Can someone please update mine for newer AHCI orom? I tried mmtool 5.0.24 and it doesn’t want to open my .rom/.cab file, it says its not aptio V image.

Here is my new .rom file, I used UEFI tool to inject nvme driver and it saved ar .rom later instead of .cap.

Hello,

i have a question relating to select the right vbios, because mine (Bearlake-B) is older than the described in the "Table VBT OROM"-document. Or is it done in the same way?
So, must it match with vbt-version and vbt-size? Is it also necessary to transfer the setting from old to new vbios?

Hi,
already got a lot information on this site… really great work… thanks.

I’m trying to update my BIOS to get a KabyLake I7-7700 working on a ASUS G20CB Mainboard (Rev. 1.06), PCH = H170, which originally runs with a SkyLake (i7-6700). The extracted VBIOS.dat and UBU says it has the version 1024. Now i´m searching for the corresponding BSF (maybe skl_1024.bsf), but didn´t found it anywhere.


Does anyone have this script file?

Is there another way to update VBIOS?

EDIT: okay… i should read point 3*… there are compatibilities… sorry. my mistake.

Managed to update vbios, ME, uCodes and more. Tomorrow I will flash the image. Will it blend… ah… work

Update: It doesn´t work… even another version, with just vbios, GOP and uCode-update fails to boot.

@SoniX Maybe you have got OROM VBIOS+BSF files for CherryView version 1005? I know it is very old but as I said here I need it to mod bios for my Acer.

My Mobile Broadwell BIOS has 2 DevID’s…
406 and 416

I used the 406 and was successful…
Went back to the 416 and the extracted file looked to be the same
Is it ok to have 2, and if so should I update both?
