Any suggestions what i can try on my ASRock X570 Taichi with Ryzen 9 5900X to get Windows 7 working? Is it maybe because of ACPI.sys too, even if different Stop Code? Stop Code 0X0000007E
EDIT: after stumbling across a posting with google, i found that Windows 7 x86 has no problem Starting. Only the 64bit version
To #361 7E errorā¦ If you have turned on CSM, you can check your SSD/HDD partition table type (MBR/GPT), if your want to run Win7 in UEFI mode, your SSD/HDD should have at least 1 FAT32 partition and 1 NTFS partition, FAT32 is use to place the Windows EFI Loader for UEFI load it, and then NTFS is to place the Win7 for Windows EFI Loader boot the OS.
The problem is that not even Windows 7 Setup is starting.
I found a post while using google where someone wrote x86 is working, x64 not. So i tried it and indeed, Windows 7 x86 is starting fine. Only 64bit Version does not run on my Board. Maybe 64bit is forced to use UEFI, i dont know. Needs further testing :-/
Working not confortable for me. I waching periodic lags and freezes with any tasks. Microfreezes with mouse moving, clicks. And sound driver anyway not working even with fix by canonkong. When i tried to run Ryzen Master - iāve got bsod. I think reason is AMD RM workong with UEFI. So now i working on win10, because i have no more time for experiments.

Thanks for sharing! I wonder how is it comparing to latest Ryzen series? Is it better or same micro freezes?

Whatās the most retard-proof way of getting Win7 running on a 5950X/X570/6900XT setup? Iām currently running Win7 on my 2600/CH7 system but itās been forever since I last reinstalled.
Adrenalin 20.11.2 has the new RADEON USB3.1 Controller Driver v1.0.0.0013 (for Radeon RX6000 Type-C?)
DEV_7316 is Radeon Pro W5700 USB Type-C. 73A6, 73C6, 73E6 are Radeon RX 6000 USB Type-C??? 15E1 and 15E0 are Raven USB 3.1. (and add 145C, 145F, 148C, 149C, 15E5, 1639)
Please, ask @canonkong for this. He has full rights. Donāt forget to report your results.
I am planning to upgrade 1950X and currently on the crossroads to go for TR2/3 or Ryzen 5950X. And interested which of them are more compatible with Windows 7 x64.
@spacedrone808 thank you, @canonkong can you please share your modified ACPI.SYS so I can try it ? , I have issue ACPI compilate on my Asus TRX40 , CPU TR 3960x
i have uploaded this windows 7 iso made with image-burn from the usb stick used to get windows 7 on my pc (b450m board). can not guarantee that it will work because i haee not tested it and it is the first time i tried to make an iso from a functional usb stick installer. but it should be possible to boot from it after āburningā it to usb-stick or cd with rufus or similar program.
the nvme driver (if needed) must be load during the installation of windows 7 and is on the stick aswell, but only for samsung nvme; donāt know if it will function for other models aswell.
after the installation i lost all usb ports, but with the drivercd i was able to install chipset driver for am4 and from there proceeded with the additional drivers for the motherboard / cpu etc. and the modded ones for pci/usb3.
Need some help here guys. Iāve tried using the drivers package included in this post and adding them into a Windows 7 SP1 Pro x64 iso. Iāve tried with a USB 2.0 and 3.0 drive but can only ever get the first stage installed. When it comes to booting it off the HDD it stops in different stages. Itās always before the GUI though. Booting normally I just get an infinite loading windows animation. If I try safe mode itāll stop on different files, most commonly disk.sys. Iāve got a MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus and Ryzen 5 3600. Thanks.
