Updated Collection Intel OROM in "VBIOS_and_BSF.7z":

Update to 1039 from 1037 by manually applying all settings. Thanks!!!

Asus maximus hero VIII bios 1601 on a skylake C8.

Hello, i have a small comprehension question.
As far as i can tell the EFI GOP driver and VBT table are separated, while the (legacy) OROM driver includes both.

Can the VBT be extracted from the OROM for using it for the EFI GOP driver?

If you are using Legacy mode is used with the internal BIOS OROM nastroykmi.
If you use the UEFI mode for GOP Driver uses the settings from a separate file VBT.

No. In VBT for GOP used their settings and they are different from the OROM settings.

Having problems extracting my settings from my Sony VAIO VPCL22DFX All In One vbios, I would like to update it to sandy bridge 2171 Mobile but my VBT 0F60 size and settings are non standard, any help with this?

Updated Collection Intel OROM in "VBIOS_and_BSF.7z":
- added OROM VBIOS+BSF Skylake/Kabyake v1040
(Thanx to plutomaniac. )

Update manually from 1033 to 1040. GPU-Z says bios unknown. No problem from 1033 to 1039ā€¦only 1040. Any idea? After flash de new bios, if i enter to the uefi bios i can see version 1040 on vbios but after the first restart itĀ“s gone and gpu-z says also bios unknown. Strangeā€¦

@jlmcr87
Attach the file you made.
See BIOS version in other programs. For example, in AIDA64.

Finally i do it but not manually. I used the transfer.ssf method even the versions 1033 and 1040 are different, and now it works correctly.

I donĀ“t see the difference between use the transfer.ssf and copy manually all the things. All the new options in 1040 that are not in 1033 left unchanged.

Hey @SoniX ,
thanks for this great Tutorial.
However, i have a question:
I have a Dell Vostro 3350 Notebook with a Intel Core i5-2410M - Sandy Bridge CPU.
I try to update my vbios for my HD 3000 at the moment.

Version VBT: A1 00
size VBT: 0F 61
Version OROM: 2098

I looked ath the ā€˜Table VBT OROM VBIOS Version and Size.docxā€™ file.
There is a VBT with the Version A1 00 available but the filesize doesnā€™t fit.
So iā€™m unsure, what to do.

Maybe you or someone can take a look at my bios/vbios?

PAGE Device 2: $Int_EFP2_Dongle_Detect : Unable to find symbol.
PAGE Device 3: $Int_EFP3_Dongle_Detect : Unable to find symbol.

Whatā€™s your recommondiation?

@ MaCXyLo

If you have everything working well, then do not change anything. It is my recommendation.
If you want a new VBIOS, the experiment. I do not understand half of these settings.

My BIOS has 2 Mobile DevIDā€™s. 406 and 416. What should I use?
In UBU is shows 4 versions of the OROM VBIOS as well. Screenshots and BIOS from Dell attached.

Please attach the BIOS file.

Weird it should have been with the post. BIOS should be on this one.
The BIOS is 8MB, so I zipped it.

@ tabascojoe
This BIOS is really 4 OROM VBIOS
DevID - Version
402 - v2179
406 - v2171
416 - v2171
a26 - v2171
Settings for all versions of the 2171 are identical.

Try to determine how you used the Device ID to the OS. This will be your working OROM VBIOS.

How can I determine Device ID to the OS?

@ tabascojoe
GPU-Z, AIDA64, Properties of video in a snap "Device Manager" operating system.
