OverPowered TONGFANG CyberPower Machrevo MACHENIKE - Unlocked BIOS Guide W/ Files

@Inori - Advanced >> Overclocking Performance >> Core Voltage mode, overridem and Core Voltage Offset, Offset Prefix - Be careful, as mentioned!
See also, your original Advanced, below Light Effect and XTU optino, you should have seen a copy of Core Voltage Offset setting so you could set this with default BIOS already too (maybe it was, or still is hidden though, not sure, I never seen image of your original advanced, so if it was hidden then it probably still is)

@bladerelic - Sorry, not sure what you mean “you flashed the BIOS” I didn’t make you any BIOS?? If Fast Boot is enabled by default for your BIOS, you may need to enter BIOS via Windows10 advanced reboot or troubleshooting options, google about enter UEFI BIOS and Win10 you will find how that works.
Then once in there, disable this

If you want me to unlock your BIOS, please do the following

If you have already modified the BIOS in ANY way, you will need to re-flash it back to factory defaults using factory method (NOT FPT)!!!
Additionally, please remove all BIOS passwords, disable secure boot, and disable TPM or Encryption if you have enabled. Do this before moving on to below

If you do not have Intel ME drivers installed, install them now from your system driver download page, then start over here after reboot.
Check your BIOS’ main page and see if ME FW version is shown. If not then > DOWNLOAD HWINFO64 HERE <

Once HWINFO is open, look at the large window on the left side, expand motherboard, and find the ME area.
Inside that section is the ME Firmware version. Take note of the version. (ie. write it down or get a screenshot)

Once you have that, go to the thread linked below, and in the section “C.2” find and download the matching ME System Tools Package for your system.
(ie if ME FW version = 10.x get V10 package, if 9.0-9.1 get V9.1 package, if 9.5 or above get V9.5 package etc)
> DOWNLOAD " ME System Tools " packages HERE <

Once downloaded, inside you will find Flash Programming Tool folder, and then inside that a Windows or Win/Win32 folder (NOT x64).
Highlight that Win/Win32 folder, then hold shift and press right click. Choose “open command window here” (Not power shell! >> * See Registry file below *).

If you get an error, reply to this post with a screenshot of it, OR write down the EXACT command entered and the EXACT error given.

((If “open command window here” does not appear, look for the “Simple Registry Edit” below…))

Step #1

Now you should be at the command prompt.
You are going to BACKUP the factory un-modified firmware, so type the following command:
Command: " FPTw.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin "

>> Attach the saved "biosreg.bin ", placed into a compressed ZIP/RAR file, to your next post!!! <<

Step #2

Right after you do that, try to write back the BIOS Region dump and see if you get any error(s).
Command: " FPTw.exe -bios -f biosreg.bin "
^^ This step is important! Don’t forget! ^^

If you get an error, reply to this post with a screenshot of it, OR write down the EXACT command entered and the EXACT error given.

Here is a SIMPLE REGISTRY EDIT that adds “Open command window here as Administrator” to the right click menu, instead of Power Shell
Double-click downloaded file to install. Reboot after install may be required
> CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD CMD PROMPT REGISTRY ENTRY <

If the windows method above does NOT work for you…
Then you may have to copy all contents from the Flash Programming Tool \ DOS folder to the root of a Bootable USB disk and do the dump from DOS
( DOS command: " FPT.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin " )

thanks for the reply. here is my bios dump biosreg

@bladerelic - You’re welcome! I can’t download either of the links you provided, requires google sign-in. Please upload to tinyupload.com or uploadfiles.io, or to google without sing-in required if you want

hmm… does this link work for you https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kDZjFzH…iew?usp=sharing
here’s a tinyupload link http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=05935388953929008182

@bladerelic - Yes, that google link is OK thanks
Please check back in a bit for edit to this post with your unlocked BIOS

no problem. thanks for your help

@bladerelic - You’re welcome! Here is your unlocked BIOS, flash it back via >> FPTw.exe -bios -f biosregm.bin

*** WARNING - To ANYONE with laptop and unlocked BIOS!!!
DO NOT try to enable this graphics card or disable that card, switch cards etc. Otherwise you will end up with no display output (ie black screen) and no way to recover except by blind flash or with flash programmer.
You can change graphics related settings, like changing memory sizes, or core speeds etc, just don’t try to disable one card or change which is main etc.

Additionally, be very careful when trying to undervolt CPU, you can leave BIOS unbootable due to CPU voltage too low (Sometimes even 0.05 is too much)

WARNING *** - This BIOS is user specific! If you are not user bladerelic at Win-RAID.com forum, DO NOT USE THIS BIOS!!
If you do, and you are not bladerelic, then you will loose your serial, UUID, OG NVRAM, and possibly LAN MAC ID as well.
You have been warned!!!

Just a quick update and correction:
Turns out my problem was running MSI Afterburner, and was unrelated to the bios unlock. A few days in, and it still works like a charm. Thanks lost!

@ABS_Tacos - So what was the problem MSI Afterburner was causing?

Hi Lost N Bios

I have a an intel Whitebook LAPQC71A (AKA Mag-15, Vapor 15 Pro, TongFang QC7) laptop that I want to use for portable audio work with a thunderbolt audio interface. It works OK now after using the “Intel Aptio V Integrator Tools” to change some bios settings that weren’t available in the bios F2 boot screen.
I want access to change some other things. The main thing I want to change now is to enable “security - none” (or Legacy Boot) on the Thunderbolt port. This might also help with compatibility with the thunderbolt driver for my interface in windows.
Just wondering if that is likely to be possible and if there is already a modded bios for that model before I jump to far in to learning how to do it? I’m definitely a novice at this.
I’ve attached the output from “Intel Aptio V Integrator Tools” “iSetupCfg” and a link to the current bios CAP file. though I haven’t read to far yet it looks like that isn’t much use at this point. The Thunderbolt security part is listed towards the end of the bios.txt file
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JuvEjL1…iew?usp=sharing

bios.txt (15.6 KB)

@Echidna - I’m confused, why don’t you use the tool you mentioned to change the settings you mentioned?

Hi Lost_N_Bios,

I can’t change that setting using the Intel Aptio V Integrator Tools" “iSetupCfg” because that option doesn’t show up in the bios or in the editable options that show up using the tool… The tool only allows changes to options that already exist in the bios. Just some of them are normally hidden at the boot screen bios. I’m thinking that there may be a further option that has been buried and won’t show up since newer security concerns with Thunderbolt.
The options available to change for thunderbolt, shown below, don’t include “no Security” or legacy boot, which should be the same thing. I’ve tried adding in an extra option but it wouldn’t accept it.

Setup Question = Thunderbolt Security Level
Map String = NUC033
Token =2959 // Do NOT change this line
Offset =4F3
Width =01
BIOS Default =[01]User Authorization
Options =[01]User Authorization // Move "" to the desired Option
[02]Secure Connect
[03]Display Port only
[04]USB Docking Only

BTW thanks for your reply and help

@ Echidna - So, this is Eluktronics MAG-15? What is the full Tongfang model QC7xxxx?
Other user asked me about that model here too, but I’m not sure what “earlier” posts he was referring to, so I can’t be sure if we modified this one yet or not

Also, from the ME System tools package you download, at MEINFO/Win32 folder, run this command and show me image of the bottom of report >> MEINFOwin.exe -verbose

Not sure of the Tongfang model. All I have found out is that it is Tongfang QC7 (LAPQC71A) The LAPQC71A being the Intel Whitebook number. I have been trying to find out more. It’s also the same as Schenker XMG FUSION 15 (ID: XFU15L19). There are some other models the same except for a more powerful graphics card, being the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Qunstead of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Mobile. Sometimes it’s just an option in the same model but has a different bios.
Working on the other things now.

Thanks, I have BIOS for that XMG fusion model already too, and menu edits marked out, but no user folder or mod etc. So maybe there is some issue, let me see if I can find user posts for that model and see what happened.
Never mind, only mention of that model is from the other users post I linked above. He has CH341A though, so lets see what we can do on his system before we do any flashing here, Intel Boot Guard may be enabled here (Still do all above stuff though)

I’ve included the biosreg.bin, the error log, the output from SCEWIN as a text file and the output from MEinfoWin as txt.

I noticed that the output from SCEWIN contained all the Thunderbolt options that I wanted to change and potentially more. I wasn’t sure if it was possible to edit it with that tool, which would obviously save a lot of mucking around? At least it shows those options are there just not showing up with the Intel Aptio Integrator tool.

Thanks very much for your help
----------------------

I’ve tried adding/editing the options that showed up in the output of SCEWIN isong the Intel Aptio tool iSetupCfg but it gives an error “incorrect syntax” “Token not found at line 10” corresponding to the name string of the item I wanted to change. In this case it was changing the Thunderbolt a boot option.
So I’m guessing all the items that show up in the SCEWIN output are locked or hidden from iSetupCfg

--------------------------------

Ok sorry I missed the bit about using all versions of SCEWIN, but I can do that now. I think there are only a few things I would want to change. That would be the Thunderbolt security any possibly anything to do with turbo boost. If thee is anyway do reduce the problems caused by the Nvidia card interupting the audio drivers that would be a bonus to.
cheers
---------------------

looks like none of the other SceWin outputs worked except for 5.03.1107 64bit. I’ve attached all the output errors as text and the NVRAM.

--------------------------

I think I would be totally happy just to be able to change some of the things shown in the SceWin output. Probably safer for me not to have everything unlocked though it would be easier if those items relating to Thunderbolt were changeable from the bios boot up screen.
cheers

biosreg.rar (3.96 MB)

@Echidna - Since you didn’t do as I mentioned, what all versions of SCEWin worked here, only the one you sent output from or did others work as well?

SCEWin is used similar to using the other tool, but you need to use it to write back using SCEWin >> SCEWIN /i /s nvram.txt
But, ONLY make a change and flash back if you understand how to make the changes, if not, ask and I will show you

Measured Boot AND verified Boot are enabled at the FPF in PCH chipset, this cannot be changed without replacing the chipset. Any change to Boot Guard covered areas in the BIOS = instant brick. So there can be no “Menu” modifications on this model, thanks to Intel
We can however, directly change any setting you see in SCEWin output, and or IFR generated from setup module. Once we find working method to make the changes, this is not covered by boot guard so will not = instant brick like a BIOS menu change attempt would.
There is many ways to change the current applied values to any setting, hidden or visible to you in BIOS, we just have to find the method that works here then we can change any setting.
Here is IFR text output from setup, in case you want to browse through it and see if you also find other settings not visible in SCEWin output - http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fil…865906744210251
Or, you can also look though the BIOS in an easier to view way w/ GUI, using AMIBCP 5.02.0023 or 5.02.0031

.

@Echidna - Please use edit button instead of making a bunch of posts in a row, thanks
BIOS Menu edit is not possible here due to Boot Guard. Did you test write back with changes you wanted, using SCEWin? I gave the command to do so above in case you missed it
Go ahead and use 5.03.1111 created file and that version exe to write it back too.

Hi @Lost_N_BIOS ,

Can you please unlock my BIOS for my GK5CP0Z?
