@canonkong
What’s the Difference
AMD_AM4_X399_TRX40_Drivers_B7_Win7_8.1_SHA256
AMD_AM4_X399_TRX40_Drivers_B9_Win7_8.1_SHA256
???
Sorry, but not clear.
@canonkong
Why files differ amdxhc31.cat amdhub31.cat amdxhc31.sys
in USB DriverVer=01/22/2018, 1.0.5.3
In my opinion, only these files should be supplemented:
amdxhc31.inf
amdhub31.inf
@Propretor
Unpack Radeon drivers for windows7, you can find amdRxhc and amdRhub3 drivers.
Vanilla amdxhc31.sys doesn’t work on B550 chipset.
[Solution] Win7/8.1 Drivers for USB 3.0/3.1 Controllers of new AMD Chipset Systems (14)
@isopc1999a
OK, The AMD website constantly threw up the distribution kit for Win 10, and there was also for Win 7! The first issue has been resolved.
@canonkong
I want to be sure I understand correctly:
- with Dism++ I can only integrate the drivers into a Win 7 image to install it from scratch;
- with Dpinst I can install the drivers on a Win 7 installation already installed and running.
Hopefully someone can link me where to recover Dpinst and a guide on how to use it?
Thank you
Any AMD TR3 owners here using Windows 7 on daily basis?
I have an Asrock X570 Pro4 with the latest bios. I only found this forum after buying the board, so was annoyed to find these boards wont run Win7. Several threads discuss using a modified ACPI.sys, has someone got this to work? and can someone point me to a discussion of how they got this to work? Thanks
Just wanted to register and thank @canonkong and the rest of you guys for this thread. After having either non-working USB ports, bluescreens on startup or other issues trying to get this to work, I finally got my MSI B450M Mortar Max and Ryzen 7 3700X working with canonkong’s USB drivers and all the ports I have tested so far are working without an issue.
In case anyone else needs this for the future, I’ll just quickly outline what I did:
1. Use the MSI provided tool to make a bootable installation USB from my retail Win 7 SP1 disc.
2. Update to the latest BIOS (7B89v2C from 2021-02-01).
3. Install Windows using the USB memory and an old Creative Prodikeys PS/2 keyboard.
4. Install the basic chipset drivers from MSI’s website (17.40.2815.1010 from 2018-07-06) and reboot. This got my USB mouse working, which helped a lot.
5. Install the Realtek LAN drivers from MSI’s website (7.126.0510.2019 from 2019-07-30) and get my firewall+antivirus software installed.
6. Use Dism++ to install all the Windows updates that did not have any warnings or other notices on them. This required a couple of reboots.
7. Install the NVME updates (KB2990941-v3-x64 and then KB3087873-v2-x64) and reboot.
8. Use canonkong’s USB driver (AMD_1.0.0.13_MOD_Win7) to fix the unknown USB devices in device manager and reboot.
9. Install the most recent chipset driver from AMD’s website (2.04.28.626), but unchecking the USB driver from the installation, just in case, and then reboot.
10. Install the most recent GPU drivers for my 5700XT and other miscellaneous drivers for sound and such.
I did make a Windows restore point after every time consuming step, just so I wouldn’t have to redo 30 minutes of work in case something went wrong along the way, but I have not had to use them this time around
Once again, thanks for the great drivers and good thread!
@PatrickK , I did download and use that ISO (enWin7 x64_Pro_SP2.10) and put it on a thumbdrive via PowerISO to make a bootable USB. I have a MSI MAG x570 Tomahawk Wifi, Ryzen 7 3700x and MSI Radeon RX 580 graphics card with a TEAM 2T SSD. I have flashed the BIOS to the most recent. Like many other options I’ve tried, Win7 install always gets a Load Driver "a required CD/DVD device driver is missing" With your ISO as well.
I have tried adjusting things in the BIOS -
-Boot Mode: Legacy+UEFI
-Legacy USB support: enabled
-XHCI Hand-off: enabled
-BIOS UEFI/CSM MODE: CRM
The bootable USB is recognized, but I just get the missing driver for CD/DVD prompt every time.
I’m on page 20 of 34 in this thread, so far, so I don’t know really if this has been definitively solved, I just saw your post with the ISO that should have what I need for my build and tried that.
I am not tech savvy enough to understand the OP instructions. What else can I do? I’m almost at my wit’s end, as this new computer is for my business and my other one is crashing, old and can’t really be updated anymore. I’m running out of time.
EDIT: I changed Legacy USB support - disabled, rebooted, then re-enabled it in bios, chose the bootable USB and it worked!! Win7 has successfully installed!
Thank you all for working so hard and being so responsive.
Hi Guys, i am new here and created a account because i need your help. I am using a ASUS B550-E Motherboard with a AMD 5900X CPU and want to install Windows 7 Home Premium (German). I used the drivers from @canonkong (first link) and the installation worked but after the first reboot all usb devices didnt work and i was unable to complete it. CSM and Legacy Support was activated in the BIOS. DSIM helped me to put the drivers into the boot and installation wim (all 4 indexes) but something must be wrong. @PatrickK iso didnt work too. Any ideas?
@der_peter you can also try this iso here https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/…C83735348317F6W
it is however windows 7 pro and in english.
it did function for me on ryzen 3000, but my motherboard has ps/2 input, and i went from there on to install the drivers after the first reboot.
maybe you could manually load the usb drivers during install, they are also on the iso (the ones from @canonkong ) and try if this functions for you.
also with this iso the driver for samsung nvme must be loaded manually, eventually.
@der_peter I am not surprised by your experience, that’s why I work on my next ISO release with native xHCI support for future chipsets. In the folder called SP2.11 a beta ISO is avaiable.
@riku : thank you!
@PatrickK : very nice, thank you! I only need Windows 7 because i have a legit retail Windows 7 Home Premium version here and want to do the free Windows 10 Upgrade process. I will try your Beta-ISO - is Home Premium included?
@der_Peter You are welcome, but installing and using Windumb10 is not the point for me being in this forum.
Just install you Win10 and use you license key, that should work.
@PatrickK is Windows 7 Home Premium included into your (Beta-) ISO? Btw, you cant activate Windows 10 with a Windows 7 Key.
Edit: Beta-ISO doesnt work for me - resulting in a Black-Screen after boot.
Hoping to get opinions on this one as I may have overlooked something.
have a MSI X570 ACE MEG that I put win7 on. That isn’t the issue, win7 installed with no problems, the problem is the usual usb2/3 issue. It won’t even see the legacy 2 usb or the rest of the 3s. I tried device drivering installing the drivers but they still didn’t work.
I’m out of ideas. I could roll the drivers into the install but I am wary that would work either. Am I overlooking something?
edit: also PatrickK doing great work with your dls thank you very much
I tried drivers from this topic on ASRock B550M Pro4 and all work fine except USB 3.1 - drivers signed by Riolin Limited did not worked because of error "use of not signed drivers" (strange error because drivers are signed!). I tried several solutions, including switch off checking for not signed drivers - no success. But this error gone after installation of simplix update pack (from blog simplix info/update7/ ) and switched back on checking for signed drivers. So now I have good working Windows 7 on my ASRock B550, including M.2 SSD NVMe drive, no any unknown devices or warnings in device management window.
Many thanks for this drivers pack!
Hello, I have a ryzen 3600x and an aorus b450 elite, what should I do to avoid blue screens with usb3 drivers (plugged on the chipset)?
additional question: are there any drivers for thunderbolt on windows 7?
there are quite some add-in cards available now, but it seems drivers only for windows 10-64bit?
I’ve tried using NTLite to inject all the drivers and i’ve tried restricting the USB drivers to just 1.0.013 Mod, on both the mouse works fine when I’m booted to the installation flash drive but I get the missing CD thing every time. I have legacy and CSM enabled in my bios. I’m on an Asus x570 board and a 5600x. I’m trying to install it onto a Sata drive aswell. Pls help!
