[Outdated] USB 3.0/3.1 Drivers (original and modded)

Hi Fernando and all good people here :).
I have read most of the “Renesas” related posts of this topic, because I suposed to have a problem with Renesas controller.
My USB3 problem on Asus k55vm I7-3610qm with Win 7 was about randomly short disconnect/reconnect of USB3.Strange for me was that DVD drive sound like “reset” during this short moments.
Looking from time to time for a solution, I have found a forum where the explanation was about a bad energy management of Renesas controller causing those random short power falls.
Also on that forum i found a link to the solution :
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloa…-USB-3-0-Driver
Everything was ok until I have upgrade to Win10 when the problem came back because of the Win 10 USB3 controller driver.
Reinstalling attempt was unsuccessfully because “You already have the best driver”.
Now, my hardware ID is DEV-1E31, but doesn’t look like the one mentioned on first page of the topic in Renesas section, but on Intel , so I tried the b) version.
So far, installation was ok, but I’ll come back in a few days with feedback on my random power fall problem and hope to be helpful to someone else with same issue.

Regards,
Adyb

@adyb :
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
Your problem has nothing to do with Renesas USB 3.0 Controllers. Since the DeviceID of your on-board USB 3.0 Controller is DEV_1E31, it is an Intel and not a NEC/Renesas one.
The latest Intel USB 3.0 drivers v4.0.5.55 WHQL natively do not support DEV_1E31 USB Controllers, but the mod+signed variant may work with your system.
Good luck!

For Renesas Gen2 USB 3.0 Controllers (uPD720201) i found a newer drivers in station drivers witch resolve sleep problems .

Hey,

i just updated my system from z77 Sabertooth to Asrock OCF Z170.

After the installation of your modded USB3.0 Intel drivers the following USB-Hub updated itself too. Is this behavior correct?

I suspect, that it is ok.
Questions:
1. Which OS are you running (a Signature would be fine)?
2. Did you install the Intel USB 3.0 "Switch driver" as well?

@boombastik :
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum and thanks for your info about the new Renesas USB 3.0 drivers!

I will try it this evening and offer them within the start post of this thread (if I should succeed with the extraction).

WIn10 x64
And all three drivers are installed and seemed to work fine :slight_smile:

@Fernando
On my SABERTOOTH x99 i have installed 2 variantes of W10x64 v1511, each one is running on a separate SSD (i750, SM950).
i750 is running my daily W10 version with multiple applications.
SM950 is runing a very light W10 with very few applications and I use it for tests and validations purpose only.

I have installed INTEL USB 3.0 modded driver (v4.0.5.55) on i750 without any problem:

However, on SM950 I did not succeed to fully install the INTEL USB 3.0 modded driver to replace Microsoft native drivers.
Only Intel modded Controller driver can be installed, The Hub driver can’t be installed… W10 warms that driver is not validate…
I have to keep the native USB 3.0 Microsoft driver in place…

I have properly installed the certification on SM950. I got no error message.
Here is the retry of Certificate import:

Is certification process working properly on a dual W10 configuration ?
Do you have any suggestion why a dual W10 configuration system has a problem with your Intel USB 3.0 modded driver ?

At least I was able to extract the "pure" drivers, but I only found the old v3.0.23.0 drivers dated 08/21/2012, which are already available within the start post of this thread.

Yes, as long as you have installed the Operating Systems onto different disk drives resp. partitions.

No, I dont have any idea why got a problem with the second OS. It seems to have nothing to do with the Win-RAID CA Certificate.

First of all, thank you for your kind support.
Until now I was convinced that the USB3 controller is Renesas, but never checked deeper my hardware (used Speccy), maybe because the package from :" https://downloadmirror.intel.com/21566/e…2.1.28.1_PV.exe " solved my issue on Win 7 Pro.
Unfortunately for me, the mod+signed version from first page doesn’t solve it.
I stiil encounter short "reset" moments that break the communication with my external HDD for a fraction of second.
Is it something else I can try?
As I said before, at the same moment also the DVD RW make a noise like on system startup when checking peripherals.
Might be related in any way?
Thank again for your support.

I recommend to check the functionality of the external HDD/Optical Drive inclusive the ports, to which they are connected.

Hey Fernando!
Ran across this forum because I was having issues with usb 3.0 on my windows 10 laptop and your drivers worked like a charm! Too bad they won’t integrate your drivers instead of the faulty ones!

but I must admit I’m posting because I seem to have the same isssues with my usb 3.1 controller also where it cuts out. I attempted to install the 3.1 drivers posted but it tells me they are not correct even though I’ve verified that it is a Intel extensible 3.1 controller.

Any advice?

@RobertWhitten :
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

Please check the DeviceID of the related Intel USB 3.1 Controller and tell me, which OS you are running.

Dieter (alias Fernando)

Oh i’m very sorry. I should of supplied that information up front (It’s been a long week.)

Windows 10 x64 build 1511
PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_15B5 (spaces added for rediblity)
shows up as intel usb 3.1 extensible host controller

@RobertWhitten :
Attached are the 64bit Intel USB 3.1 drivers v15.2.30.13, whose INF files have just been modified by me to make them usable with Win10 x64. Furthermore I have digitally signed them to make them installable without the need of disabling the "Driver Signature Enforcement"…
The procedure is the same as with the mod+signed Intel USB 3.0 drivers. If you have already imported the Digital Signature, you should be able to get them manually installed without the need of a previous import of the Win-RAID CA Certificate.
You may have to use the "Have Disk" button.
Please report here, if you got the Intel USB 3.1 Controller and Hub drivers properly installed and working.
Good luck!

That’s awesome!
but I can’t seem to download it yet. Tells me the backend fetch failed.

Update:scratch that
Seems to be working. Will update if the it works. Thank you again!

You have been too quick.
