[Guide] How to flash a modded AMI UEFI BIOS

@SevenAngel :
It may be a good idea to attach the original and your modded BIOS as *.ZIP or *.RAR file. Alternatively you can upload them to a hoster and give us the links.

OMG sorry,i thought i cant post link in this forumā€¦thereā€™s my bios sir,please help me to check it for support nvme ssd Google drive

@SevenAngel :
Where is your modified BIOS?
EDIT: Is it the file named 1301102.CAP.rom? If yes, you gave it a wrong (double) extension.

this is my modified bios sorry sir,last time im not attach my link modifiedā€¦

Look into my edited last post.

okay sir,maybe its my mistakeā€¦how about this new one?and also same thing sirā€¦ Bios and bios mod in rar ROM file size does not match existing BIOS size

@SevenAngel :
Your modded BIOS and the original BIOS have the exactly same size. You should not compare the RAR archives.
Have you tried to flash your modded BIOS after having given it the same name and extension (*.CAP) as the original BIOS file?

i tried already sir,still same thingā€¦can u help me to mod it for me?im very confuse about this thing

@SevenAngel :
The BIOS modification seems to be done correctly.
How did you try to flash the modded BIOS?

im using AFUWINx64 because i use windows 7 64bitā€¦is it correct? and i follow Methods for ASUS mainboards without USB Flashback support am i right sir with this thing?or i was wrong?

@SevenAngel :
Have you already tried to flash the modded BIOS named 1301102.CAP by using the standard BIOS flashing tool given by ECS?

yeah sir,i try alreadyā€¦i think this motherboard bios cant be MODā€¦btw,thanks sir for helping meā€¦

@glorifyday - here is what you need (they also come in bundle kits if you shop around) This is just to show you want you need and itā€™s cheapest slow way to get, just as example (3-5 weeks), but you can pay more $$ and get from other sellers on ebay or other places like Amazon, Newegg etc

@SevenAngel - dump BIOS region with FPT, modify that, then reflash with FPT (you may need to make some edits to unlock FPT flashing first though - [GUIDE] Grub Fix Intel FPT Error 280 or 368 - BIOS Lock Asus/Other Mod BIOS Flash )
Check BIOS main page and see if ME FW version is shown, if not then download HWINFO64 and on the large window on left side, expand motherboard and find ME area, inside that get the ME Firmware version.
Once you have that, go to this thread and in the section ā€œCā€ download the matching ME System Tools Package (ie if ME FW version = 10.x get V10 package, if 9.0-9.1 get V9.1 package, if 9.5 or above get V9.5 package etc)
Intel Management Engine: Drivers, Firmware & System Tools

Once downloaded, inside you will find Flash Programming Tool folder, and inside that a Windows or Win/Win32 folder. Select that Win folder, hold shift and press right click, choose open command window here (Not power shell).
At the command prompt type the following command and send me the created file to modify >> FPTw.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin

Right after you do that, try to write back the BIOS Region dump and see if you get any error, if you do show me image of the command entered and the error given >> FPTw.exe -bios -f biosreg.bin

If you are stuck on Win10 and cannot easily get command prompt, and method I mentioned above does not work for you, here is some links that should help
Or, copy all contents from the Flash Programming Tool \ DOS folder to the root of a USB Bootable disk and do the dump from DOS (FPT.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin)

I finish flash from dos and now my motherboard have no signal in my monitor,i try unplugged everything and nothing workā€¦can help me?reset cmos remove battery alreadyā€¦

@SevenAngel - I didnā€™t tell you to flash anything with DOS, so Iā€™m not sure what youā€™ve done. You will need the tools I linked above for sure now, you cannot fix by clearing CMOS or swearing at it
If you would have followed my post above, all would be fine and weā€™d have made you a mod BIOS and you would have flashed it and all would be OK,

I modded my ASUS ROG strix Z390E BIOS with UBU Tools for replacing Intel RST ROM. It seems to be successful.

But I never flashed it to my mainboard successfully. I was using AFUWINx64 with GAN command but didnā€™t work. It always stated that the bios file do not match.

I also using Ai3 and usb crashfree 3 methods and all failed. Can anyone help.

After read #533 from carefully from Lost_N_BIOS and his previous guide post, I have flashed my modded BIOS into my Asus ROG Strix Z390E motherboard.

It updated Intel RST RAID option ROM to latest version 17.5.3.4203.

I only used FPTW for dumping and flashing. I used UBU for modding.

Thanks to Lost_N_BIOS

The RST RAID EFI part also work fine.

Probably there is a new way to update AMD AM4 motherboards bioses with custom Flashrom.

Good Luckā€¦

Can i Use "B. Methods for ASUS mainboards without USB Flashback support . Using the AMI tool AFUWIN:" to flash .bin file , i`ve tried to flash by FPT but it got Error 368: Failed to disable write protection for the BIOS space.

@johnson82 - Error 268 is easy to fix, I made a guide here - [GUIDE] Grub Fix Intel FPT Error 280 or 368 - BIOS Lock Asus/Other Mod BIOS Flash
Be sure you dump your BIOS, then modify that, then reflash. Do not use your current modified stock BIOS with FPT
