[OFFER] ASUS P8Z77-V Series BIOSes modded with latest modules

thank you @stardreamer77 , however I’m satisfied!

@Musashi - I do not see a P8Z77 PRO at Asus site, only P8Z77-V PRO (This topic main reason for being), or P8Z77M-PRO.
You need to check to be sure what you have, if you have P8Z77-V PRO, then see post #16 on page 2, but this BIOS is stock+NVME only, no microcode updates
If you don’t want to update microcodes with UBU, or can’t figure that out, let me know and I can update that BIOS again with all microcodes.

@Fernando - Yes, I agree, maybe title needs edited to include all variants…
But there is no worry for user to flash wrong BIOS, USB Flashback wont allow that, even if they tried to rename wrong BIOS to their USB Flashback name (Only heavily edited BIOS, with this cross-flash purpose in mind allows that to be possible)

@Lost_N_BIOS Its the P8Z77-V PRO my bad but its really the only one thats pretty popular. as for the micro code I have no clue how to do it… so if you could make it to the lastest that would be great  also do you know how to overclock the G.Skill Trident X PC3-19200 DDR3 2400 8gbx2 RAM (F3-2400C10D-16GTX) I cant seem to get it to 3000 or 2800mhz…only 2440mhz…

Thanks

@Lost_N_BIOS Hi! I have p8z77v-deluxe. At the moment I have a sata3 SSD Samsung Pro and a RAID 1 HDD Raid but I am planing to upgade to a NVME M2 SSD and keep the RAID 1. What is the best combination to be up to date and can you help me make that bios?

Also second question is it possible to change the boot screen to something else?

Anyone around that has flashed a P8Z77-V LX and can tell me how it needs to be done?

I read in the manual that it has a recovering mode. I renamed a bios file to P8Z77VLX.CAP and put it in the root of a FAT32 usb stick but have no idea how to enter the recovery mode.

thx.

to flash a "mod" bios, you need "USB BIOS Flashback" not the "recovering mode" , because when use "USB BIOS Flashback" the system didn’t check if the bios file is modify or not as long as the file name is correct. and "recovering mode" is boot into current bios and flash the "mob" bios in EZ flash , but since the bios you want to flash is "Modify" and the EZ Flash won’t flash it. i didn’t see any USB BIOS Flashback function in P8Z77-V LX manual… so…

Any idea how it then has to be done? I am trying AFU but then I get a ‘Error: BIOS does not support AFU’

I am currently trying with AFUDOS v3.06.01

No matter which file I try that was pasted here I get an error:
- Error: ROM file size does not match existing BIOS size.

However the .CAP file sizes are the same as the original bios .CAP size.

@Lost_N_BIOS are these mods suppose to work or do I need a different mod since I have the asus P8Z77-V LX ?

i am not an expert on bios … but you can go read this first… [Guide] How to flash a modded AMI UEFI BIOS

That is what I am using only since I don’t have windows I was using the DOS version.

I also just modified the original bios myself following the steps here ([Guide] How to get full NVMe support for all Systems with an AMI UEFI BIOS ) but that gives the same error when trying to flash it.

I used UEFITool.exe to extract the body of MORPHEMIC’s CAP from post #1 and save it as a ROM and then was able to run AFUDOS /GAN without errors.

Is this the proper way to do it and how can I now check if the bios has been updated to confirm success?

thx again!

the bios from post #1 MORPHEMIC’s CAP is for P8z77v-pro , i no know what you "extract" … and what "additional feature" that you want to modify the bios.
if you want nvme boot support for your board, you can go [Guide] How to get full NVMe support for all Systems with an AMI UEFI BIOS
as far as i know , you need to get the original bios for your P8z77-V LX from asus website, then inject the nvme boot module to the original bios and then flash the modify bios. (detail at the link above…)

i am also a newbie in bios modded… sorry … can’t help you much…

Did not modify anything. Just saved the ROM from the CAP if I understand it correctly.

Need some pro to shine his light on the matter

Hi, I have an ASUS P8Z77-V PRO running an i7-2600k updated to the latest BIOS v2104. I have an Akasa AK-PCCM2P-01 M.2 SSD to PCIe adapter card to which I will fit a WD_BLACK SN570 1Tb.

I had a go at adding NvmExpressDxe_4 to v2104, I would be very happy if someone could verify the modded bios in the attached file?

I had a look round the forum and found references to updating microcode (for i7-2600k?), but I am unsure of what microcode updates are required and what they are updating?

If this should be posted elsewhere, please point me in the right direction!

Thanks,

rdrslstrk

@rdrslstrk - Why are you making two posts for the same thing? And, why did you make this in the “drivers” section of the forum??
I will merge this back into the main thread, and remove your original post there since it’s same as this one * Edit - Merged

I will check your BIOS, but please confirm, do you also want upgraded microcodes or not?
There is already NVME mod BIOS for your model on the thread you linked (page 2, post #16, I re-upped just now too, to avoid any confusion about the extension)

* Edit 2 - I checked your mod BIOS, it looks fine

@Lost_N_BIOS Can you help me with p8z77v-deluxe? I want an updated bios.

@bfc_xxx - see page #6, post #77

@Lost_N_BIOS , thank you, you have been most helpful. Sorry for the two post thing, I wasn’t sure where best to place it.

There were posts referring to other P8Z77 boards within the thread and I was not sure at the time I was downloading the correct one.

? The mod BIOS being a .CAP signed file, can you offer advice on which utility to install the BIOS?

? If I could have the upgraded microcodes inserted into the BIOS that would be great - but I don’t know how to go about it? Can you help me/point me to where to find out about this?

Once again, many thanks,

rdrslstrk

@rdrslstrk - It’s OK, just part of my duties here to try and keep things straight, sorry if anything sounded abrasive (I’m really a nice guy ) And you’re welcome, thanks to you as well!
Yes, a while back we had flurry of posts for all these Asus P8Z77 boards, so it was decided they should all be merged into one (not ideal in my opinion, for the very reason you mentioned, but there you have it)

Mod BIOS must be installed using USB Flashback. Before I help you with that, if you do need help, lets sort out the microcodes, and then once ready I’ll get you some guides/info about USB Flashback.
I sent you some info about microcodes in reply to your PM, let me know and then I’ll link you to some USB Flashback info.

I have the P8Z77-V PRO would like to have the micro code updated with the latest nvme support please.

Thanks
