have just moved your post with the title “Microcode Patch /7 Mainboards 1150 Sockel” from the “Off Topic” Forum section into this already existing thread.
You and your helpers can find it >here<.
Hi, as stated in the success/failure flashing bios thread, i coudn’t choose with ubu the cpu microcode update.
I have an amd fx 8350 cpu on a GA-990XA UD3 rev.3.0 mobo.
What i mean is this:
Can it be forced to update somehow?|addpics|6hp-1-b551.jpg-invaddpicsinvv|/addpics|
