We have 10.1.1.44 ( latest), still DUMO wants to push us to version 10.1.3.1 ( much older) !
Contacted them already , but they keep holding on 10.1.3.1…WHY ?
How can we get back to 10.1.3.1 ( from 10.1.1.44 ) ??
Pete12; that depends on your microarchitecture. I have HaswellE so 10.1.3.1 is the latest for me.
You can “downgrade” to any compatible driver, if you do it manually and force the installation by using the “Have Disk” button.
Never used the "Have Disk" button , will you,please, explain how to use this button ?
That’s just if you have a floppy disk, or an external disk. you don’t need to use this option if you have the files in your own folders. just click on
“Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer”
Does not work !
" best driver already installed " …so I can not back from 10.1.1.44 to 10.1.3.1 …??
You can try this Pete12. At the device manager > properties of the one item > click the driver tab.
Couple of ways to handle this:
Option 1 - click on "Rollback driver" and it should go back to the 10.1.3.1 you had (unless you deleted it)
Option 2 - Click on "Uninstall device" and then you will be prompted to delete the driver too. Say yes. Then the device will disappear for a while. The system will either scan itself, find the device again and then it will install the driver it has on record which should be your 10.1.3.1 (again, unless you deleted it) or you have to click on the "Scan for hardware changes" icon and then it should do the same thing.
See if either option gets you back. I used Option 1 and has worked all the time because I had not deleted the driver like what you can do in option 2 which does delete the driver from the repository. Option 1 is the better bet.
Very good , unless you deleted previous , which I did .
So, I guess not possible anymore …
Maybe other option(s) still ?
No problem: After having chosen the “Let me pick…” option, click onto the “Have Disk” button and navigate to the INF file you want to get installed (can be located on any partition of your system) and click onto it.
After the reboot the related driver will work (the version and its date doesn’t matter).
" navigate to the INF file you want to get installed (can be located on any partition of your system) and click onto it." …dont have the 10.1.3.1 files anymore !
They are within the package named “Latest Intel Chipset Device INF Files v10.1 Series WHQL comp 02-23-2018”, whch I am offering within the start post.
OK, job done ! DUMO wont bother me anymore with these "nasty " inf-files !
Only remaining Intel MEI , according to DUMO , I should go from 11.7.0.1057 to 1803.12.0.1093 (??)
Yes. I have given you instructions on how to update to 1803.12.0.1093 here on your post
DUMO ; We should go to 1803.12.0.1093 ??
@SalviaSage :
@Pete12 :
Your hunt after the “latest” drivers is not easy to understand. Especially regarding the Intel Chipset INF files it is wasted time. You will not benefit by any “updated” Intel Chipset INF file (not now and never in the future).
Please read carefully the start post of this thread.
I see , though its very nice when running DUMO and you get ; " no updates available "…
Update of the Start post

for asus p6t chipset x58 is necessary install intel inf chipset on windows 8.1 or 10?
@maur0 :
As long as the Device Manager doesn’t show any yellow or “missing driver” flags, there is no need to install or update the Intel Chipset Device INF files.
Hello
I compared the version of some drivers (.inf) and I am lost
For example,
10.1.17570.8086 WHQL :
Skylake-ESystem.inf: 10.1.8.2 (1968/07/17)
KabyLakePCH-HSystem.inf: 10.1.11.1 (1968/07/17)
10.1.17541.8066 WHQL :
Skylake-ESystem.inf: 10.1.8.3 (1968/07/17)
KabyLakePCH-HSystem.inf: 10.1.11.1 (1968/07/17)
10.1.1.44 WHQL :
Skylake-ESystem.inf: 10.1.1.44 (2017/11/11)
KabyLakePCH-HSystem.inf: 10.1.1.44 (2017/11/11)
It’s better to keep the 10.1.17541.8066 compared to the version
The 10.1.1.44 compared to the WHQL certification date (most recent)
Or which are the last ?
Thanks
@tistou77 :
You should better ask Intel than me regarding their variable version and date numbering.
Fortunately the release of such wrong resp. misleadingly typed text files doesn’t have fatal consequences for the users, because a wrong text file cannot brick a running system.
My advice: Keep the Intel Chipset INF files you have currently installed and don’t care about any “update” of them. It is wasted time!
